Five More Book + Art Combos I Recommend 

Jorge Luis Borges and M. C. Escher's art. These, perhaps alongside the visuals of the film 'The Triplets of Belleville' by Sylvain Chomet and much of the oeuvre of director Peter Greenaway. Also, Alain Resnais with 'Last Year at Marienbad'. Raúl Ruiz too, most notably in 'The Hypothesis of the Stolen Painting,' 'Three Crows of the Sailor', and 'City of Pirates'. Borges's fictions, Escher's artwork, and these directors' films are all works of a surrealistic and fabulist/magical realist persuasion. Interestingly, maybe even unsurprisingly, all three of the aforementioned directors worked with the same wonderful cinematographer at some point or another in Sacha Vierny. I would then meld all of these with the music of minimalist composer Michael Nyman, the inimitable Björk, Radiohead, a few of the albums of Cocteau Twins, Mr. Bungle, David Bowie, Gojira, Tatiana Lisovskaya, and Chet Baker (because let's face it, sometimes all of this art is a long, measured, and beautiful reflection).

So, to those who liked the film Parasite (2019) I'd recommend Edogawa Rampo's short story 'The Human Chair' Both works create the same sense of unease through the idea of people-as-parasites co-living with others, though I'd say Rampo pushes this idea even further.
