When I do live bait like that I use a short shank treble hook. Having those extra hooks ensures more hook ups. Fun one, they always bite when your holding something else!😂

a tip for next time, you should let the fish have the bait for a while because it takes time for it to eat the entire bluegill and get to the hook.
