Very helpful, thanks - I've just bought a second-hand FZ6 and the shop wouldn't fit a plate for me - you made it look a lot simpler than Givi's instructions ! Safe riding :-)
the extra holes are so it can be used with the correct shaped plate to fit it to a piaggio mp3 type trike ergo the plate is bent into shape fitted under the rear seat, i know i have one,
Givi's weight ratings for the rack are a joke. They pretty much mean that you'll be overweight on the monorack with just about an empty box. You'll find many Fazer owners who have exceeded this weight safely and without incident, I have many times. Of course legally, I'm recommending NOTHING ;) The Monorack really is a quality piece of kit though. Fit it correctly, pack your box correctly and ride appropriately :o) Thanks for watching!
Good video I modified a monokey system for my bike (no standard kit is made for my old bike). I also got a second hand top box for a bargain price, works well.
Is there anything you can use or that Givi sells to close the hole in the rack when a top case is not on it? Otherwise it looks like you have a donut hole on the back of the bike and it's virtually useless since stuff will fall through the hole. Not sure why Givi would make a product like this....very frustrating as I don't want to have a top case on all the time but would like to take advantage of a rack on the back of my bike.
Thank you for a great video, but I have a question if I may... I have a ZZR600 with SHAD (not Givi) arms, and I am looking to fit a Givi plate so I can use Givi luggage. Looking at the mounting arrangement on top of the SHAD arms, I think that the Givi M5 plate is a good candidate for fitting. The problem is that I don't know the dimensions between the mounting holes on the Givi M5 plate, none of my bike friends have the M5 plate, and Givi support in the UK is... well... you know.. Any chance you can measure and let me know the distance between the 4 mounting holes? TIA - Mike
is it true that givi dont recommend fitting the bigger box as fazers have a weak sub frame ? i'm looking to buy a fazer 1000 you see and really need a top box. cheers
They are just a close suction type fit so only require repeated gentle prying with a slim screwdriver around the perimeter of the stopper to eventually lever it up.
