Cartier is my favorite heritage and big brand (independents are my other passion). I’m expecting a 1995 yellow gold Santos Dumont Ultra Flat right now. Beautiful Cintrees. I hope to have one of my own lumed dial Cartiers in the future.

Have to say that I disagree with the quality of a unique design. I believe that if it’s not something entirely unique piece(ie. dial configuration, crown, numerals etc) then it means the masion and and it’s patrons are not really progressing or having real respect for its original creators. The great design ideas, especially for Cartier, should have not followed the Virgil’s 3% rule but dedicated to create something mostly original but homage to the brand’s heritage. Just my personal opinion after following Roni Madhvani’s struggle in stop sharing some of his truly unique pieces. Amazing watches tho, really like how the luminous premise transited from Crush to Cintree in such a unique and beautiful way.

Beautiful pieces. However, this idea that the “best” and most aesthetically pleasing pieces are reserved for an elite group at the exclusion of other paying customers is tired. It makes me feel alienated and less interested in the brand. Whereas if I could obtain such items myself, I would be engaged and enthused. I’m getting bored of never being able to buy anything special.

It has always been this way. Only, now we have the internet for the privileged to brag to the world. If it makes you feel better, Wei wouldnt have these watches without his site being a mouthpiece for Cartier. He “paid” for them in publicity.
