Fitting A Tow-bar To Our 2014 Vauxhall Insignia A
With the lock-down easing and lots of things opening back up again here in Wales, we wanted to add the addition of a tow-bar to the Insignia, for the bike carrier, the small and larger trailer.
We ordered the kit from eBay and it was from Germany in two days, the fitting was pretty straight forward but the electrics was another story unfortunately, so that's to be continued.

Buy a dedicated loom im sure it plugs in to the boot module. Can you mount the neck after the black trim is fitted? If so cut a square hole then bolt the neck on 👍👍

Yes, I ordered one yesterday. £100 for the look what a nightmare. It needs to be wired through the car, to the dashboard and then also to the fuse box.

it was an ebay purchase, that was delivered from germany. the loom was returned to poland though..

So what happened about cutting the hole out as ive got this exact towbar to fit on my 66 hatch at the weekend?

I have the 2nd video coming soon I just need edit it. I used a step drill to make the hole, and filed the excess off. Did you buy a specific wiring loom as a universal will not fit :(

Could of shown where the bits are around the bumber, if just got a towbar and will be having ago at it, but I'm not to sure where all the clips are to take the bumper off, if you could help I would be over the moon cheers and good vid mate.

No i think its the standard floor for this model

You really have my sympathy there William, I HATE electrics.....always have, I'm sure that you'll solve it along with the auto electrician. All them white wires are just there to make it a dealer only fit part so they can rip your wallet apart 🤬, best of luck mate.

@@graemew7001 when the swearing starts it's time to stop and start again another day. i tend to be pretty chilled when i work on cars it may take me longer than others but i get there in the end, cool calm and collected me :)

@@graemew7001 100% i have a video filmed that needs editing and i hurt my finger big time. i let out a little scream / cry and then carried on.... oh my that hurt!
