Went to Fort de Soto on Saturday, made a rig like the one you use for snapper, put a pinfhish and threw it from the pier. I hooked a tarpon in less than a minute but I forgot to set de drag and it broke me clean off 30lb braid. I tried to fish for snapper but the water was super clouding and muddy, didn't get another bite that day. Thanks for the tips!!
@thonny @fishonchannel I’ll be down in palmetto in November. I’d love to hook up with you guys and go hit some spots. I’m mainly out on Emerson wading or on coquina/longboat. Pulling studs from under the bridge/piers.
Bush I'm telling you because I love your content... It's time for a lav mic. The wind and road noise are distracting. Great job with the tight lines and thank you for sharing your knowledge as always.
@@Monzt3r appreciate you watching my friend. For this video I had to use the old camera I forgot my good camera home with everything else including the mic 😀💪
Good job Bush! You know how I feel about the Skyway, it's hit or miss. When the fish are running and biting good it's a blast, but when they aren't or the Dolphins are being pests, it's the worst.
@@PassivePortfolios Yeah, that's a great idea. The new world fishermen just watch where RU-vidrs are catching them and then go there. It's similar to having a live scope on a boat, ha ha...I'm about ready for another Skyway Fishing Pier adventure.
This week at the Sand Key jetty, I got a nice Snook on a Pompano jig!! Unfortunately, I didn't have a net and nearly killed myself trying to get down those big, sharp/slippery rocks!!
I will be down in Saint Petersburg this weekend, was thinking of trying johns pass or some other spots for pompano. Any suggestions on if that should be good or what else might be worth targeting while I’m down there. Wouldn’t mind some sheeps or black drum
@@FishOnChannel I have a grouper trip on the Hub Extreme for the 11th. Thanks for the tips, maybe I'll bring the family to Skyway. I know it isn't the best time of year for them but any real shot at sheeps from shore? Trying to maximize my limited fishing time, I'll be with my wife and son
🌴 Hey my friend well ya still caught pomp’s , can’t believe you left your cameras at home 😊, as for the stingrays ,hey there edible, did you see any threadfin bait there ? 🤔
@@davescheer5038 I almost left good I thought about my backup camera. Threadfins are back. As soon as that water clears up bite is going to be on fire 💪
What about all the pollutants in the water from storm Debbie All the silver water and septic tanks that emptied out into the water. They were saying not recommended to eat the fish in the Saint Petersburg. Even down in Clearwater, the water was very dirty brown.
FYI, the cities have been releasing raw sewage water into the bay so the water has been dirty and smelly. We just returned from Ft. DeSoto (low tide) and the water was dirty and smelly.
We havent been releasing "Raw" sewage in the water. I work at a plant that had a major issue from Debbie. Its not fully treated reclaim water (Big Difference). If the cities were releasing raw sewage in the water it wouldnt be just cloudy and smelly trust me. You also have to remember the amount of run off from the land alone puts a lot sedimate and contaminents in the water. Yes plants were overloaded but they dont just start diverting raw sewage into the bay.
@@Hesco111 the City of St.Pete has dumped raw sewage in the bay before and the water looked the same with high bacteria content. The water at the park stunk and was the color of ginger ale which are signs of another raw sewage dump. I have lived here since 1977 and know all about it.
