Nice one Bruce, I built a Justin Rhodes inspired chickshaw myself a while back, although mine was wooden. For your sake put the access to the eggs outside the frame if possible. Great to have the girls to help, job done in no time!
@@OffGridBruce maybe it was my poor design for the slide out boxes but when I added them externally I got better nesting material retention (less mess) and easier access to the eggs. It did require a bit more design but I felt it was worth it. Pros and cons both ways but mine worked better for me and my kiddies.
Hey Bruce, my wife and I watch every episode as you post them, and we have a question. Did your Dad teach you to be a mechanic, or did you learn on your own? David and Lillian in Oklahoma.
Hey guys. My dad is a heating engineer and has a carpentry background too. I always liked to work on the building sites with him on the school holidays. I did a mechanic apprenticeship with Mercedes commercial vehicles when I was 16 so that’s where my mechanic skill set comes from. Thanks for tuning in :)
Hey Bruce. Love the videos. I messed around a lot with these Chinese diesel heaters when they first started arriving on our shores. The bigger unit is actually a 5kW unit, despite what the badge may say. The burn chamber and heat exchanger are all much bigger than the 2kW one, so you may find yourselves cooking a bit in the van with that much power! Cheers!
Morning Bruce, I fitted a 3kw Vevor to my van recently. Very pleased with the result. I have just ordered a Vevor split charge relay as charging the leasure battery was beginning to be a trudge. Best of luck
Hey Richard it’s lovely having heat in the van. there is a general discount code in the description if you order anything else from them in the future. Save a few quid :)
Hello Bruce Love the Mercedes camper not many electrics on her Heater is a game changer is the diesel being used from the vans tank or another tank great work What type of tyres did you change over to Girls are following in there dads fot steps painting 🎨😊
I love that year of sprinter. The fuel comes from a stand pipe in the vehicle fuel tank. The tyres I have are all terrain. I had different ones on for the test as the fronts fouled the anti roll bar when jacked right up
Hi Bruce, why did you need to put your old tyres/wheels back on? Were the new ones to get your Irish registration? Our bees have made it through the winter but I’ll be popping their magic fleece on tonight as it’ll be below 0° 💛☘️🐝☘️💛
The other tyres were just to get me through the test. These ones touch the anti roll bar when jacked up fully. Not really a prob but would fail the test. Our bees are very busy right now
@@OffGridBruce good shout u will be surprised how many eggs u will get a week ...are u getting POL ones . .I have one chicken and she has laid everyday since a year ago Dec 9 apart from maybe 10 days and she is a light Sussex Rhode Island X 🙂
Love that you have your girls helping with your all the welding and painting and mechanical jobs too. Their range of skillsets are already impressive and ever growing. Big hugs to them.
