FIVE 1969-S Doubled Die Lincoln Pennies That Sold For Nearly $500,000 Total! 

BlueRidge I'm like you, ever since I was 9 years old (1979) and a family friend got me started collecting coins, one of the first things he taught me was "look for a 1969-S doubled die and you can sell it for a bunch of money" Well 40 years have passed since then and I'm still looking for that elusive coin but I'm hoping theres still one out there with my name on it. I cannot believe what I found. My father who fought in World War II loved to collect pennies but he just collected them and gave them to me and in the middle of all that I found the book from 1959 to 1975 with every coin in it and I'm sure you know in that area there are some wonderful coins the 64 well and everything up to the 75 and from 59 to the 64 everything and they are in the same condition I just can't believe he had that book. there are some very good expensive coins in that book. I will not be sleeping tonight.

I have all 1960 to 1969 D double dye set. I've horde coins and I honestly don't know what to do because I have other hole sets even a 1972 S as well as full silver quarters and a set of 1776-1976 bicentennial quarters probably 7.

I recently found a 1969 s penny in excellent condition. It's RED . Can see the memorial steps pretty good with a 3 X to 5X magnifying glass. Don't know if it is a double die yet.

I was looking at a 69 s while watching your video I didn't see full on doubling just a little on the edge of a couple of the letters on in god we trust. On the edge of the w, the r and the t is where I see errors which could be a strike or re-punch errors idk Thanks for the video.

I'm going to ask a silly question, BR. Has there ever been more than one particular example of ANY doubled-die for a given year? In other words, are there any DD 1969-S, 1955, etc. with different doubling diagnostics/fields or is there only one 1969-S DD or 1955 example? I'm quite familiar with machine doubling and I know there's an epidemic of people thinking they have the genuine 1969-S DD and then they share it in a forum, only to find out it's not true doubling, but is just machine doubling. I hate to be one of those people, but I have a 1969-S with what appears to be true and extreme doubling. However, the doubling is not the side-by-side doubling of the motto, but rather, top-to-bottom doubling of the letters. The reason I can't just dismiss the coin as machine doubling, is the fact that the doubled letters are not at all flat or shelf-like in appearance. The doubling is very pronounced in the 'R' the 'S' and the 'T' of "TRUST." Both R's...both S's and both T's are equally raised and equally 3 dimensional. In fact, under the scope, you can even see where the middle of the top 'R' bends upward toward the scope where it crosses over the 'R' underneath it. I keep telling myself if there were a secondary and unique set of doubled dies for the 1969-S Cent, certainly numismatics would be aware of it. I mean, I'm sure they wouldn't press one coin and then pitch the dies. Lol. I simply must find time to join one of the coin communities and share these crystal-clear images. I'm very curious to see what everyone has to say. I promise, in advance, I'm not going to get ugly and argue with anyone, I just need to know. In light of the recent machine-doubled 1969-S that you told us about, that sold for over $1,000 I'm confident this would bring a pretty penny, even if it's just machine-doubling, it's pretty insane.
