​@FarmersWifeHomestead I hate surgery, so both knee ops were not my choice... would preferred to not be there. But it had to done. The 1ste was due to a serious fall and a few years later I struggled to drive with my right leg... apparently due to scar tissue from previous surgery. With 1st op I felt so delicate that I "spared" my R leg and drew it behind me for months. The muscles got weak cause I also didn't do fisio properly initially. Went back to surgeon and he told me to put my hands on both thighs and flex the muscles. The better side's thigh muscles popped up strong and clearly. The "baby" side's thigh muscles had almost no reaction. Always remember it is the muscles just higher up that works the joints just lower down and muscles of the next section. I caused myself a year's extra pain cause I "babied" my initial injury/operation so much. When I committed to exercise it properly, it gpt better so quickly! Years later I had to get a 2nd op die to scar tissue in the joint and I learned my lesson- I got mobile ASAP and I healed within a week!... instead of 18 months! Both knees were heard but R more than L. Sounds like very similar injury than yours. So still compensating for the R knee when doing steps, but the family now knows to support me up and especially down stairs, and it's not a big thing currently... but... I can warn them when bad weather is coming... my knees feel it a few days in advance! :)
