We have lots of interesting articles on different topics, we have relevant information up to date.
Today we will talk about countries where it will be fastest for you to obtain citizenship.
If you don't have enough money to buy a passport through one of the Citizenship by Investment Programs you might still be able to obtain the second passport. It will take a little longer, but it is certainly doable.
1. Argentina - you could potentially obtain a passport in as little as two years
2. Peru - similarly to Argentina, you might be able to get citizenship in two years
3. Dominican Republic
4. Uruguay
5. Canada - probably the single best passport you can get in as little as 3 years!
Bonus:
Poland - you are able to get citizenship by marriage in 3 years,
Cape Verde - It is possible to get citizenship INSTANTLY if you marry a citizen. You don't even need to live there.

@@OffshoreCitizen I lives for 15 years in Paraguay and Argentina and had lot of contacts with people who lived in different countries: not bureaucrats protected by their state... just "real" people :) For me the key point is to have a place adapted to your activity and having the possibility to defend your interests with a fair justice. The rest: political system, tourism, food, is not a central issue because they are always "moving", according to the money you earn. To give you an axemple: you have much less individual freedom today in France (descrete political repression and segregation) than in Paraguay in 1980 (Stroesner's regime).

If you are from an Ibero-American country, Andorra, Portugal, Equatorial Guinea or the Philippines, you can obtain Spanish citizenship with two years of legal residence.
@jeremyleonbarlow
@jeremyleonbarlow 7 месяцев назад
If you are an American and you become resident in Puerto Rico for at least a year before moving to Spain the same rule applies as I understand it.
@hasturmish1820
@hasturmish1820 7 месяцев назад
@@jeremyleonbarlow I understand that you need to request the certificate of citizenship of Puerto Rico, which Spain accepts for the application for naturalization as an Ibero-American citizen. I do not know what the requirements are to obtain said certificate beyond being born in Puerto Rico or having at least one Puerto Rican parent. Maybe It could be possible that an American citizen without any ties to the island could request said certificate through a certain period of residence.
@jeremyleonbarlow
@jeremyleonbarlow 7 месяцев назад
@@hasturmish1820 if you are an American and have resided in Puerto Rico for at least one year, you can request a Puerto Rico citizenship certificate under the current law. This costs just $30 and you are considered a Puerto Rican citizen if you were either born in Puerto Rico, have one parent who was born in Puerto Rico or you are an American citizen who has lived in Puerto Rico for one year of residence, so with that Puerto Rican citizenship certificate, you potentially could reduce the time you as an American are eligible for Spanish citizenship to just 2 years at the time you apply and a 3 year period overall simply by becoming a resident of Puerto Rico and potentially enjoying Act 60 tax benefits in Puerto Rico during that period. The one drawback I see to Spanish citizenship is that Spain & Gibraltar have entered into a tax treaty that is as disadvantageous to Spanish citizens and tax residents as the French & Monaco tax treaty is to French citizens and tax residents. I mean the Spanish tax authorities being one of the more aggressive on the planet is a problem too, but 2 years or I guess 3 years really at a minimum to applying for an EU passport is only slightly longer than the expedited citizenship by investment in Malta and the Spanish passport is stronger than Malta currently.

Depends where you are buying but typically you're talking a minimum with fees of just slightly over €350k (there's a variety of projects so the investment amount varies and then you have slightly over €100k in fees to the government, lawyers etc. They are also quite strict on due diligence so their process isn't very fast and approval is far from guaranteed depending on the nature of your business/source of wealth/background. Timelines are harder to estimate these days with corona but expect 6 months depending.

I guess the question an applicant anywhere has to answer is "Why?". What do you seek as a result of this? Are you just looking for a 2nd passport, or do you want something better because your current passport is 'useless'? For a lot of my relatives a Canadian, Australian, or European passport is desired as a Vietnamese or Indian passport is a hassle. For people like me, countries in the Mediterranean are appealing particularly for retirement

Hello, my name is Eric and I'm a Czech-America. My mother is Czech and my father is American. I've had a question as well as my mom about citizenship in the Czech Republic. I'm currently 18, and the people in charge of citizenship in the Czech Republic weren't very helpful at all (meet in person and through calls). We have been trying since I was around 12 and now it's been 6 years and there's been no luck. My situation is a weird one as, the citizenship people in the Czech Republic said that both parents would have to sign and if one says no, then there is no way for me to become a citizen, and that I'd have to do this before I was 18 years old or I'll have to take the test (which they have made even more difficult than it already was) once I turn 18, or get married to a Czech citizen. My situation is that my father is in a way racist, he only likes America and doesn't want his children to have foreign citizenship as well as American, he hates people from other countries as well as immigrants, which is weird as he married my mom. However, I don't feel as though this information from the people in charge of citizenship is true as I've seen videos on youtube of others in EU nations where if you have a constant line of nationality from one of your parents, then you can receive it. If possible, could anyone who may know or has any knowledge upon this subject contact me, thank you. Comment or my email is Ericozabal17@gmail.com

Uruguay is 3 years only if you're married. if you're single, it's 5. Canada wants nothing to do with you if you're older. Also, Uruguay wants you to show proof of social integration. And as you mentioned, they are relatively strict about actual residency. In the first year, expect to have to be there for a minimum of 183 consecutive days, and only out of the country for a pretty small number of days. That said, it's my first choice.

@@OffshoreCitizen it used to be cheap but dodgy. Now it's expensive but very formal, 300k usd in escrow and in 30 days you can get your passport, ID and an document/invitation for the yearly ceremony where the king congratulates all the foreigners receiving cambodian citizenship. By investment in real estate is just about 1 million but apparently there isn't a "qualified investment or a time limit" so you could in theory just buy a plot of land for 1M and sell it again to another guy so that everyone gets nationality. Doing that it would cost about 4% of the plot value in tax stamps when you sell it to next guy (40k) but i guess they might not like if you abuse the system like that. Still i think that there the real possibility to set up something where you could invest into some real estate with 5% yearly return and effectively create a way for people to get the nationality almost for free (as long as you can access 1M in credit at about 1%/year) and something like that would make a killing as chinese love getting cambodian nationality as cambodia has very lax gambling laws and is non CRS and banking here is very easy. You can change your name to any version of your name in local language transliteration (for example if your surname is Hawk you could have INTRI as your surname but in practice you can change it just about as much as you like).

What is better, getting Paraguayan residency or going for full Argentinian citizenship? Do MERCOSUR residents have the same rights to live and work in other member states as nationals? From what I understand, one can get permanent residency very quickly in Paraguay and then the ID card could be used to move between member states without a passport. But nationals have the right to work in all member states as well?

I was wounded which eu country is way to becoming citizenship. I'm from USA and my wife is in Philippines. We both want to have kids, but we want to rise kid in better place. The number one thing I want is them having the option to go to college for free. Plus, it taking too long to get citizenship in USA. So I been hearing Germany and Portugal are best one to go with but what do you think is the best one. Also, I work at minimum wage job but I'm saving up much cash because of covid.

does citizenship means you have to give up youre current pasport ? latin american countries might not be the best choise if you like traveling to other countries im dutch and with my current pasport i can enter most countries for 90 days without aplying for a visa , they give me stamp upon arival and im ready to go i dont think they would be as lenient if you would have a pasport from say uruguay i have considered poland as its one of the cheaper countries in the european union and im free to live where i want within the european union same as an american in the united states the current war made me rethink that as its a little too close to the problem/fire at this moment and if things escalate poland could be one of the first countries that get invaded one thing is for sure i dont want to stay in the netherlands , its climate / prices / politics / general caracter of my fellow countrymen doesnt give me the warm fuzzies , i allso dont leave any people behind both family or friends im going to miss a lot think i need to make a list of wants and needs stuff like medical insurance and the quality of the local hospitals the weather the food and water quality housing and utillities the cost of moving youre household intoo that country (furniture apliances car etc) taxes banking language and how well they can speak english dutch or german general laws and prices / cost of living per month house rent and buy

Canada citizenship takes 9 if you’re lucky. Here is the breakdown: - 3 years waiting for pr - 3 years waiting to be eligible for citizenship - 3 years waiting for citizenship processing. In addition you must be physically present in Canada 3 out the last 5 years and have no criminal record and speak french or English.

I don't know how it was when the video was made, but now Argentina is a broken country: Inflation on skies, companies closing, legal incertainty issues (the government can set up max prices for your products), people literally starving and the "rich" ones are flying to Uruguay, Brazil, Chile and Colombia, it's the second worst country for living in South America losing only for Venezuela. I'm Brazilian and I live close to the border, trust me, it's a caos there.
