Fishing with the Ozark Trail 5 Lure Set

In today's video, I try to see if I can catch a bass on each lure contained in the Ozark Trail 5 Lure Set. It has a popper, a jerk bait, two crankbaits, and a lipless crankbait. One of them even manages to snag me a painted turtle.

Wisdom I got from an old lady fisher-woman many years ago "Fish really don't give a damn how much your rod, reel or lures cost." I've used the Ozark Trail stuff and did pretty well too. Nice vid, the poor little turtle though, I'm glad you were able to get him free pretty quick, there was a creek I used to fish that I'd catch one almost every time, I'm sure they are like "WHAT is happening to me???"

Walmart bought the "seconds" Laser Sharp hooks for those baits. Change them out with the treble hooks in the box.

The cotton cordell lures are also some good lures to try out. Like the ozark trail lures but they got to do something about the hooks tho they ain't very sharp

Yeah I think cotten cordell and bomber as well make packs of lures that Walmart sells, I might need to do videos on those too!

@@certifieddinks3943 yes there also good an cant forget about the rebel lures to they also have a four pack of lures that Walmart carries there pretty good too

Great challenge idea! Can't really go wrong with a popper, unless it sinks. lol. Just change out the hooks and you are good.

I’ve got probably 8 or 9 Walmart lures. I generally swap out the hooks before they get wet. Have caught quite a few fish on them.

There’s nothing wrong with them but yes I think a hook upgrade will make a noticeable different in landed fish.

I love my Ozark trail lures from the soft plastics to the hard baits I've had good luck

I used these today and caught 3 small 1 pound-ish striped bass and a 2-3 Lb. largemouth with the shad style crankbait in the middle of the pack. Great for fall fishing.

The lipless pattern is the PERCH pattern. I caught 20 large mouth in about 2.5 hours using the 7/16 oz square bill crankbait by Ozark trails with the PERCH pattern. They really like that pattern.

Ok that makes sense, no perch where I'm from so it definitely wasn't anywhere in my mind that it could've been a perch pattern. Thanks for stopping by!
