i love how luna is not stick thin like most dancers and she still dances so lightly and gracefully .......

I love that the Freed shoe makers are mainly beer drinking dudes, creating these beautiful, delicate-looking shoes. I once temped at Victoria Secret and was shocked that most of the lingerie designers were elderly women wearing cool glasses. Craftspeople are truly a different breed.

Story plot idea: Ballerina falls in love with her favorite maker. They get married he makes shoes for her and he is like so famous for his shoes. Anyway, he retires due to maybe an injury or he becomes a stay at home dad who knows. But he keeps making shoes for her and people are losing their minds over it. Like did she stock up??? Are the shoes so exclusive that I'm not good enough to know how to buy them???

I'm somebody who does NOT do ballet, never have, yet I could see the difference between the Wine Glass ones and the Star ones! It's not the look of the pointe shoe, but when she stands up, how the arch of her foot curves! I can't decide between the Wine Glass and the Wing Block!!!

Freeds website has a page with some mini bios and pictures of each maker. B has a full bio and picture. Star only lists his years of experience, which is the same as B, and he has no picture. It could very well be the same guy! ETA clearly I typed this before finishing the video. Miss Luna took the words right outta my mouth!

I just got fit by Freed when I was in London and I love mine! I’m in classic fish maker now. I also learned that if you can buy them when you’re in England they’re soooo much cheaper than buying them over here so I stocked up.

I love that even though some of the ppl here don't dance, they're interested in pointe shoes. I'm a dancer, but not trained in ballet. However, pointe shoes are so pretty and fascinating!

Wow! Pointe sizing? I now 54 years old, but would love to get back into dancing. When I was younger and a US size 7.5 - 8, I was being fitted into size 3.5 pointe shoes. (Yes it hurt!!!!) I am so glad to see the improvements in pointe shoe fitting. In the 1980's there was this trend to squeeze someone into a much smaller size. No wonder ballet dancers had such problems with their feet!!! Many thanks Josephine for your insights into pointe shoe fitting. I am so happy that the younger girls and women are not going through the torture that happened 40 years ago.

I love seeing a more in depth fitting. Seeing them try on different shoes and seeing which one they like best and the interaction.

My best friend was a dancer throughout our childhood and into our early adult years. I had other activities of my own keeping me busy, but when I wasn't doing those, I was in the studio with her watching rehearsals. Every recital, online videos, SYTYCD...she made me obsessed with dance! I really do LOVE it...but sadly, although I've got great feet, I have zero rhythm or grace, lol. This video was so interesting to me...the shield shoe clearly stood out as the best to me, even as a non-dancer. I love learning about all the nuances of the fitting process and the way each dancer customizes them to their anatomy specifically. 💜🖤

I love Luna so much she is so inspiring watching her videos about her struggling with her relationship with food really helped me and it is nice to see a dance that isn’t so stick thin I can say that I have really struggled with this as a dancer not looking like a “woman”

I’m a rock climbing and the loose shoe thing is true in in my sport as well. I started with shoes the same size as my street shoes and now my climbing shoes are a full size and a half smaller than my street shoes because I get so much more control lol

I wear Freeds, and I LOVE them!! They are comfortable and really easy to break in! I do jet glue my box before I wear them. I wear wineglass, so pretty and feel great!! Also I can make mine last 2 weeks with jet glue!!💗💗

Wineglass was so pretty! It makes me feel better that Luna's feet were swollen from heat. I bought new dress shoes and work shoes in the winter. I CAN'T wear them in triple digit weather. My feet were just shredded.

I just switched from Suffolks to Freeds and the rounded bottom is so different from what I'm used to.

I miss my pointe shoe days. I never had my own pair, I danced in my sister's old shoes which is so bad, I never had my own proper fitted shoes. I really want to have my own shoes now but I don't do ballet anymore
