"Five Nights at Freddy's" is ironically hilarious 

I’m so sorry but welchy not knowing who matpat is is beyond amusing. Like legit hilarious-

The entire ending with Springtrap (Shaggy) and the kids dragging him back to the room to rot was just cinematic perfection as someone who grew up with the games. And Cassidy (the blonde kid that talks) watching him twitching in agony like he did in the games. William Afton is a sick bitch and I love seeing his victims get their justice in some way. And to clarify, yeah he's still alive. When he said "I always come back" he meant it, he's like fused with the suit now (the way the kids who's bodies were hidden in the animatronics are) and is in constant agony because of the springtraps that got triggered and snapped into him. In the game, the room he's in ends up boarded up and he's in there for a *long* time just stuck like that. It's satisfying karma at it's finest lol Also, I love that he didn't recognize the youtuber cameos in the movie sksks

Cassidy said "Not Freddy" when Abbie asked if he's Freddy because there are multiple iterations if the animatronics. The Freddy Abbie had been hanging out is the brown Freddy , Cassidy is possessing the Golden Freddy whom Abby has supposedly not met before.

I’m a fnaf lore fiend. I know literally way too much about this series. And I honestly think they did great with the movie! It’s a lot to condense and explain. But they worked with the source material well and you can tell when the people who work on a project genuinely appreciate and love the source and I feel that this team clearly cared a lot!! Even if it wasn’t one to one and was seriously funny rather then scary still over it 8/10 for me!

The first night in the game is always the easiest. Mike sleeping through it is literally the movie saying, "You could beat the first night in your sleep."

Everyone knows Matthew Lillard as the lovable Shaggy, but it's worth mentioning that he appeared in the Scream movies long before that. He was the original Ghostface killer and reappeared as "guy at party" in Scream 2 a year later.

I want to explain about how the kids exactly died and how them getting justice was the biggest satisfaction. The kid who possesses Freddy died hiding, he hid from William Afton. Hence why the Freddy animatronic is always seen hiding, even in the games, Freddy always hides. Chica and the cupcake. The little girl had a dog and William lured her by saying he has her dog, and killing the dog along with her. It's not confirmed but this Theory 100% makes sense that the dog is the cupcake, explains why it's bite-y and growls and is very viscous. I think Chica died screaming and she was the first victim. Foxy died running. Explains why whenever the victims (First security dude, the guy that broke into the pizzeria and Mike) are running at the hall, Foxy is always there humming the du-du-dum song and kills them. I've heard that William hummed that song before he kills the kid that possesses Foxy. He's always chasing the victims. Bonnie. Bonnie has always been known as the most aggressive one (according to the creator of the games), he's aggressive because he died fighting back. I heard in the FNAF books, he actually gave William Afton a sore jaw for weeks. He died fighting, hence why he's always been the aggressive one. (One thing though, i really love that Abby gave the heart drawing to Bonnie instead. He's aggressive and for the first time he is being seen as soft hearted). Golden Freddy (the kid that said "Not Freddy"). I don't know much as i am new to the lore but i heard the Golden Freddy actually does not have his body remains in the animatronic he represents. Explains why he is MOSTLY ALWAYS seen as this ghost kid, he's more seen as spiritual rather than possessing an Animatronic (also why when Abby turned to see the Golden Freddy animatronic, he was gone, he was still seen as more of a spirit). I have no idea why it's like that, I'm assuming because he's the most vengeful out of the others. He died getting beheaded (in the games i think, you're always seeing his head). I did also heard this theory that the Golden Freddy is possessed by two spirits, one is name Cassidy and one is name Evan. We don't really know if they're going by that theory or not. I really like the fact the drawings helped them, Abby already said they LOVE pictures, Abby's teacher at the beginning has also stated that pictures are very important to kids and its a way for them to communicate. I like to think after getting brutally murdered by a bat shit crazy old guy, the last thing they felt was fear or even most likely anger. Their death was so traumatizing that the human brain often blocks it as it can't comprehend it properly, so the only thing they remember is that they died. Drawings helps them, seeing happy drawings with William Afton did not help them in a way to remember, making it so much easier to brain wash little kids as they're easily influence and easily to earn their trust. One thing about William in their memory that DID in fact stayed is that the kids hate adults because of him. You'll notice that they only treated Abby nicely, the animatronic kids never hates kids but only adults. Explains why they hate Mike, hate the adults that broke in and the first security guard.

So, the actor who plays the guy who works at Sparky's is MatPat from the Channel The Game Theorist who had many so many videos on FNAf alone. Plus, the series creator had decided that Mat's Character in the movie should be named Ness to reference the old insane theory of Sans is Ness.

This movie was so much fun, and it was worth the 8 year wait for me haha, Mathew Lillard’s performance was really really good! I just wish he had more screen time, I’m excited to see him in the sequels

I can't handle horror movies at all. My nerves are made of cooked noodles. FNaF was always the exception to that (i just grew less scared of it over time). And I'm so glad they went this direction with the movie. Really let me focus on the story it was trying to tell and seeing the characters on the big screen.

This movie was incredible with its referrences. Not only to the games (The pixel intro like the FNaF atari styled minigame, depicting William killing the children. The animatronic they wanted to stick Abby into being Ella from the books. The Rainbow on the employees uniform in the beginning being Chicas Magic Rainbow from FNaF World. The code after the end credits mimicking the Save Them minigame. The line 'I'll always come back' and so much more), but also to the fan community. People already mentioned Matpat (and his line, It's just a theory), but the dog robot and the name of the restaurant (Sparky's) is a referrence to the most popular hoax/fan character Sparky the Dog. Or the fact that the End credits is the most popular (and first) fan song for fnaf, made by the living tombstone. Or that Matpats nametag says Ness, which is a referrence to his theory 'sans is ness', which Scott Cawthon picked deliberately. Cory being the taxi driver. Other FNaF RU-vidrs being on the Employee of the month board. And also so much more. This movie is a treasure hunt for fans and I love it, because none of those details are necessarry for the story or anything, just cool background things to point out.

Haven’t seen someone say this yet, but the song that played during the credits was actually written by a guy called the Living Tombstone. It’s a fan made song that came out around the first game, and it’s so cool that a fan song is in official FNaF media

Fun Fact: In The Games, Mike and the Game version of Abby and Vanessa, Elizabeth were Afton`s children who initially went along with their parents` cruel games but later rebelled.Also, Mike ended up stuffed into a Freddy suit at the end and the transformation of Afton into Springtrap/The Yellow Rabbit was far more painful in The Game.

I've loved FNAF ever since it came out, and every FNAF fan has been waiting for this movie for 8 years. I watched this in theaters on opening night and I LOVED IT!!! And yes, you do have to understand the lore to understand the movie (kind of, they switched it up a little bit).

It's so funny because you don't know the lore😭 But to explain a little bit- The animatronics(the animals) are kids under the age of 9, that were killed by that yellow bunny(william afton) and when mike(josh) was talking with the therapist she said that kids mostly draw their memories and some even unlock the memories so when abby drew the bunny killing them it unlocked the kid's memory... Hope you at least understand a little bit more now.😭

Honestly knowing the lore isn't required for this movie since they very much spit the lore into your face which you pretty much got the basics of so good job! The movie peaked at beginning and the brutality of the break in..the rest as you said was ironically hilarious and I agree. The second movie needs more horror, that's the major complaint.

I think it is because there is so much lore that they really want to make a second film, so maybe the kid dies in the second film maybe not.

you do not really need to know the lore to understand the movie but it made the experience for me beautiful because I could see the easter eggs.

Eventually the corporation takes over and just keeps letting them die on the night shift until the location has to close, and they just rely on their other locations and open new ones. But yeah. That's it. That's basically the lore. Lol

I was dragged to go see this in the movies and I'm someone who doesn't really enjoy horror. However this was pretty enjoyable! Lots of comedy, and only really got big jumpscares from the clown!

This movie is actually a pretty good representation of the games, comedy us something used quite a bit within the games, obviously when shit gets real itll have a serious tone but whenever theres downtime where you aren't getting murdered scott cawthon the creator of these games loves to throw in some comedy here and there, hes a funny guy who's made countless troll games that soley exist to make fun of himself and the FNAF community

The Pizzeria had not been shut down for 30 years as the film is set in 2000 so between 10 and 15 years I would say as you can see that year in the timecode when he is at the career counsellor's waiting room and the TV in his home is a small fat one with a DVD and VCR built into it and video tapes beside it.

I love watching people who know nothing about the games or surrounding fandom watch this. It’s easy to know what the fans’ reactions to this is. I’m one of them. I was having heart palpitations at all the references proving that everyone working on this film actually got it. But people from the outside just looking in like “the fuck is this?” Is so funny to me.

As a FNAF fan, I found this movie quite enjoyable. In terms of writing, it was awful because the creator of the original series honestly sucks at writing, but in terms of being a weirdly charming, silly movie, it was really good. I loved seeing the animatronics on the big screen, and the soundtrack was perfect. I especially love the fact that they used The Living Tombstone's FNAF song for the credits. Such a nice callback.

ever since i was a little kid, bonnie and springtrap have always been my favourite (exclusively springtrap, not afton, please for the love of god im not one of those fans). getting to see them on screen along with cory (taxi-driver) and matpat (waiter in the restaurant) is... amazing. it was surreal. these guys MADE my childhood. its like watching my childhood walk around. i even went to the cinemas in a white dress-shirt, red bowtie and purple hair to honour my buddy bonnie! i was eleven years old when the first game came out and now im in college. i feel like this movie is one of those movies where... you can like it but you can only really love for all its weird quirks and cringey-ness, look past the absurdity of it, and be so emotionally and deeply connected to it if you've been stuck with fnaf since childhood like so many people have. its cringey and according to the reviews it sucks but i promise you this is, in my opinion as a fan since childhood, the best movie to have ever come to cinemas, PERIOD. the way my best friends and i screamed the whole movie, making theories about it, having a heart attack when we met vanessa and learned she was afton's daughter in this universe. when i tell you the whole cinemas shat their pants with the screaming and cheering they did when we saw springtrap-... i dont think ive ever been in a cinema that loud. THEN with the end credits song (one of the first fnaf songs that were released and became the unofficial theme of the whole franchise)? pretty much the whole cinema sang their hearts out like it was an anthem. it was genuinely a spiritual experience for my group of friends xD there were so many references to the games, the books, the people involved in the games since the beginning, the theories, the inside jokes... genuinely i cried when we got an on-screen springlock incident JUST because we got one. also can i just say the boy with blond hair playing golden freddy was even more menacing and scary that william afton himself? like the kid was twelve or eleven when they filmed his scenes i believe and he somehow managed to be the scariest character in the whole movie. captured cassidy's craving for revenge and her permanent rage as a spirit perfectly. he creeped me tf out in cinemas. i do agree that there should have been more gore and death. i was very disappointed with the springlock incident with afton. in the games, its depicted in pixels but it is so much more vile and sickening (literally bloody everywhere) and i always imagined the incident to be way more dark with a hell of a lot more screaming 🤷‍♀

my man is a underrated actor. and i hope to see more of him soon
