The problem with buying new Fitbits is that you can't use them on your account with any other modern Fitbit. So, if you have a Pixel Watch, you can't have both it and the Charge 6 on your account at the same time. This is extremely frustrating and, in my opinion, short-sighted by Google. I guess they don't want to sell more hardware. Some of us use different Fitbits for different purposes and/or swap them out when they're charging. We could always do this in the past. It's a huge step back.
I am like you. I use two Fitbits for different purposes. I did find a way to use both, but it means having two separate accounts. Which means you won't be able to combine steps, etc. as a whole. I have the Inspire 3 fitbit on my android phone app. I wear this one most of the day and for workouts. My casual wear Versa Lite Fitbit is on my apple tablet account. Google is missing the big picture here. They could make so much more money having a multi device support system. So frustrating.
Same here for an even more annoying reason. My son has a fit bit Ace and I set it up on My phone, as he doesn't have a phone. It kicked my charge 5 off the account and began tracking his Ace. That was annoying.
Understand that Fitbit will not stand behind their product. I don't expect items to last forever, but I did expect my Fitbit Charge 5 to last longer than 18 months. Battery typically lasted about six days up until the unit was about 18 months old. Now a full charge might last up to two days if you turn everything off. Fitbit tells me I'm out of warranty, but if I buy a new unit, they'll pitch in $20. I'll be looking for a different brand.
I'm afraid to try this one for now. Not only my Charge 5, but also my Charge 4, eventually started leaking sweat inside. I never used them for swimming, and never submerged them in water. Also avoided any excessive water splash from using a hose and such. Seems the seals fail around the sensor and allow sweat in after a year or less. I do love the Charge line, it's a fitness tracker primarily, but with smart watch features, but the perfect weight and size; they have always disappeared on my wrist with the sport bands. Ended up with the Versa 4, as I still am invested in Fitbit's data and all. It's pretty solid, but it's huge (the reason i avoided full-blown smart watches and loved the Charge). At least the battery life is good, and you do get a lot of easy to read information on the watch itself, as well as Alexa, voice calls through watch, etc.
Got a Charge 6 after the screen of my 4 became unreadable even in the dark. Like it so far, the screen is 100 times better than on the 4. For some old guy like me who doesn't care about all the stats, bells and whistles but time/distance plus calories burnt it does the job well enough for me. Happy with my purchase.
That's why I had to replace my charge 4 the screen just would not light up anymore. And I was so disappointed because the watch was essentially still good and was hoping it would last longer before needing to replace it. But I have had it for a few years now.
It's a pity that after so long time from the Charge 5 exit in the market, long time Fitbit users are getting so little differences in the Charge 6 from the previous model. Don't get me wrong, Charge 5 is still a great tracker, for this reason I cannot find any strong argument to upgrade.
When using directions from google maps, does it vibrate to tell you that a turn is coming up or do you just have to guess when to look at your watch? Would love this for cycling but I cant be staring at my wrist the whole time!
My Fitbit Charge 3 has a manufacturer defect. It went completely dark gradually; and there is nothing I can do about it. Higher Fitbit Charge models have similar complaints in the Web. On the other hand, my Fitbit Charge 2 is still working and its display is as bright as ever (very well made).
I have a fitbit versa 4, which is great in terms of design, comfort, and battery. However, the inability to store music, the lack of customizable watch faces, in addition to not being able to make phone calls directly from the watch, have really made me consider switching to other brands. What made me hang onto this watch is that I received it as a gift from my wife in our last anniversary.
My husband didn’t like the one I gifted him too much either. He let me know and we re-gifted to his brother. She may not mind if you decide to switch? 😊
The sole reason I still use my inspire 2 is the ‘stat heavy’ face and it’s insane battery life. None of the new fitbits have come close to be worth sacrificing those features for.
I purchased fitbit charge 5 twice and both of them died (wouldnt turn on ) within 6 month .Never wore them inside pool or while taking shower. Now I own a Garmin forerunner 55 which I feel is 100 times better than any fitbit product.
Just bought the Fitbit Charge 6 for my brother's 20th birthday from JB Hi-Fi 🎉 woohoo ❤ Hope my brother like his gift ❤ Love from Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 ❤️
I’ve had Fitbits from the beginning and have always been happy. Just got a Charge 6 and can’t find anything to like. Must find a different brand, this thing is going back. Sadly disappointed in what was once a good company.
Starting to agree. Been there since the clips moved from charge to Versa and now you want to send me back to Charge. This HR capability should not be better on charge 6... They should push the mods on HR to Versa since it's suppose to be higher price point.
Still using my Inspire HR, works just as good as when I first bought it, holds the battery for days, and I really don't want to change it, but also I kind of want to have something more modern and stylish.😵💫 I'll think about it more, I guess
I got my inspire HR in 2020. Just in the last couple of days, it will not take a charge. Customer service told me different steps to try but nothing worked. I want some thing that does a ECG without having to pay extra for the Fitbit premium.
@@nancyboman1304 If I were you, I'd try looking for inspire HR on ebay or other platforms, you may even find them new! But that's coming from someone who can't let go easily, I always hold on familiar things rather than trying something new
I used to have a fitbit charge 2 back around 2017-2018 then lost it in 2020. It was pretty good but it didn't track short naps very well at all. Now, a couple of weeks back I got the charge 6 and find the sleep tracker to be very good, even with naps. I went for a nap one afternoon and set my alarm for 1 hour, put my head down and dropped off pretty much straight away. I woke and checked the fitbit app and it said I had been sleeping for 59 minutes. My old charge 2 probably wouldn't have even recorded that short a sleep.
I’m so mad at Fitbit for several reasons. Mainly my sense 2 being just a basic watch thanks to Fitbit never updating it properly and also my charge 5 that had to be replaced twice because of the screen dying… Conclusion? I still use my charge 4 after 3 years because it’s very reliable
Mine did well on the battery for 18 months, then suddenly the battery would only last for two days. I had not changed any settings - it just decided that it was now a two day battery instead of 6 day battery.
It's absolutely wild to launch a subscription service for a product you've already purchased, paywalling features. Having owned the charge 3 for a while, I really want the charge 6 for it's simplicity, but I can't condone such anti-consumer behaviour. Quick maffs: the watch itself is $160. If you have it for 3 years with the subscription (including the 6 free months), you've paid an additional $300 for the subscription, a total of $460 for the watch. That's enough for a medium to high-end Garmin, which is a major upgrade from a Fitbit Charge. NUTS.
@@paulscorner ah yeah, makes sense for security reasons. Don't want somebody galavanting around with ur stolen Fitbit buying burgers or other things that can besmirch ur healthy image.
The charge 5 seemed to have a big issues with the hearttracker & GPS at the same time. If you wear it tightly so the heart tracker is precise, the GPS will lose connection all the time and vice versa. Is that still the case with the Charge 6?
One of the many things that i do not like my charge 6 is that, sometimes i have to tap on the watch surface to see my steps count, unlike xiao mi, step count is always on display without finding it.
is it possible to control in Charge 6, music playing in Spotify app in android phone ? i heard lady suggestin music controls in Charge 6 are not generic and only control RU-vid music ? thanks
I have had a charge 4 for a while. Mainly used to monitor walking/ steps / sleep and track weight. I wear it on my right alongside a traditional watch on my left wrist. I am an Apple phone user. Would you say its worth upgrading? How does the size of the 6 compare to the 4? Thanks for a great video!
I am in the same situtation. I bought two different wristbands so it looks more like a bracelet. I use it exactly like you do. I get a full week with a charge. This 6 needs to be charged more. The sleep tracking is the same as the 4. I decided to buy another one (ebay) because I know in a matter of time they will be gone. For us, there really is no benefit to upgrading.
I have a charge 5 and you don't have to use the pin every time you pay but if you haven't paid for anything in awhile it will prompt you to re-enter your pin....tho I'm not sure of the time limit
I like fitbit but the band mechanism change lost me after charge 2. My charge 4 band connection broke not even after 1 year of normal use, whereas my charge 2 lasted much longer with more abuse. Sadly fitbit has changed their rugged design to a cheap disposable design. Features dont matter if you cant even wear it anymore. After being a fitbit fan for almost a decade, until they go back to the old charge 1/2 band connection design, im pretty much switching over to maybe garmin or something.
Google puts me off from buying a new fitbit. I'm probably going to go for a Sasmung watch instead. Google plus its subscitpions are the reason I'm switching to a Samsung smart watch, otherwise I'm not a fan of smart watches either.
I think you're paying enough for the watch that all subscriptions should be included.. all of these companies nowadays seem to try and bleeeeeed the last cent out of you . . vampires..
I had a Fitbit charge 5 that didn’t last a full two years and the battery life was very short. In my opinion all Fitbit watches are trash. Thank God my insurance paid for it instead of me wasting my own money.
Disappointing to hear that the HR is still laggy and not accurate... that was their "big new thing" lol. Also.. what the heck is with that PIN for google wallet? Hopefully it lets me set a pin of 1111 haha.
Fitbit products are not Google products at all. I have a Charge 5 and Google Wallet is not YET implemented, hence NFC is for nothing... (just to mention an example). I think FitBit products don't worth the extra price you pay for them...
the problem i had with the charge 5 was the activity zone notifications which you'd get regardless of setting's, and have to keep sleep-mode on to not get a notification of.
ugh maybe Ill just return it unopened.. between this kind of crap and the google wallet pin and STILL laggy heart rate detection.. my samsung watch seems like a better option.
My big question is, did they fix the GPS? The onboard GPS on my Charge 5 sucked. Because of where they put the receiver, if I had the tracker tight enough to track my heart rate accurately, the GPS didn't work. If I had it loose enough for the GPS to work, it didn't track my heart rate.
well if this acts like fitbit 5 than is garbage, expensive and after 6months of free premium, cost you 10$ per month to use the watch at full potential in 2 years of use it will get more expensive as an apple watch, can't record oxygen level whenever you want, it does it only during sleep. bad EKG recording, doesn't recognize any workouts and it has only 5, walking, running, swiming, biking, weight lifting. but everything has to be started before it get recorded except steps. Doesn't hold charge if you have it always on screen even is dimed at minimum (max 2 days). so basically if you decide to buy this product you will have heart rate, steps , and time at a very expensive price. also not to forget to mention you don't get notify your subscription will be renewed automatically with no refund policy, even if you are not in the possession of their product anymore. at this price point if you have an Iphone you could go for a apple watch even older versions. I got it as a present and I'm trying to sell this garbage and now I'll go for a apple watch after trying my girlfriend device.
The easiest way I found to use my card for payments, is to make the code 0000. Lmao. I know, I know.. if I lose it, I’ll be sorry. Hopefully I’ll realize before that and lock my card before that happens lol but it works for me 🤷🏻♀️
Price cut is good. Fitbits were ALWAYS over priced for what they offered. Thank God they went to a colour screens finally. Like what decade are we in? Not bad for Fitbit. Still for entry level fitness people, but not bad.
The battery life is absolutely rubbish if you walk/hike it won't last one day if you walk more than 17 miles. will last longer if you don't move around mutch
since fitbit is GOOGLE, its just garbage.... I use to love my charge 3 and 4.. the 5 it was a biiiiig fail, they need it to replace it 3 times!! and now this one looks like exactluy the charge 4 again, with colors..... I think once my charge 5 stop again to work i will change to Garmin, i repeat, since they are Google the crash bad..
