Good video. I'm in USA and am installing 2 of these on my widebody charger. Loud and quiet is great but my main reason to get this was for the ability to cold start with valves closed. Game changer for people who respect their neighbors at 5am 😆

I got a Schmiedmann rear end. Low and rich rumble noise. Not too prominent but very noticeable for anyone to tell it is not stock but not fart can tuned as well. That is what I would recommend to anyone. It just goes so much better with the car.

I just drilled a hole through my exhausts and it's basically the same as when ya got the flaps open, anyone wanting to do the same just look up free E46 exhaust mod on RU-vid, takes like 10 mins to do and costs nothing, tail pipes looks nice though. Pretty sure some e46's came with a flap so in that case look up the golf tee mod 🤷‍♂️

My friend, I like to save money where I can but this isnt a mod, its just destroying stuff. Buy a welder, it costs less than a backbox and you can make anything you like, on your current hack or the next dozen.

@@Flozman1982 yes and no, if you cut the back box off and just weld pipes on you get an annoying whistle on decel, you could get a backbox from the scrapyard cheap from another car that could sound ok but that's still money spent + the price of a welder. In my case it's my drift car/daily so I just want to be able to hear my car better when on track so I'm happy with the route I took, or you could just buy the backbox in this video but that's hardly what I'd call a budget build item. Each to their own I guess 😁✌️

I've got a 330ci with back box delete into quad pipes same tips as yours and the sound difference over stock is insane.

@@JackMcNeillCars the standard 330ci facelift exhaust has a valve in one of the two tips that's closed on idle and low revs but opens when driving to keep noise down on the drive in the morning.

Why use a vacuum actuated valve instead of just an electric valve? Also, I would think that an electric valved system could give potential to adjust the valve. I also have read/seen vids of active exhausts seizing etc.

electric valves are much more unreliable. Salt, weather, corrosion can mess up the wiring. Vacuum is much faster and lasts much longer

my 325i has some big ol exhaust on it from a previous owner, sounds good when you floor it but most of the time when you're 50% throttle and less it sounds annoying, all bass, no rawness. Just trying to figure out if the way the auto box lets the engine revs climb lazily is contributing to that drone as I would hate to spend hundreds on something like this and find out it sounds exactly the same because of that auto gearbox 😅

Your 330 probably has this from stock, look up the golf tee mod, if not just look in the tail pipes and you'll see a bit of metal making the pipe almost half the size, drill through that and your car will sound like his with the flaps open, just RU-vid search free E46 exhaust mod. Unless you have money to throw down the drain that is 👌✌️

@@golf-vi2cw what one was that the golf tee or the drilled holes? Mine didn't have the flap so I just made big ass holes in the metal reducing the Id of the pipes, not crazy loud but loud enough as my main issue was not being able to hear the car when drifting and seeing as I slide into walls I went for the cheap option rather than spend money to crush a new backbox, the other alternative for me is to cut the box off n just weld some pipe on but that makes it have some weird pinging whistle sound on decel. Edit, or do like my mate did with his and get a back box off a scooby from the scrappy, it sounds quite nice ✌️

Most E46 Sport Models rear bumper valance clearance for exhaust tips are about 7" in diameter. Therefore a twin tip with 3" each tip should give that aggresive look. 2.5" is too small. I have a twin tip 3" each rolled top for my E46
