Trx is well over a 100k, srt8 is worth about 60k, red eye about 100k as well so that’s like 300k right there , idk how they got the price for the last two but all together I would say 380k at most
@@vita8208 high markups are their for a reason you know.. if they don’t have any cars for sale, they have no money, so they price them high so they don’t loose any money
@@NoodleBoy101 ain’t no way chop shop tryna move full car of hot parts vs getting easy 50% retail out the country no brainier, they literally headed straight for the port
That's okay, I'm sure all 5 had factory installed 5k worth of Lo-Jack, Window Etch, mandatory Anti-Theft and some other bullshit that dealers add on to MSRP. Goes to show none of that crap works. Shame that Dodge made it so easy for these guys to open and start vehicles without even having some kind of key fob signal boosters that car thiefs normally use. This should be scary to owners of new Dodges, even if you put your key fob in a faraday box far away from the vehicle, it seems a thief with this tech will have no problem starting and driving off straight out of the driveway, probably have no trouble opening the garage door too.
I could be wrong but a loophole by taking advantage of onstar like roadside assistance on call operater service. I suspect the laptop is to get every diagnostic info ( via app)on each vehicle to match every vehicle . It easier than the cell phone screen cluster. The other is cellphone sync to each vehicle and since all key fobs are close range inside the shop then the roadside assistance can unlock each vehicle hands free( unknowingly) opens the locked doors. The key fobs are communicating 24/7 when not asleep(BMW).The cellphones are activated via app or other( I'm no expert) when the app is used. A co worker ( not likely) but I likely suspect is a trusted customer acted covertly during car shopping. I'm no expert.
Good job NBC2 News, thanks for the informative video on how the car got stolen, what tech the thieves used to start the vehicles, and how people can prevent their cars from being stolen in the same manner from their driveway or any parking lot for that matter!! Useless
They used the laptop to unlock and drive the cars by copying the key fob signal that was left inside unprotected. To prevent this, they make little pouches to put ur fob in that blocks the signal👍 But in the case of the dealership he must’ve left his fobs somewhere near where they were setup, they only have a range of about 200 feet.
Can’t feel bad for any car dealership… they literally made a practice of fucking over their customers. Plus that was a Rolex on his arm.. hope they bring them cars back for annual maintenance
@cristianm6706 there was a time when u can buy cars directly from car manufacturers dealerships felt the need to use franchise law in the name of "we are protecting consumers" they achieved this with help of politicians.
@@cristianm6706 market price is the price dealers charge. they make a small amount because they get cars at wholesale. Generally 6-12% less then MSRP. Dealership make the bulk of their money on used cars, and maintenance. They give you 5k for a trade in and sell it for 12k. Maintenance is also a huge markup. A water pump for my chevy was $220. The dealer wanted to charge me $1200 to fix it. I watched a YT video and i did it myself with tools from walmart. under $300.....
Insurance will pay Invoice for these cars. He lost at least $100K in dealer markups! These cars don't sale for invoice, not even at MSRP! A lot higher than that!!!
Well done. After the initial reaction: 1st thought is how. Once that was answered those guys should be offered a job. 2nd thought: well calculated and coordinated. Alot to learn from this.
Lol the guys knew they weren’t gonna get caught they were so calm with everything I Bett they took the cars back for service and the dealership ain’t even notice lol
theres a pretty big black market in miami and other sect. of FL once they get there, they can sell them for money or remodel them to a new color and whetever else. insane lol
The owner was in on it.. a struggling dealership who wanted to sell 5 cars quick left the keys in the car so they can get stolen and he can claim the insurance money on them.
I dunno about good taste 🤷🏾♂️ but they definitely grabbed what’s considered to be the most popular vehicles to be seen in,.. Mopars and Jeep’s are high on the Jack or get killed list for sure
If it was a family owned dealership who works hard and doesn't screw over customers I'd feel bad. But that looks like a big dealership who screws over people who can't afford the deals they give them. Good riddance
I'm not condoning theft, but good. Those cars shouldn't be that expensive and i'm sure they've been on the lot for over a year because no one can afford them. Stealing from small, local business or working class people is one thing, but stealing from a multi million dollar company that probably treats all their employees like dogs is another.
Dealership owner says he feels violated lmao give me a break. These sleazy dealerships charge all of us buyers insane fees and violate US, i feel this was well deserved.
I always feel bad for the people who saved up and bought one to get it stolen but I can’t say the same for the dealer ship owners as it always seems there tying to Sleez you out of a few extra thousand dollars got on the thieves in this case
Isn't insurance the one who gives you the money back? Is there a counter to that other than having to wait for the dealer to make the car you want since you get your money back?
Then I'm guessing you have never had anything stolen from you? Even if you get paid back or compensated, its still frustrating that your stuff got stolen.
Even if insurance covers the loss, his rates will go through the roof for at least the next five years if he has no other claims. So one way or another, he'll wind up paying out of pocket. That's how business works Danny. Theft ALWAYS costs the victim.
I don’t like to see this happen but at the same time I’d rather see it happen to a dealership than a consumer. The dealership now knows what it feels like to be violated. The people that you really need to blame are the car manufacturers that have made is so easy for thieves to steal cars. When will the government step in and say enough is enough car theft is costing everyone money. The government should step in and put new requirements in place on the car manufacturers to make it more difficult to steal cars.
Called ToughBook! It's just as a scanner that shops use for diagnostic or performance. It's sold off tool trucks. That's how locksmiths reset keyfob of keyless start.
Lol I work at a dealership We have customers get towed in all the time because they lose all their keys to the car and there’s no way to start it . All I do is hook up a laptop with the right software I can start the car access all the computer information in less than a minute you could even program two brand new remotes in under 3 minutes .
@@q8fly. No u dont. I hooked mine to the on/off switch. battery power means nothing. Nothing gets reprogrammed. I have a 2018 Trackhawk and it woiks flawlessly.
This dude has 5000 cars and he’s crying about being ‘violated’ about 5 cars that his insurance covers. He’s actually gonna make out better than if he sold them. Then this one lol - “Wow the audacity of people, like how can you???” - Meanwhile, he’s selling those cars for 30% over their value through 5-20% financing rates.
well technology.. everyone want those fancy digital key cards instead of a good ol trusty lock and key. Its obviously not right, and those guys are bound to get locked up, but dare i say better the dealership than peoples cars out on the street. Dealers have theft insurance. Average car owners dont.
This dealership owner earns alot but still can't hire security guard. This is how rich stays rich they never employee nobody then few salesman to run there business.
You know, you can get easily arrested because the dealership and report the VIN number of the car. When the car gets registered or a lisence plate, they can inform the police immediately. If they don't have a lisence plate, they are going to get stopped by cops. There is only 1 way they can get away with it. Would not recommend saying it publicly
omg, remember "the club" and "auto lock" why dont people use those anymore??? if they had "the club" on the car and/or "auto lock" no way they'd be able to steal it!!!
Well everybody since these cars officially have been stolen keep an eye out they may be on IAA or some other website at auction and you can probably get a deal.
Never take anything(especially Dodge Cars)that doesn’t belong to you-If Something’s Not or isn’t yours-Leave it alone-They should know better than that
