Awhile ago, when you were searching for a new boat, I expressed hope that you'd choose one large enough to accommodate your family for recreational purposes. Great selection, John. In a few years, young James can learn the ropes of launching and driving her around to help out his elderly dad...!

Brings back memories of taking my wife and girls out on our boat. Now the wife passed away and the girls are grown with their own children. I still take the grandkids fishing and making more memories.

Lift, and wind, lift and wind, young James quickly picked it up. Hannah wanted gurnard, she got one, James ordered a shark fish, mission accomplished. Superb day afloat for all. Very enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing your day afloat with your family.

Great video John and nice to see James and hannah out on boat in a few years time James is going to give you a run for your money fishing. Took my eldest out at 3 he had the first. Biggest. Most fish that day . 30 years on he still doesn't stop reminding me. Nice day you had with the family well done mate.

I really enjoy youre videos mate not just for the tips species ect but become its allways a family thing.. its great to see not only the wife but the little man enjoying the fishing together. I have a 13yo/going on 21 yo daughter who cba even considering a fishing trip with me 😂. I really do hope youre videos encourage the younger generation get involved and we'll done once again.. Stick at it, I had a few wilderness years with my daughter in her early teens but now she loves her fishing again...even if boat trips also have to involve plenty of pics for the gram 😀

I fucking love this guy so much. I am a person who doesnt have anyone besides wife, cat and giant love for nature and i never wanted or missed more than that. I feel like this guy could hate the whole world, beat up anyone and everything but he would do anything for his wife and kid and with them he is a whole different person. I apologise if i am wrong, but for some reason i feel like that. I hope you and your family have a good and healthy future so that you can bring us more videos. I do not even watch your videos so much because of fishing but because of you, amazing guy. There is just something about you on that boat fishing for yourself.. no sponsors, ego, $$$$$$fishing gear just a normal you. Great family trip. Well done Hannah, we catch many salt water fish here on raw chicken. Works best marinated in garlic, curry powder or even just BBQ sauce. Bream in particular love it.

Great video. We have a four year, my wife likes sea fishing but we are looking for our first boat for sea angling, we like the idea of a deep V for dealing with slightly choppy water

i loved being based at Plymouth and owning a boat the fishing was amazing for 23 years, unfortunately i had to relocate to the North East of Scotland when i left the RN where the boat fishing is non existant, sad times but you move with the wages. Love your videos John & Hannah keep them going you're the epicenter of a family day out. I lost my son in 2005 and not a day passes where i dont think about him and when i look at your wee boy i think of me and what i would have taught him and treasured him as you guys do.

A good trick is to wrap the line around the boat cleat and allow the movement of the boat to release the snag. This prevents you hurting your hand or breaking your rod.

Think the first time I got to go into the ocean I was about 8. Caught my first Coho salmon on that trip, and also got seasick for the 1st of only 2 times in my life. Good to see the lad in the salt!

Your giving the impression that every early morning is a stunning day in Cornwall, I have to say this one was. As always nice to see the family having fun and catching fish on the new boat. James is getting more proficient with the rod, no mention of dinosaurs as he gone off them? Chicken Satay for bait? why not.

It's surprising what fish will eat if they get the chance. Notoriously you find some species hanging around sewage outlets, as it seems they have developed a taste for pre-digested sweet corn! I heard about an angler in Alderney who caught a nice fat turbot. He was puzzled by the big bulge in its stomach, so he opened it up and found a large cooked sausage inside! It seems some yachtie travelling through the Alderney Race had thrown the remains of his breakfast over the side, which the turbot then gratefully received.

@@stevebarlow3154 Yes I lived in Looe before they changed the sewage system (1962/1963) the fish would feed near the sewage outlets. Mainly plaice.

What a good session James was enjoying it, I was out with my son and granddaughter for about 1hr 45mins and between us we had 40 plus mackerel of the pier that was a good session tight lines till the next one
