Hi thanks i liked ur style of explanation its concise but complete. I was looking for few things. First, i have harry potter r1234m set. Its analog dc. Want to make dcc, which is best decoder.
On Saturday I fitted one into my Bon Accord A1 but had to get a bit creative because the decoder was in the loco and there wasn’t room for a speaker. I ended up extending the wires to run into the tender.
Second question, once i install dcc decoder, can i install sound decoder as well? I think the pin is already used by dcc decoder, so how will sound decoder fit in? And where ?
That's a bit more knowledge I have learned, thanks for your video Dave, question , I have just been looking on your website for pre owned locomotives, what does it mean when it says converted to three rail, many thanks David, 👍👍👍.
Hi David, glad you enjoyed the video. Any items that have "three rail" have been made, or converted, for use on a three rail pickup system such as vintage Hornby Dublo track or some European design track, which has an extra rail for picking up the electrical current. They won't run on a traditional two rail setup but are great options for those who have the traditional systems.
Hi Dave, I found a TTS decoder in my box of bits and bobs. No information with it. Is there a way to find out which decoder it is? Is there a reference on the PCB itself? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.
Hi Michael, there's nothing on the PCB - the only way to identify it would be from the sounds installed. Feel free to send us over a quick video to info@hattons.co.uk and we'll do our best to let you know what soundfile it is.
Hi, Just fitted a tts sound decoder, all seemed ok, locomotive answers to New address, sound will activate, and speed steps will increase, if Locomotive speed step is a slow creep, I can stop locomotive, but if I increase speed steps to a higher level, decoder no longer answers to speed steps and is a run away, also sound will not answer to any commands etc. Any ideas.
Hi, thanks very useful video, what TTS decoder would you suggest for Hornby King Class (TTS King decoder is no longer available), I have been told Castle class, which are available), cheers ...Drew
A silly question, sorry I am a newbie. I wanted to build a test track as well but thought it has to be a closed loop in order to make it work? Seems like in the video it works without a having closed circuit. can I have something similar at home with a normal digital controller plugged into a single straight power track, say R8206? Thank you
Hi, there's no such thing as a silly question :-) You don't need a closed loop and you can run an 'end to end' layout if you wish. Check out our video which contains some great tips for starting out in the hobby too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TVd0DRgot5k.html
Bonjour je constate que les décodeurs vendus par Hornby il ne donne pas des indications si ce pour loco vapeur ou une loco diesel.??? si vous save comment les reconnaître ce code R81??? ou R71?. Meci d'avance
Hello decoders Are, from Hornby, we can change the are, we can talk about a CV, or can find it How to recognize codes for Diesel locomotives and what are for Steam locomotives? Regards Raymond
Does the TTS sounds replace your DCC control chip or work in conjunction with it. Also how do you mount if your pickup is in the locomotive not the tender?
Hi Andrew, the TTS decoders include everything needed to run a loco on DCC so they replace any Digital decoders you already have installed. I'd recommend a look at the inside of your locos to see if you can fit the speaker in the locomotive, or install a pair of wires from the loco to the tender to install your speaker there.
Hornby have produced re-runs of some of their popular decoders including the Class 37 and 66, so we may see other reruns in the future. Keep an eye on our website for the latest lists.
Bonjour les décodeurs Sont, de chez Hornby, on peut changer le sont, on nous parler d'un CV, ou peuton le trouve Comment reconnaître les code pour des locomotives Diesel et cet qui sont pour des locomotives Vapeur ? Cordialement Raymond
Hi Andrew, Hornby have released a TTS decoder for the Castle (R8110) however this isn't available currently. Keep an eye on our pre-owned listings in case one becomes available, although Hornby may re-release it as a new item again in the future too.
Hi Steven, we've suspended our Digital Fitting service so that we can make more room for staff around our premises to ensure their safety at the current time. The latest status on the services we are offering can be found here: bit.ly/3qKn9rS
Bonjour sur les boites de décodeurs, qu’on peut changer, les son, ou on peut trouve ce produit. Cordialement Raymond Bonjour sur les boites de décodeurs, qu’on peut changer, les son, ou on peut trouve ce produit. Cordialement Raymond
Hi Looks like your using the ANTI STATIC bag the decoder comes in . These are conductive and should never be used for live components as they are conductive.
