The Inspiration behind this video:
The latest Five Nights At Freddy's news teases the amazing animatronics at work in bringing the terrifying creatures of the movie to life. The Five Nights of Freddy's practical effects were shared in some behind the scenes images that show the impressive work going into creating these memorable and unsettling characters, including Freddy himself. It has already been confirmed that the legendary effects studio Jim Henson's Creature Shop has worked on the project, so it isn't so much of a surprise at how good they look.
Practical effects have become less and less common in Hollywood over the years and even horror movies that veered into CGI in a lot of cases. While there are certainly some terrific things that can be done with CGI, some of which could never be accomplished with practical effects, there is no denying that it is more effective, especially in the horror genre, when it feels like these creations are really there. The animatronics will be a big focus of Five Nights At Freddy's with high expectations in recreating the characters, but these images bode well for the final results.
