I've seen northern US folks do the same for muskie. Also a variant has been used in the southern US forever. It is called jigger pole fishing.

In Wisconsin we call this the figure 8 for musky. Fish are fish a lot of people fit them all in their own box. There's differences to capitalize on but at the end of the day big fish eat little fish.

Isnt it a basic technique for pike fishing in the states?
@amylippert7631
@amylippert7631 4 года назад
More so muskie, but yes it can be used for pike, honestly the bass in japan must be fearless, because you try that here all you will do is spook very fish in 100 feet
@junpeif80
@junpeif80 4 года назад
Amy Lippert true. I am sure you would spook them as well in japan if you use the wrong lure at the wrong time. In Japan, the 8 trap is more common for sea bass.

@@amylippert7631 I’ve been doing it in Montana with good success. Generally in irrigation canals and gravel pits with steep brushy banks. Places where fish can only pin baitfish right up to the bank.

Pretty sure there's musky fishermen twice this man's age that do the same thing...

its def different a figure 8 for musky's is a lot wider an not as erratic and most the musky guys. Aren't using big multi jointed swimbaits like the balam 300 they mainly use giant inlines or maybe those Poseidon's or something similar to that those baits and technically this isn't even for musky's an u barely see anyone to 8 trapping for bass.
@elonmust7470
@elonmust7470 3 года назад
@@SneakersAnonymousMatt Swimming the bait at the end of the rod is swimming the bait at the end of the rod. This person did not invent it like he's alluding to.
@SneakersAnonymousMatt
@SneakersAnonymousMatt 3 года назад
@@elonmust7470 he didn't say he invented the figure 8 he is saying he has a new take to it. With using certain types of swimbaits. An also again its a different technique an not the same

@@SneakersAnonymousMattOh, you know Japanese? It's in the title, running a figure 8 pattern with a lure is not called "8 trap", or "balaming". That's all. But here you come to argue, I know you bud. You're a big mouthed kid. Your sub list makes that clear. So, stop arguing.
