Timbers defensive numbers almost irrelevant at this point. They're completely different than the team that was leaky af during their 9 match winless streak. Now they've become very solid defending as a group. Their attackers are all willing defenders which makes a huge difference. PTFC are a wagon right now and will be a handful in LC and MLS stretch run.
I think Timbers defense improving (and thus the record) has to do with Mosquera being much better defensively and also bringing back in Zuparic who has steadied the line.
Malanda and Kahlina both getting passed over when Charlotte has the most clean sheets in the league is really something but yeah past years and this year has been night and day for the team, a full time coach and actual structure to their playstyle has made CLT a house. if they go get a DP with great finishing they're gonna be a problem
Wish he went in on how the club should feel something about the game t no one gets a commissioner pick or coach pick when you can easily make an arguement each year on stats but hands down the best supported club without representation each year (2nd best in league at home attendance, best away section too)
Too bad some of the potentially more ambitious and larger clubs still have turf, like Atlanta, Seattle, Charlotte, NE and Portland. I guess that only leaves Vancouver left, but I feel that factor doesn't help with their potential signings of the really big name players. Too bad, becasue, besides Portland, all these teams have more capacity for even more fans.
I appreciate the optimism on Atlanta but I wished I shared your outlook. I know MLS loves Garth but the club has continued to be a sinking ship with him at the helm. As long as Boca has a job here I just don’t see an end to the mediocrity.
Tom this is something a super weird question, but how did you hang your scarfs? I just bought a home and need to decorate my office with a bunch of old soccer scarfs! Would love the advice
