The voiceover didn't utilize the emphasis of the text. It said "collect the bright *remnant*" and "avoid the shadowy *remnant*" which sound like two ways of describing the same thing, to me, but the use of bold text in the description made it more apparent that there are two, different kinds. These games seem to thrive on not telling the player any of the mechanics beyond basic controls, so if anything, it's surprising this one tells you what to do at all.

I think everyone who’s played the game also did just that. The remnant is very confusing, it’s easier to just flash the shadow remnant to freeze them in place so you can move in real life and go and get the light remnant.
