Great idea / set up - thanks!. Suggest applying silicone behind the sail track, before fixing pot rivets - to stop water getting in holes drilled in side of caravan
I just bought a class C 4wd Rv that 21’ (0.305 meters) and saw the kick ass shower tent on line. It looks like a great product. The mesh pockets and towel rope with cover inside are slick. I’m definitely stealing your idea on attaching it. Excellent job 🇺🇸🇦🇺 👍🏼
Sorry if I am posting again, I thought I had posted a comment, but can't find it, so having another go. As I said in first comment, what a well structured video, you put all the info and steps in a logical order answering questions as one would naturally think of them. Only thing is I can't find the "hook" strip you refer to, only the sail track at Bunnings, at least online as I don't want to drive there to find only the one. Any ideas of what it may be called, so I can try elsewhere, but searched all the aluminium strips online, unless it is listed as something else. Thanks again for taking time in your day to make this info available, because I am going to do my best to fit one to our van

Kick Ass dude. I was going to fix mine permanently but you've convinced me otherwise. I bought a different brand shower tent though and only came with 4 bolts, hopefully Bunnings has them (probably not). Cheers mate
great video, Ive been trying to come up with something similar for my ute canopy.. simple slide on slide off, the slide onto the inner roof or wall for storage.. this is just what I needed..
Glad it helped, we used it this long weekend and works great. I will get a few extension poles to support the frame as all the showers could do with a bit more stability
its a great video and idea. the use of bunnings parts was great as everyone is near a bunnings. was a hard watch though if you have decent speakers as your audio is very tinny ( heaps of treble) and no bass and the echo was rough

Thank you! We are off to Bunnings to buy Sail Tracks. Maybe you can edit the video at the point where the screws are being ground off and stop anyone starting to do that as you found a way better solution at the 12 minute mark! We watched the whole video but imagine if someone was following it minute by minute! Thanks again, you’re right there aren’t videos with instructions like this!
Awesome video and great idea so it's given me inspiration to do something similar. One question, did you use butal tape to seal the aluminium strip onto the van?
I did not do it on my van, but it would be good on a van that has a external panel and frame on it. My van is a solid panel van so no water can get inside
Hi Mate. Great vid. I’m about to start the instal on mine. I have those levelling feet from Bunnings, but can’t seem to get the bolt out that comes with it. Did they actually unscrew, or did you have to pull them out of the foot? Thanks in advance.
You can leave it on if you like, I have removed mine as the bags get full of red dust. Hence the removal option. I would put a screw in the ends of the brackets if you plan on leaving it there all the time to help secure it on ruff roads
Do you have the part number or a link to the part that goes onto your awning? I can't find it on bunnings website and I'm 2 hours from the nearest one. Thanks
It is just called sail track, it’s used for any king of material which has rope in it, the in Bunnings the other piece is just a piece of alloy that is bent in a hook shape
Hi there, what a great well put together video, almost professional. I also have same problem as other user here as I can't find the aluminium section with the hook. I can find sail track on their website, but not the hook one. Also don't want to do the drive and perhaps only find the 1 part. The hook section is quite critical to making this work. Thanks again for thinking of others and putting this out for info, because we were just trying to figure out a solution because 4 wd has max tracks on 1 side and awning on other with solar panel on top. So never thought of van. Fortunately I went and measured and only 1 spot it will fit, as we have windows and doors etc all over the van sides. 8 windows, which is great for views, but bad for adding anything. Appreciate your time and effort!
