I wish my father could of seen this, alcohol killed him six years ago and even while his skin was yellow due to kidney failure and he sat in a wheelchair due to begin unable to walk he still told us all that he didn't have a "drinking problem" it takes guts to beat any addiction so well done to Ivan x
@donna3465
@donna3465 2 года назад
His skin was yellow probably because his liver was shutting down due to the alcohol abuse. Alcoholism/drug addiction is a crazy disease. The disease is cunning, baffling and powerful. It’s a disease that will convince you that you’re totally okay, even as you lay dying. I talked to an alcoholic, who was in ICU and literally laying on his deathbed. As he lay dying, he begged me to go get him a bottle of booze. Until addition is truly treated as a disease and the stigma is removed, it will continue to kill. I’m so sorry about your father. If there’s one thing good that comes from his death, let it be that you stay far away from drugs and alcohol. You have the gene needed to become an addict. Please don’t let drugs and/or alcohol ruin your life too.

I've met Ivan at a bar in Colorado about ten years ago. My friend said he knew him when they were starting to get pretty famous and I didn't believe him. But sure enough he showed up with a group of people and his lady. Bought my friend and I a drink and we returned the favor. It was cool to meet him. Very down to earth person. I usually tell this story to my rocker friends when I get the chance.

Congratulations to Ivan of FFDP, on his sobriety, and I found out I am an alcoholic since 2018, and it took me till 2019, to actually realize, Yes I am an alcoholic, and I had been to AA meetings, for ages, but then sometime near the end of 2020, I decided to stay sober by myself, and I have had a few relapses, and I got to 265 Days sober, and then broke it 58 Days ago, (because 58 Days on Saturday, NZ time), but I keep at it, and fight the good fight. Also, I hope and pray everyone, and Ivan and the rest of Five Finger Death Punch has a great day/night, great weekend, and stay safe. Five Finger Death Punch are awesome.

I’m so proud of Ivan and I know exactly what he went through. Luckily I was able to quit cold turkey but now I suffer from seizures and panic attacks. I was raised up in a Christian family and dabbled in Wicca also. Even though I’m an only child, I was the black sheep of my family. I ended up in a coma in March of 2018 with brain swelling and it was the strangest experience I’ve ever been through. I wasn’t expected to survive yet here I am today. FFDP has written so many songs that have applied to what I was going through at certain times, and I felt every emotion that Ivan was going through. Keep up the good fight Ivan and God bless you and your family. 🙏

This is absolutely the truest description of death I've heard! Thanks for sharing this , fun fact : our brains survive for 8 mins after death, but since time doesn't exist once we pass, that 8 mins seems like an eternity and I believe that is "life flashing before our eyes" but the overwhelming peace and LIGHT is what our true beings are, and that's how we have eternal life, because we never die, we simply "pass on" to the next plain, dimension, what have you , but we are all part of this universe (the hum) and we are eternal , in my opinion anyways , and I am Wiccan since early childhood but I do Believe in The Most high, which I think is the Universe we come to and from.....I'm glad you're still here ! Blessed Be my Awesome SOBER friend :)

About 7 yrs ago now, my bf was drinking a 30pk/day of beer. Life long alcoholic, starting before birth. I called 911 and ambulance came & took him away. He was drunk as a skunk, passing out, falling. 90 min after they left with him, I got a call from the hospital. They were transporting him to a hospital in the city. When me & my sis got there, the paramedics were still there & talked to us. They asked if he has ever had seizures. I said no & they said "well he does now & died when we left the other hospital with him and again right before we arived here". That killed me! He got out of there a wk later but spent the next wk in the county jail for kicking a nurse in the head, following another seizure and scared, not knowing where he was or what these ppl were doing with him (he was in fight or flight mode). He got set up with a new primary dr who worked with him closely to stop drinking. He was told to NEVER quit cold turkey, alcoholics can easily die going that route. He had my bf drink his normal amount & then take 1 beer away every wk. If he has a bad day, then start at that point and rework his way down, 1 less beer a wk. I became a BIOTCH!! After 2 yrs of fighting with him and his alcoholic buddies, I got him to be serious about what was actually going on. I made his closest drinking buddy go from adoring me to loathing me! I got involved in his relationship with his gf & told her all his dirty little secrets! All his lies to her and how he trashed her (all truth coming outta my mouth). The next day, they were done & a month later, he moved an hr away. THANK GOD!! Fast forward to Nov 14, '19. He is down to 3 beers a day. Has been hanging on between 3-5 for the last cpl months before hand. No seizures (I am anal on him taking his anti-seizure meds on point every 12 hrs) but keeps passing out. But this day, he only had 1 beer. I got home & see the other 2 still in fridge. I forced him to have the 2nd around 9pm. At 11:30pm, I am on the phone with 911. He was passing out & complaining he didn't feel good, all his insides hurt real bad. Ambulance leave here with him at 1am. They had a hard time waking him back up from passing out to get him downstairs & onto the gurnee. They ended up putting him in a wheelchair to get him down there. I get a call from hospital at about 5:30am. Told if I did NOT call when I did, he would have been dead by morning. His bp was so low & he had a million other things wrong with him. Pancreatitis was the cause of it all, which ya get from drinking. Every internal organ was trying to compensate for the next. Enzymes were all through the roof. In and out of ICU. 4 days on ventilator & borderline comatose. Developed pneumonia & couldn't get rid of it, leading to lumbar procedure. Feeding tube for over a month. Sedated over a month. Christmas Eve, I got a call saying I needed to be in there by that Friday to fill out financial papers for long term care (rest of his life in a home because his brain function was stuck at that of a 7 yr old). But he has nothing. No home, property, job, nothing that would be able to pay for a nursing home. Plus he has a record. No home would take him and I was not told why, they don't have to give a reason. The very end of January, his brain function started to return. Feb 4th, they told me to come pick him up, his daughter picked him up on the 5th because I had to get things ready for him here 1st. He had to now also see a cardiologist. Today, because of his alcoholism, he is on 6 meds because of his drinking damage. He takes them 4 times throughout the day, for the rest of his life. His last drink was Nov 14, 2019 & that last drink was forced onto him because I got scared. Today, he annoys me just as much as ever but he does it 110% sober! His 3 months in the hospital was his final wakeup call. Even our landlord quit drinking to be able to be a safe place for him to go to and hang with. My bf is doing pretty well considering. But me?? I am not ok. Alcoholism has taken its toll on me & I am not an alcoholic. But I love one. Alcoholism destroys the people who love the ones with the disease. If you are an alcoholic, seek professional help ASAP! DON'T put yourself in the same position! It is the 1 drug that can & will kill you trying cold turkey on your own. You CAN quit. Asking for help does NOT make you weak. My bf was told by his primary that, because of what his... (mother🤢🤢🤢🤮) has done to him before birth and his childhood, it is such a huge part of his genetic makeup that he may be one of them people who actually medically need 2 or 3 drinks every day the rest of his life. But he made it. His tremors are so small now, you only see it when he has to sign his name. He did it. He made it. So can you!🙏🙏🙏

Did you see the tree? I died when I was 16 while I was dead I saw a tree in the middle of a river but the tree didn't have leaves and branches it looked more like a Galaxy or maybe a nebula cluster glowing brilliantly and the river that came flowing from the tree was knowledge. Something told me I could stay in the river as long as I wanted and learn whatever I wanted to know but as soon as I crossed to the other side of that River there would not be any coming back so I played in the water like a child on the beach and as I went to cross I saw behind was my family. They were waving at me telling me it was time to get out of the water and I ignored them and began to cross and as I approached the River Bank on the opposite side there was something that would not let me cross all the way they told me to turn around and go home but I was not ready and when I returned to the other River Bank I woke up I died twice the first time for 4 minutes and a second time for two and a half minutes and then I was in a coma for 32 days I remember seeing every bit of this I even saw me being loaded into an ambulance and driven to the hospital. I saw my sister she found me dead on the floor in my room. I believe in death time does not move like we think it does all time happens at the exact same time and you can see all of them at once it's like having multiple eyes focused on a billion things and there is no fear no hurt there's nothing but peace it's almost like this unifying force consciousness.

Thanks for such a powerful Human message. Truly eye opening and inspiring. Best of luck to you and anyone going through it. Life’s pressures make it almost impossible to not take in destructive habits. The ones that went through it and can shine a new light for how we should be, those are the true role models. Love and light

I’ve died 3 times. And one experience was when I first found out I had cancer I been home for about a day I pass out in the bathroom and hit my head on the tub. My dad grabbed me and put my head in his lap and what brought me back was hearing my dad screaming. That’s a sound I’ll never forget. He passed not long ago I miss him.

After 17 Years Of Drinkin, (Over Half My Life). I Lost So Many Good Loves, And I Caused So Much Emotional And Psychological Damage. My Daughter’s Custody Was Ripped From Me While I Was Doing Great Progress On Sobriety And Self Healing. But Because It Wasn’t Believed To Be True, I’m Now Facing Legal Help. So Much Stress And Fear I’ve Ever Felt. But Ive Never Been More Sure That My Baby Girl Will Be Happy And Love Me In Return.

Ivan, you had a deep experience, much respect. As above, so below. Take from this as you will like a grain of salt. I have the deep scar tissues from almost, literally, 100% dying. If it's not your time, it's not your time. Doesn't matter what you do. Heaven, Hell, you know what's up.

I couldn't take it anymore and overdosed on pills. I thought I'd just go to sleep but I was conscience the whole time I was dying. Life is hard but death is worse. I spent a couple days on a ventilator but thankfully my sister had found me in time for the EMS to save my life. I woke up and it's been a struggle but day by day I get better. It's not easy but we can do it!

I watched my boyfriend pass at home from Liver Failure from alcoholism. He passed February 9th, 2021 with Hospice at home he was 45. Many nights rushing him to ER for the pain. Addiction is around all of us. Just never give up on anyone. I miss him tons. Liver Failure is a horrible painful disease. He looked like Moody a beautiful man ❤️💗

Being an alcoholic for over 38 years myself, this was so INSPIRATIONAL. Music has a way of saving you; you just have to listen. Not everyone believes in a God but believe in the POWER OF MUSIC. It's real! Thank you IVAN for believing in music and in your fans. We love you. You're worth it! Looking forward to new music. To everyone: BE WELL. ( Hey IVAN, just a suggestion but how about TRAGIC TRUTH for an album title?) FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH KICKS ASS!!!
