Rick and Francis are the most underrated guitar players in the world! When i was at school (long long ago...) my classmates always said to me that they were boring, playing the same song again and again. Quo will always be my favourite band. Till i die..

Rossi is so creative! There's some other guy on RU-vid that plays Parfitt and Rossi's parts separately and Rossi's have so much character and just tons of great ideas. (Not that Rick isn't great!)

This is a very interesting and informative video. Great to hear one or two songs that aren't the obvious hits. Big Fat Mama has always been one of my favourite Quo tracks - despite being one of the hardest Quo songs to play. Despite their apparent simplicity, Quo songs are easy to play badly. It's not just the notes or the chords, both Rossi & Parfitt played with a lot of aggression & attack and there are a lot of things - little syncopations or off-beats which aren't immediately obvious. I can play to a decent level but I can't get the hang of Parfitt's style or sound

I agree that Francis and Rick have never got the recondition they deserve. As for the John and Alan, just brilliant. Also why I'm on the horse, I hate the old "Three chord band" tag. It's an insult by people who are not musicians and have no idea of what they are talking about...

Try playing some of their tracks, they ain’t easy to play I can tell you! As a teenager me and my mates would rock out at the local disco, a guaranteed floor filler was Caroline, the crashing, heavy intro literally propelled us onto the dance floor where we gave it all we’d got. Great days where music was the collective pull along with girls and drink, heaven!!

Status Quo, in the '70s, was a hard-rocking band. You could not match their energy. Serious guitar players, those who say they are not are sadly mistaken. They are a different band today but I still like them, still solid players but not at the original energy. Age is cruel. Rock on Quo.

I live in the same town that Status Quo came from. 'Coulsdon'. I broke my arm very badly coming off my bike on the same road that they had their 1st house, which is not that nice of a house at all. Is on Lion Green road, you can find the road on google maps or whatever. My dad also used to tutor this girl who then lived in the same house that they lived at after that one, which is on the Brighton road, which was a bloody nice house indeed. But then they obviously got very successful zand moved to this ginormous house somewhere in the Webb Estate in Purley and lived the good life doing buckets of cocaine or whatever. Michael Buble is a resident there now as well. Unsure if Francis Rossi is still there or what he's doing, his sons own a coffee shop near-by though, I know that. Research that one, pay them a visit. Not that much of a fan of the band myself. Into way more technical stuff, but they're fairly nostalgic for me I guess. used to hear them in my childhood in the car on cassettes when my dad was driving..
