I’d like a magic tarp, that could float down the trail next to me, with my pack on it. It could also float above me, to keep me shaded and dry. Strangely enough, I wouldn’t want to float down the trail myself - I enjoy the walking part. Maybe I would use it to cheat up a particularly nasty climb, though.

Nice ideas but not yet realistic with today's technology. I think the FAA is very close to approving drone deliveries for consumer purposes. One approved, it would be nice to get resupply delivery on demand at any clearing. That would be a game changer for sure.

I recommend a safety course and a first aid course as well before using one of these.

In places where I’ve camped within 1/2 mile of a road, I have called in a pizza delivery. When the pizza place agrees on the delivery, it makes me feel like the Portable Starbucks scenario. It doesn’t always work, though. Some places just won’t do it, even if the pizza and tip are paid for in advance.
