Enid Blyton's Five go to Mystery Moor - as a multi-actor audiobook play. Book 13 of the Famous Five series; book originally published in 1954.
What is so mysterious about the moor? Do the traveller know? The Famous Five risk treacherous mists to follow them across Mystery Moor - but will the trail lead to into danger?
It is abridged by Phil Evans with a 65 minute running time, the story still works well with enough tension and drama. These shorter dramatizations are ideal for 'reading' in a single sitting and are great for relaxing bedtime or car journeys with kids. Recorded/released by Hodder Children's Audiobooks, performed by Nick McArdle, Nigel Pegram, Jonathan Keble and Jan Francis with Julian played by Rowan D'Albert; Dick, Simon Brown; George, Jo Thurley; and Anne, Scarlett Strallen.
First recorded in 1997 to tie in with its TV adaption in the HTV/CITV TV series, but this copy was a 1998 re-relase and it has a cracking typo on the cassette body.
This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so lots of old-fashioned tape noises and hiss, but still very listenable and an enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia and relaxation or for excitement in new generation of imaginative listeners.
