Lyrics:
I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm 22 for a moment
And she feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live
I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way, babe.
A family on my mind

I was 45 when this came out. Little did I know the chilling accuracy of these words, "I'm 45 for a moment, the sea is high and I'm heading into a crisis." My crisis was breast cancer. I'm 63 for a moment and looking back with gratitude on these last 17 breast-cancer-free years. Each day, each breath is a gift.

God has plans for everyone. My mom was cancer free around the same age as yours but had a cancer recurrence around May last year. The doctor said that she had at least six months left. She was a woman of faith and wanted to see he grandchildren grow up, which she eventually experienced. Sadly, she left us behind last year. Please have your annual medical check-ups done, as she has failed to do so during the Pandemic.

I heard this song tonight played for a friend who was celebrating her 90th birthday. Just wanted to say that my wife and I were married at 18 and 17, and we're now 71 and 70, and still married to each other. We lost a daughter six years ago to breast cancer at age 41. Never take time for granted; it passes too quickly. Love the people in your life while you can. I would also add that our faith in Jesus has carried us through many storms of life. Blessings to you all.

God bless your marriage and my condolences to your family on the loss of your daughter. My daughter carried your first child for a full nine months, only to have my sweet granddaughter's heart stop just before she could be delivered. Now 25 months later, the pain remains, but we ask each day for our Heavenly Father to keep us strong as we honor our granddaughter's memory each day. My daughter has since had a son, God bless him, and she is pregnant again, but memories are hard to erase. Each day of the pregnancy we put our hope and faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Your foundation is solid with your faith in Jesus and I wish God's blessings to you both.

Even the thought of losing a child is utterly tragic. Strangely, I am hearing that diagnosis more & more the last few yrs. Has the loss gotten somewhat more bearable, Jane? It's been a while, but it's a grief, I think, in it's own category. At least you've got these magical, loving memories. How many other children do u have? Im sorry if that's rude. If you can somehow make it through the song without crying, reading the comments will start the tears flowing. With every passing year, this song becomes richer, and deeper in meaning. I can't believe I'll be 60 next year. I lost my father last year, man that was hard. So many good people gone over the past twenty years. But at the same time, I'm blessed with two beautiful boys and maybe I'll have grandchildren in a few years...still so much to look forward to. Not really sure how many more 'moments' I'll get. I'll be happy with 40 more healthy ones. Time to meet my grandkids, time to deepen my friendships, time to accomplish a few more of my writing goals. And maybe time for Paris...somehow never found the time to go there.

Heard it in a store two days, and listened to it about 50 times since then. Lots of crying and thoughts of being 15, when my mom, dad, and grandma were still alive. I heard it On April 27th, which happened to be the day Mom went to Heaven 34 years ago, Now at 71, I still miss her like crazy. She only got to be a grandma for one year, but knew we were expecting our second child when the Lord called her. And we named our third child, our daughter after my Grandma and Mom, the two kindest, sweetest, and strongest ladies God ever made. I will continue playing this and cry each time. Young people, don't waste a minute, as this old timer wasted more than I care to remember. Enjoy each day the Good Lord gives you.

I agree. This song changes with age. The older I get, the better I can look back in clarity. I feel like the hand of God showing our life in slow motion. Looking back through a rear-view mirror has been a whirlwind of emotions. This song is truly healing. It's an age-less song.

This makes me reflect in so many ways. You’re never going to stop aging and death is inevitable. But did you do right, make the best life and love decisions? There’s always going to be regrets. I tear up at this song because there’s no going back. You have to try to be happy with the life and years you’ve been given.

The first time I heard this song, my 8th grade teacher showed the class this song. She encouraged us to work hard, live our lives, and love the people there for us because life passes by quick. That felt like yesterday. I can’t believe I’m 24 years old now! I can’t even remember her name. But I thank her for showing this song and all of her beautiful words of advice. This song makes you realize if you follow a life of comfortable routine, years will fly by and you will question what have you done with your time? Live your life to the fullest! I am learning at 25 (almost 26) how fast time flew by when I didn’t pay attention and got comfortable doing the same thing over and over. But we were, both each others first kiss. Boy was that awkward. I reach 67 next month, but my mind seems stuck in 1973 or so. Teen at heart, but my body says. Back then when I heard this song (I was around the age of 18) I thought that, wow, this is so deep. I enjoy singing this and whatnot. Now, 12 years later, I stumbled again upon this song. I marvel at how life is but a fleeting moment. A failed suicidal act because of getting bullied at college (body shaming and physical abuse) resulting on a damaged liver and kidneys and, maybe, can only go for just another 15 years from now. I sing along with this song and every time I sing the chorus "15 there's still time for you" I cry like a waterfall. I still got time. 15 years. Never a wish better than this indeed. Cherish your life people. It's a precious beautiful life we get to live.

I am 46 years old, I feel/act much younger than my age and I don't plan on growing up anytime soon! What I've learned in my 46 years is that life is what you make it, it sucks for everyone at one time or another but you are in control of your own life. Don't count on anyone else to make you happy do it yourself......live the life you want not the one you think other people want you to live. If you fail at something, try it again....we all look back and say I should have done it different, that's part of life. I realized about 5 years ago that I don't get a "do over" or a "next time" it's just this time and even with the things I failed at accomplishing I will never regret any part of my life enough to wish it never happened! My greatest accomplishments are my 2 kids, no matter what I did or didn't do right in life they are what matters most!! So smile, tomorrow is a new day!

The living world is NEVER too late. Whether you have 15 or 100 years to live, you can do it. You can turn it all around. You can have everything you want, everything you need.
