I love the Fisker Karma. One of the best modern vehicle designs and the interior is beautiful. But this was a waste of money to spend on a hybrid. This is why getting hybrids and electric cars are a waste of an investment.

Seeing a Fisker Karma is quite the treat. Specially one that has obviously been driven a lot. I'm surprised it hasn't caught on fire yet. Also, the engine in these cars only kicks in when the battery is about to die to charge it. It does not power the car whatsoever. And it's just a small 4 cylinder.

the engine is not actually connected to the wheels at all. the engine spins a generator which charges the batteries and the batteries power the electric motors and turn the wheels. so the engine is like a generator.

To get the GAS side to kick in... U put ur foot on the brake.. THen give it some gas at the same time.... and it will turn on the gas engine. just dont take ur foot off the brake. got to do GAS and brake..and idle it up slowly.. til the engine kicks in.

He had to put it in sport mode via the left paddle and give it immediate gas i. D to get tbe engine to turn on. It will always be in electric only in reverse.

at least the v6 challenger did justice in the end 🤦‍♂️

given it's got a GM sourced generator - it might work if you pop the hood - you'd at least hear it idle. otherwise put it in Sport mode and the ICE engine will turn on while driving.

It’s wild the engine isn’t connected to the wheels all the engine does is generate electricity for the battery pack and the electric motor and the solar roof helps keep the 12v battery charged so u can use the ac and heat

😅The engine is only to charge the batteries. It's just a generator. If you want it to kick in, you have to deplete the batteries

I'm no hater but this thing is... disappointing. We're talking an MSRP of $100k for a base model (IN 2012 MIND YOU!) and you only get 403HP out of a glorified, soundless, hybrid Mustang? That's more than a top level Tesla in TODAYS market, with half the power and range. 240 mile range? With an at-least SIX hour battery charge time? But what do I even know, I'll probably never see $100k anyways lmfao.
