Got this from Noisecreep about what the song means: ‘”Hollow King’ is a very unique track for me, lyrically,” said singer Ryan Kirby. “It’s a story of a person that sees his friend slip into the Devil’s grasp because of the ‘God-Free’ view he instilled upon him. The person then decides to go after and save his friend, which he does without faith that God can remedy the situation. During his mission to save his friend, he also falls into the Devil’s clutches. Near the middle of the song, Satan is mocking his lack of faith. The friend in the story ends up actually being himself, hence the lyrics ‘Staring face to face and eye to eye / With the man who abandoned everything.’”
the fact that ryan finds his body on the floor and finds his own blood on his hands is the exact meaning of the song (we each his own is responsible for his own destruction)-point ,you are the king of your own destruction
It saddens me that their vocalist left. Such an awesome band. But I get the opportunity to play bass for the new band that he's starting. Praise the Lord! :D
Ben Gordon It's never been funny? Well I beg to differ my friend, the rest of the internet will disagree. Who again was the one who didn't have a sense of humor?
Ben Gordon You are what's wrong with this planet. Stop with the negative energy man, it helps no one. You seem to have convinced yourself that you're better than everyone else so I won't even argue. Good day sir.
You've got blood on your hands You've turned away and the guilt is flowing through your veins Now they're left for dead and you can't replace the hole that you've made Burned by deceit Your hollow king will meet his end Meet your end Your king will meet his end I will not wait for the flame to consume me I won't let hate flow through these bones I never thought that I would end up like this Where I'd be meeting you in the end Standing face to face and eye to eye With the one who took everything Silence has taken over me My words are lost and I'm giving in Faithless This is the price that you pay You're the king of your own desctruction Now you're caught in my web Your God can't hear your cries Like he ever did You ventured out to save the one you love You should have known This is the price that you pay I never thought that I would end up like this Where I'd be trapped inside this maze Standing face to face and eye to eye With the man who abandoned everything Silence has taken over me My words are lost and I'm giving in Silence has taken over me My words are lost and I'm giving in This is the sound of the end This is the sound of the end
Seriously dude? This genre of music has hugely changed my life in a good way. Christian Hardcore/Metal has blessed my life. It has awakened my soul to Jesus even more.
All those killing floor 2 Christian metal music literally made me turn Christian and starting seriously thinking about Jesus as an ex muslim... thats how powerfull it is (also chest hair)
I appreciate your maturity in this man. Many people go straight to cussing and saying pointless things. The truth is that Christianity is the only faith that requires only belief to be saved. I cannot earn my way into Heaven because I am stained with sin. I must pay the fine for my sins, and the fine has been paid already through Christ's blood on the cross. His blood covers my sins. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."(John 14:6)
Yeah dude I’m feeling the same way, I remember discovering FFAK a few months after this was released and they’ve been a regular in repertoire ever since.
***** check out my band At Fault's song "Anxiety" because a lot of people say it reminds them of FFAK! You might like those breakdowns ;) It's on beheading the traitor just search "At Fault" in the search bar and it should be one of the first ones.
@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 I'm pretty sure that FFAK is something just between these two. With their clean, catchy choruses(not all of their songs have these!) and a bit of genericness they're pretty metalcore, but on the other hand - Their tone is heavy and chuggy as fuck, they do blast beat(Tower of Pain) and have slow breakdowns (like in Bitter End). But overall I think that it's not the exact genre that matters in music, all bands do what they think sounds cool and that's cool.
I listen this because it encourages me. I listen this because I feel. And if you don't like go away from here and go listen anything you like. I don't care what music you like so you shouldn't care what other people like.
"You've got blood on your hands! You've turned away and the guilt is flowing through your veins Now they're left for dead and you can't replace the hole that you've made Burned by deceit Your hollow king will meet his end! Meet your end Your king will meet his end!"
I could never get into Christian music because it all seemed rather ungenuine to me. Every song I've ever heard from Fit for a King shakes me to tears. These guys, to me, seem very serious and ardent about their spiritual growth. Amazing, guys. Please keep doing what you've been doing.
So I just found out about this group on Saturday at Warped Tour. I was not expecting them to sound like this given how they look. But I was VERY impressed. They put on a really great show. I'd see them again, for sure.
Takes me back to senior year. I had the majority of my credits to catch up on in my last semester. I always chugged a shit load of coffee and jammed this album while I worked. I graduated lol.
michael riley I saw them with Beartooth They killed it for the first Didn't know who they were He was amazing My mouth dropped on how long he can go with his highs 😎😄
I'm pretty sure that this song is anti-religion, just so you know. Lyrics like, "Your hollow king will meet his end." and "Your God can't hear your cries, like he ever did..." point that out pretty obviously.
masterflashito No, this band is definitely singing about God. Hollow King is referring to the other gods that we have in our lives. Which are hollow and will meet its end when we come face to face and eye to eye, with the man who gave everything. Which is referring to Jesus. When it says, "your God cant hear your cries." It is saying that no other god will hear your cries because God is the only true god. He is capital G all others are lowercase g.
I'm Christian, and I was raised to treat people of all cultures and religions equally... .. If what you believe in supports being a better person to everyone around you... ... Than I can respect that.
One of the best in their genre yet overlooked by so many. I saw them live about a year and a half ago and they sound JUST like this. 10/10 recommend you go see one of their shows(or more, that one won’t be my last)🤘
Man, I remember seeing you guys back in the day at The Rock in Cleveland, Ga. You guys have really stepped it up since then. Keep it up! (: My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praises to you; my soul also, which you have redeemed.
Dazz Freeman As I Lay Dying are not a Christian Band but only pretend to be to sell records. When Tim Lambesis got arrested for putting a hit out on his wife he made the statement that h s actually an atheist and only pretend to be Christian to sell records.
Very true. That is a great example of the power of God. He created things so small that we will never see with the naked eye. Think about quarks. Those are smaller then molecules. They are inside of them. Only God can do amazing things like this.
They usually use a microphone in the video if they aren't lip syncing, but recording right as the video is being shot. Many musicians lip sync these days, but when the band or manager isn't happy with the sound, they record it as the video is being made, and edit it while processing the film footage.
I want to meet Ryan Kirby so bad he would be so awesome to Collaborate because I am like him when I sing and scream. I love this band so much, God bless and Protect this awesome band. Amen and Ase.
hearing this song back thing thinking forward, I never would have thought this is the most anticipated song I want to hear live every time I see FFAK. this song does a fantastic job of pumping up the crowd, also they always play with great energy its hard not to be pumped.
