John Mayer's is awesome, definitely my choice. I love your style of playing and seeing how you use your guitar it makes total sense that you'd be into the less traditional guitars. I'm so jealous of how well you can play. Keep up the awesome work!
If I had to choose it would go: 1. Billy Corgan signature Strat 2. John Mayer's The Black One 3. Billy Corgan's signature Reverend. Not a fan of humbuckers but Reverends sound and play surprisingly well!
That Vigier Bumblefoot guitar is nuts! For me (in no particular order): * Gibson Michael Bloomfield 1959 Les Paul Standard * Nuno Washburn N4 * John Mayer black relic Strat * SRV '#1' as a relic'd custom build (rather than the rather sterile looking non-relic Custom shop model) * PRS McCarty 594 Private Stock (yup, John Mayer again)
The St. Vincent sig looks rad! my "to buy" list: -Epiphone Tony Iommi SG -Reverend Billy Corgan signiature -Rabea Massaad Chapman ML 3 Baritone -Fender/Squier Tom Delonge strat -Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior.
1. George Lynch Kamikaze 2. Rebea's signature Chapman 3. Rob's Ghost Fret 4. Prince's symbol guitar 5. Warren DeMartini's Crossed Swords Charvel Loved seeing you on Anderton's TV. Excited to learn more about you and your music!
Cool video! I have only three sigs I'd want. John Mayer Strat - Ritchie Kotzen Tele - And the Eric Johnson sig Strat. I'm a Fender guy as you can tell lol.
Signature Guitars... 1. Gibson Lzzy Hale Explorer (already own) 2. Gibson Jason Hook Explorer (already own) 3. Dimebag Dean From Hell ML 4. Framus Devin Townsend signature 5. Fender David Gilmour signature. Some very different guitars but all ones that speak to me.
Loving the new MM Valentine. The next question is amps! EBMM -James Valentine PRS - Mark Holcomb (Core) Fender - Yngwie Malmsteen Strat Framus - Phil X Fender - John Mayer (African Rosewood FB/3-Color sunburst)
My top five plus five signature guitars I'd love to own in no particular order; 10 - Ibanez's Paul Gilbert FRM250MF 9 - PRS SANTANA Signature 8 - Warren Haynes Signature ES335 7 - Joe Bonamassa Signature Les Paul 6 - Ernie Ball Music Man JP16 John Petrucci Signature 5 - Joe Bonamassa LP 4 - Robert Cray Signature Strat 3 - Mike Stern Yamaha Pac1611 Signature 2 - Joe Satriani JS2400 1) Weta Custom Made 50,000 year old swamp Kauri Wetatone Stratocaster built by Graham and Steve from Weta Guitars Wellington New Zealand.
1)Pete Thorn- Suhr Signature Black with Red back 2)Gibson-BB King Lucille-veritone circuit 3)John Petrucci-Majesty 6-the most versatile guitar made 4) Alex Lifeson-Gibson Axcess- Rush Signature- beautiful guitar 5)Peter Frampton-Signature Les Paul Black- 3 Humbuckers !!!! By the way, Mary, you are a trendsetter also. I never heard of Vigier until I saw your interview with Andertons. Thank you!
1. Cliff Gallup Gretsch Duo Jet 2. Eddie Cochran Gretsch 6120 3. Brian Setzer Gretsch 6120 4. George Harrison Gretsch Duo Jet 5. George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster. Buddy guy and Rory Gallagher strats are both cool too, and I actually own a j mascis signature jazzmaster, which is AWESOME
Love you Mary! 1. John Mayer Silver Sky (got it a couple weeks ago. 2. The Edges black strat 3. David Gilmours black strat 4. John Mayer’s PRS Super Eagle 2 (how did it play?) 5. Gary Clark’s Gibson SG (but only in yellow)
The vintage trini Lopez 335 is my favorite. Pelham blue. Just gorgeous when the light hits it. Also, the tele Waylon Jennings plays. It's all covered in leather. it looks so outlaw. Perhaps one day!
We all have our top 5! 1) Of course the Les Paul. The one true guitar! I have a burgundy 1977 but I want one of those crazy custom 1959 re-issues from the custom shop, that are as close to the originals as possible (extra points for a signature model that is also custom?) 2) Music Man Steve Morse model in blue. The original they started making for him 25 years ago, not the new one. 3) The Fender Andy Summers Telecaster, which I dont think they make anymore. 4) The Ricky Nielson black and white checked explorer style Hamer from the Dream Police album. 5) The Chapman Rob Chapman signature model.
Love your choices a bit of everyhting. Here are 5 of my favourites: 1. Billy Gibbons Custon Shop Goldtop Les Paul, the one with the pinstriping and no pickup selector, you have to blend the sound of the two pickupswith the two volumes. 2. Gretsch G6120SSU-OFLM BRIAN SETZER NASHVILLE. 3. ESP George GLynch Skulls and Snakes (totally Metal). 4. Scott Holiday's “Tin Tin” guitar which is a French-built B-Bones model from Meloduende Guitars (not a signature but custom). 5. Phil X Framus XG #14-2737
Wow, what a great topic! Loved hearing your picks. Loved reading everyone else’s. I think I have at least one unique pick I did not see: 1. Herman Li’s Ibanez EGEN18 in Transparent Violet 2. John Petrucci’s Music Man Majesty 6-String in Siberian Sapphire 3. Dustie Waring’s Paul Reed Smith Limited Edition in Waring Burst 4. Jeff Loomis’ Schecter FR-7 7-string in Vampire Red 5. EVH Wolfgang USA Edward Van Halen Signature in Black Love the channel.
#1 David Gilmour's Fender Esquire (used on Run Like Hell and on the album cover About Face) saw it at the Pink Floyd exhibition with only a pane of reinforced glass separating us! #2 James Trussart steel caster (cream on roses), I really love the one that Jolyon Dixon played when he was touring with Amy MacDonald. #3 Stefan Cush's 72 Thinline Telecaster. I actually got the chance to play it a couple of years ago at the Shepherds Bush empire during the sound check but he wouldn't sell it to me! #4 John Palir candy Apple telecaster. I really love his guitars. #5 the first guitar I ever bought. An old black Les Paul copy from a shop in Chadwell Heath. I sold it a few years later to a guy who then proceeded to spray it purple. Lost contact with him. It had lovely binding on it and the humbuckers sounded amazing. Why oh why did it sell it? Big mistake!
1 - Paul Gilbert Signature Ibanez - I'm a huge fan of original, unused shapes, they jump to your eyes and denote even more some personality behind the guitar. And Paul Gilbert's Ibanez is definetely one of these guitars. :3 2 - David Gilmour's Black Strat - Probably the only strat i would ever buy. I already have my own "signature" strat (built by myself a few years ago when studying luthiery), but i would open this exception since PF is y favourite band ever :3 3 - John Mayer's signature PRS - I always had a weakness for PRSs, and this one really caught me, for the amount of tonal options it's got and for the natural beauty and quality a PRS naturally owns. :3 Last but not least, keeping in the subject of original shapes, i would like to "dodge" a bit from the original purpose, which was "5 signature models" to talk about two models that compete harshly in my heart for the position of "My signature guitar in the upcoming future": 4 - Ernie Ball' Music Man Armada - Probably the most beautiful "Les Paul rendition" i've ever seen in my life. What they've done with the top is amazing, mixing the burst with the full-color painting on the guitar top. Which also helps to hide the neck-thru body, that makes it a lot more stable and sustainable. :3 5 - Gianinni GCRA 202 - Also known as Electric Craviola, it's a sort of brazillian rendition of a Les Paul on the body of a brazillian model of acoustic guitar called Craviola. If you never heard of it by this name, it's that oddly-shaped 12-string guitar Jimmy Page used on Tangerine. ^_^ But this is an electric version, with features similar to those of a Les Paul (but a bit better, actually - you can have many configurations within each pickup. Wanna play one soo hard :3) Well, these are my choices. Thanks for reading ^_^
Cool choices! I've found the thing with the St. Vincent is to adjust the pickup heights by ear so all three play well with each other. I have the neck pickup a little lower, relative to the other two, than if the guitar had individual volumes. This keeps the neck/bridge combo and all three together from sounding too thick. The pickups are quite warm sounding, so a mid-scoop EQ-wise is good for cleaner sounds. For dirtier stuff, though, that warm sound is just the thing.
First, you're extremely talented! Second, you need 100,000 subs for sure!My picks1.) Fender Joe Strummer tele 2.) Guthrie Govan Charvel3.) Dave Grohl Trini Lopez Gibson4.) Fender Eric Clapton Strat5.) Ernie Ball Steve Lukather Luke Dual Humbucker version
1. Tal Farlow 2. Alex Lifeson ES-355 (owned) 3. George Harrison rosewood Tele 4. St. Vincent (I like the white or blue) 5. Eric Johnson strat in the turquoise blue
The Stvincent sort of reminds me of the Hamer Glenn Tipton model, which was designed for more function over form, There is a video of Glenn explaining its shape. But my top 5 sig models i want to own are :) -Gibson CC1 Green/Moore/ Hammett Les paul -Hamer Vector KK -Guyton Red Special -Ace Frehley "the 300" lespaul - Fender Dave Murray strat (the kossof/murray one)
the Tosin Ibanez and his new brand Tosin all use Fishman pickups. Those were a white version of his signature Fluence set. you would probably love the single coil tones from those pickups.
- Steve Vai Ibanez JEM7V WH - Andy Timmons Ibanez AT-1000 - Marty Friedman Jackson MF-1 Those 3 guys are my absolute top guitar heroes for having unique emotionally expressive styles. Those instruments are also pretty versatile and I feel encourage each player to find their own unique style. They're also more modern style instruments, which is what I like.
1. Alex Lifeson Gibson 355 2. John Petrucci Ernie Ball 6 Signature (pre-Majesty) 3. Ibanez JEM 7V 4. James Bay Epiphone Century(great unique sound) 5 Eric Johnson F-hole strat(already have the standard solid body and it's the best guitar I own. )
"Five Signature guitars I want to own"...tough question. It took me a couple of weeks, to answer this appropriately. From my point of view it is some kind of compromise to own the Signature guitar of your inspiration/hero that has a spec-concept bound to the artists preferences, a (social) medial popularity and certain kind of mojo. On the other side the guitar has to fit as the player and might be reach some limitations (size/shape of hands -> neck-shape/-profile; muscular body strengths -> guitar overall weight; hearing capabilities/musical and technical understanding and experience -> tonewood combinations/pickup configurations). I've had this kind of experience 14 years ago, when I had the chance to buy a second-hand Fender Richie Sambora Signature Mk. I Stratocaster in Cherry Sunburst. And I was very surprised that this beautiful looking guitar didn't make the sounds that I was expecting it to make (with my hands, my musical understanding and experience back then). After a lot of philosophizing (or/and a lot of bla-bla-bla), back to normal service, cutting the chase and being over this episode of my personal Signature-guitars-fail. Answering the question which five signature guitars I would like to own for the moment: 1. 2001 Fender Stratocaster "Richie Sambora" Signature Mk. II in 3-Color-Sunburst (less modern more vintage - more likely to my style of playing) 2. 1994 Fender Stratocaster "Jeff Beck" Signature in Vintage White (the one with the baseball-bat-neck and the lace-sensor-pickups) 3. 2014 Fender Stratocaster "Michael Landau" Signature 1963 in Fiesta Red over Sunburst (maybe with Kloppmann Real-65 Pickups + DummyCoil as a mod) 4. 1997 Fender Stratocaster "Stevie Ray Vaughan" Signature in 3-Color Sunburst (even though I am a bit suspicious about the left-hand-vibrato) 5. 2017 Suhr JM Classic "Ian Thornley" Signature in Surf Green (always wanted a JM-Style guitar and a modern HSH-type-guitar - this looks like both in one, but the test is still pending :) ) -> as an alternative to no. 5, I'd like to have a Fender Custom Shop George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster, but the Rosewood makes it kind of heavy, plus any kind of Rosewood is getting more and more difficult get hold of due to international trade restrictions. This makes it almost impossible to get one or paying ridiculously high prices...
Oops - just wanted to include - I noticed your playing the Elite Stratocaster with the Captain. Acquired one a month ago - autumn blaze - beautiful sparkly thing. Still getting to know it - a very fine sounding instrument ... lots of options with the S1 switch. They're works of art.
Interesting, my wish Top signature guitars: 1- Gibson Les Paul - Gary Moore 2- Fender Strat - John Mayer Black1 3- PRS Signature - Mark Holcomb 4- Lag S2000KJ - Keziah Jones Africa 5- Chapman - ML3 Pro Rabea 6- Gibson Les Paul "The Beast" - Bernie Marsden 7- Schecter Custom - Eric Johnston Traditional Atomic Green 8- Chapman - ML1 Cap10 - Lee Andertons Signature 9- PRS Signature - Waring Dust 10- Fender Strat CS Crashocaster Rainbow - Eric Clapton 11- Ibanez JEM-7V - Steve Vai White 12- Fender Strat CS - Eric Johnson 2 Tones 13- Fender Strat CS - Jeff Beck White 14- PRS Signature - Carlos Santana 2 Salmon 15- Gibson SG - Angus Young Signature 16- Gibson ES-345 - BB King "Lucile" 17- Aristide 070 - Misha's model w/ Fan Fret - Orange 18- Martin - Ed Sheeran X Signature 19- Taylor Mini - Taylor Swift Signature 20- Sire - Marcus Miller V7 And I'm not counting the PRS Signature Brent Mason because I'm lucky enough to already own it. Also, this is not always about the artist, but sometimes more about the guitar specs. Oh yeah... I couldn't fit only 5, so here's my Top 21 then :)
Thanks to you for making this video that did inspire me to think about the Top 5 Signature guitars I'd love... and the more I thought about it, the more I couldn't even fit the 5 limit. Obviously the first 5 are my top favorite, but I'd still want the 15 next ones. And yes, I'm pretty biased regarding to PRS and Fender Strats... I just love them :)
1.Lee Ranaldo Jazzmaster 2.Kurdt Cobain Jaguar 3.Joe Strummer Telecaster 4.Nate Mendel P-Bass 5.Jack Casady Epiphone bass Being a southpaw, no.2 is the only one i have a chance of owning though :)
I don't really have 5 on my list (since I already own two of them), but here it goes... in no particular order. 1) Ibanez George Benson model, cuz I love the big jazz guitars 2) PRS McCarty soapbar.. the one w/ 3 pickups 3) Fender Jazzmaster custom shop. Really like the shape but not the trem system. 4) Ibanez Joe Satriani JS700 (I own this one) and I love the P90s! 5) PRS Mira (Mahogany body w/ bird inlays) I have a red one and it's my favorite humbucker guitar.
Great list! I love the big jazz guitars too, when I was younger I had an Ibanez Artcore that I think has been discontinued. It was a beaut but did not want to stay in tune.
Being a lefty player I had to make my own signature guitar. Its a 2011 LP Standard with custom made pickups, custom nut and speed knobs. Does this count? All I have to do now is to become a world famous rock star and get Gibson to release a copy of it!
Great video Mary, and a great choice in guitars....especially St. Vincent model. Loved your comments about its originality (although for mine it also has a hint of the Gibbons/Diddley) but special all the same! Through Positive-thought-manifestation I truly hope someone out in guitar maker land offers to make a Spender Special custom mkI. Have you thought about body design...? maybe some subtly background images for future posts.... i'd sure love to help that come to fruition, although the postage from Down Under may be the killer. Dan
You're right it does have a hint of that guitar. Haha I'm happy to wait a while until I have a signature guitar - I wouldn't know where to start right now
Hmmmm five is small number youngling. 1. Latest Musicman Majesty Monarchy blue petrucci. Not a huge metal fan but the effort he has put into it and the piezos to get you almost an acoustic at a switch flick. 2. Mayer's Super Eagle PRS. Have a few strats and this thing blew my mind. Wall mounted in lounge room with spotlights 3. Lucille BB King. No explanation required 4. David Gilmour black strat relic to replace the copy I built from a Japanese fender 5. Santana PRS to sit next to my 20 year old Boogie combo
nice list ☺, here's mine: 1. fender jag-stang (Kurt cobain) 2. Ibanez ndm1 (noodles from the offspring) 3. gretsch g5191bk (Tim Armstrong) 4. Gibson Billie Joe Armstrong les Paul Jr. 5. fender John 5 signature telecaster
5: Gibson Slash Vermillion les paul 4: Gretsch G6120 Brian Setzer Hotrod 3: Musicman JP7 With Piezo 2: ESP LTD JR608 Javier Reyes signature 1: Schecter Synyster Gates Custom S
New fan here! (Came from the obvious place) Great list. Here are some of mine: - Music Man Luke 3 - Mayer Black 1 - ESP LTD Bill Kelliher Sparrowhawk - Music Man Majesty - Gibson Bonamassa Bonabyrd - Music Man St Vincent (I guess I like Music Man lol) - Ibanez Jem Better get saving...
1- AFD Gibson Les Paul 2- Paul's Guitar from PRS 3- An original Zemaitis Metal Top 4- Jason Becker Carvin JB200C 5- Keith Merrow KM6 MkII from Schecter Not a signature guitar but a Vigier Excalibur would be a massive bonus
Eric Johnson Strat - I have a very early one which I think is the best Strat available John Mayer Strat - Almost bought a white one with a mint green pick guard but it was gone when I went back to purchase it. Robert Cray Strat - This is what I bought after missing out on the JM strat. Inca silver with mint pick guard. Eric Clapton Strat - I like chunky necks and this one is the likeness of a baseball bat Guthrie Govan Charvel - played one and loved it Angus Young SG - although the one that I played had hardware problems.
Great topic. Thank you for this vid. Here are a few I like ... Cobain Mustang in light blue. Shoulda bought it. It was discontinued fairly quick. I'll never own the Gilmour Fender custom shop black Strat because it's too expensive but, I love it. A John Lennon Epi Casino would be super cool. A Guild S 100 (not a signature model but, I only like it because Kim Thayil of Soundgarden always played one... R.I.P. Chris Cornell)
Kramer Wedge already have one though as in the thumbnail, so the Kramer 350g Aluminium Neck & Forked Headstock. Noodles (The Offspring) Ibanez Duct Tape guitar. Zakk Wylde, Wylde Audio Viking V in Pelham Blue. Jeff Healey's guitar don't care which just love Jeff Healey's playing (don't think he has a signature). Ovation Breadwinner/Deacon Bonus 6th guitar Randy Rhoads White Gibson Les Paul
Electric guitars: 5: Music Man Majesty. Admittedly I'd rip out the magnetic picups and replace them with something less shrill. But I've played one and it's very comfortable. 4: Parker Vernon Reid Dragonfly. Leave it to me to want a rare guitar from a dead company, but Parkers always turned my head. I'd get two so I could replace the standard pickups with Pegasus and Sentient SD (Parker Bottfly mod.) 3: Framus Devin Townsend Stormbender. The ultimate in refined bling. Probably spend as much on the case to protect it. 2: Gibson Jimmy Page doubleneck. Rare, expensive, but still a working instrument. Probably will have to build one for myself anyway. 1: PRS Tremonti singlecut. Charcoal burst finish. Or a McCarthy triple soapbar in any color (don't care if it's in flame pink satin, these things ooze blues.) Acoustics: 5: Martin Pete Seeger 12 string baritone. Tune to A and don't look back. 4: Taylor Leo Kottke 12 string. You may see a pattern here, but it has everything I want in a 12 standard scale: jumbo, cutaway, the right scale, the right woods. 3: Alvarez Jerry Garcia. An obscure one I'll admit. Built after Garcia's death, made maybe for a year, nonetheless it was a jumbo cutaway, and I want one. 2: Scott Roeder Nile custom. Take a Guild F50 jumbo, give it a Venitian cutaway, make the body 21mm deeper, make the whole thing out of mahogany, African blackwood bridge, graphite nut and bridge, figured ebony fretboard, graphite truss rod, and near shaved out bracing, and you have the idea. Designed it years back with Scott before he moved to Chicago I think. It would be $7.7k 20 years ago so I'm still dreaming to have it. 1: DPI Blackfoot-12. Another design of mine. Body: jumbo profile, top and bottom 36inch arc. Carbon fiber construction. 12 string, twin mandible headstock (Saruman's eye only hooked like cathedral windows.) I'd say more but I've got to build the damn thing first.
The John Mayer Fender - get the spec and build one! I have every strat and super strat I could ever want so: Brian May Red One* An old Washburn Eagle - the pickups have a sound like no other under distortion Gretch - For my Stray Cat moments Gibo Flying V Coral Sitar - Vai'tastic! ...or 'Vai Not?!' *I played one once and you move the pickup selector switches and go 'Ooh, I know that, what song is that from?!?' Sounds like no other!
It's right around 10lb, or 4.5kg or something in that area. Which is about what your typical Les Paul without weight relief would be. Which is quite shocking, it's so much thinner than LP. Rosewood is very dense. Although, I've had an all maple Godin which was almost as heavy, and in a similar shape to a stratocaster. So it's bearable, but just so uncomfortable to have it hanging on your shoulder for a long periods of time.
1 - David Gilmour Signature Strat 2 - Ibanez Joe Satriani signsture acoustic-electric 3 - PRS SE Zach Myers Signature 4 - Yngwie Malmsteen signature Strat (the nylon string one) 5 - Jason Mraz Signature model from Taylor
Wow, I love listening to you talking about guitars, it's like listening to Nigella talking about her favourite desert dish but way more interesting haha. I'm a fan of signature models myself and currently have a blue Dave Grohl DG-335, a Cobain relic Jaguar and a Thurston Moore Jazzmaster. Hoping to add a Billy Corgan strat at some point too, still working towards that one. Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work and I hope you get hold of those guitars soon.
My signature guitar list is 1) Fender's SRV Lenny 2) Ibanez's Steve Vai signature Jem 3) Gibson's Gary Moore signature Les Paul 4) Paul Reed Smith's Santana signature guitar 5) Fender's Roy Buchanan signature telecaster
Mary, love the topic, some of my top picks are Fender Clapton Crash, Gibson Johnny A model, Turner Lindsay Buckingham model 1, Gretsch custom shop Brian Setzer, a real 59 Gibson Les Paul (not a signature)
Wow, did not expect you to be into the Tosin prototype, haha! Would love to see you play on an 8 string. (Those bass lines tho) My top 5 signature guitars... 5: Ibanez JBM 100 Jake Bowen signature 4: Mayones Qatsi in Juice Burst 3: Music Man Majesty in purple 2: Aaron Marshall's Aqua Sparkle Aristides 060 1: Strandberg boden OS Plini signature. Would trade my Music Man JPX for one of these...
John Mayer super eagle Frank Gambale signature kiesel Jimmy Page Gibson les Paul Ritchie kotzen signature telecaster Ibanez JSM john scofield signature I’m late to the game with your channel, but you’re absolutely killing it!
My top 5 would probably be: Pensa Suhr Mark Knopfler PRS Mark Tremonti Jackson Chris Broderick Charvel Guthrie Govan And to throw a custom guitar on the list, anything made by John Monteleone. His guitars are so gorgeous Mark Knopfler wrote a song about him.
Unfortunately, I've not been to the US yet but his shop would definitely be on my list of places to see, I love how the Mark Knopfler guitar looks and I love the styling of a lot of his and John Suhr's guitars. One day, it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.
I 100% also found Mayer with Where the light is; "late to the party." Love Bonnie Raitt too. but yes just like you said, i have a black strat because i saw Clapton's and love mayer's strat too.
When I was a kid I wanted the red triangle shaped Gorky Park guitar. Then I discovered Paul Gilbert (rippin' guitarist he is) ...and his Ibanez RG with the "f" hole graphics. Now I want his signature Fireman! Lastly, Gibson was making a Buckethead signature model Les Paul a few years ago and I missed that bus. Would've liked to have owned one of those for sure... maybe someday I'll find one at a rummage sale who knows...lol
Keep searching :D Paul Gilbert is just insanely talented and incredible. I'm afraid to say but I'm actually new to his work and discovered him recently thanks to an Anderton's video. Really getting educated through these videos and my audience. :D
Yes, Yvette Young did design and paint the design on the guitar. Yvette is a polymath, one of the talents is art. I'm sure she would be interested in a proposition to paint a guitar.
Clapton and Gilmore´s Strats, Chet Atkins Gretsch, Bonamassa´s Les Paul and most of all, the St Vincent Music Man, the most innovative guitar I have seen for years! Brett Kingman has one and makes it sing!! Love your singing and playing Mary, more power to you.
I love unique guitars too. Strandberg, RR flying v and ibanez gem have to be mine. Not usually a fan of single cut guitars but Tosins new one looks so nice.
I think the five signature models, I'd most want, would be as follows: the Fender George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster the Martin Jeff Daniels OM the Fender Lee Ranaldo Jazzmaster the Martin 00-42SC John Mayer signature model. the Fender Tony Franklin Fretless P-Bass Gibson also had the BB King Lucille model available in a variety of interesting, limited edition colors, once upon a time, and I regret not being able to get the Amethyst version.
I like your choices, they're really good. In addition to those you've already mentioned, my choies would be: 1 Brian May's Red Special 2 Troy Van Leeuwen's Jazzmaster 3 Gretsch Brian Setzer signature (which I already possess) 4 steve Vai's ibanez uv777 5 Karl Sanders's or Michael Shncker's respective Dean V signatures. Honrable mention to John Petrucci's Music Man Majesty 7, that thing seems pretty great too.
SRV first signature, Ritchie Kotzen Telecaster, Jason Becker Keisel Toy/numbers Guitar, Billy Corgan Reverend and a Mary Spender Signature guitar whenever it comes out
in regard to the bubble foot double neck being a "metal guitar" i personally like the tonal differential of guitars designed to be played heavily but that are used in a clean environment i for example play a schecter c1 elite amber and i love its clean tones. thanks for the great video keep it up
I am lucky to have the following: yngwie strat sambora strat Matt Bellamy mason A Jem signed by Mr Vai I would love Satch's chrome boy A Jem GMC so want that guitar great channel keep on rocking
Stevie Ray Vaughn, Neal Schon "Raised on the Radio" version, Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads, and Paul Gilbert signatures. Enjoying your vids. Your one of few females on RU-vid really dedicated and knowledgeable about guitars. Keep up the great work. 👍🎸😘
Interesting topic, and great choices! For me, I think it would be: Richie Sambora's custom triple-neck Ovation 6 / 12 / mandolin Joe Satriani's Crystal Planet or Chromeboy Ibanez JS (hard to choose) Chris Robertson's PRS SE Ian Thornley's Suhr Classic JM Reb Beach's Ibanez Voyager RBM2 Of those, could probably only afford the PRS :)
Some great choices there! I would have to go for (in no particular order) 1. EBMM Luke 3 2. EVH Striped Series 5150 (OMG!!) 3. GIbson Alex Lifeson Axcess Les Paul 4. Charvel Guthrie Govan 5. Ibanez PGM100
Some interesting choices there and I don't think I would choose any of being honest, but that is one of the many things that makes guitar geekery interesting. I think I would go for a PRS McCarty 594, Gibson Les Paul, Eric Johnson Fender Strat, Gibson BB King Lucille and just to mix it up a bit a Musicman John Petrucci Majesty. Congrats on getting the Andertons work. Hopefully raise your profile somewhat.
Eric Johnson Strat Thinline, John Mayer PRS Silver Sky, Fender Ed O'Brien Strat, PRS McCarty 594 SC and the Campbell Nelsonic Transitone. Surprisingly hard to think of five signature guitars I would want, although I would like almost anything Ulrich Teuffel makes, almost any model of Simon Farmer's GUS guitars and a Klein electric.
The one I want above all else is Matt Heafy's (Trivium) new white Les Paul Custom signature. Everything on that guitar is white, white paint, white pickups, even a white coloured fingerboard. It hasn't been released yet, so I'm eagerly awaiting it to come out.
1. David Gilmore sig Strat 2. Eric Clapton sig Strat 3. Nancy Wilson Nighthawk Standard Gibson 3. Slash Rosso Corsa Les Paul 4. Kirk Hammet Sig ESP 5. Any custom shop guitar from either Fender or Gibson .
Hi Mary, just found your channel via Andertons. Here would be my five if money wasn't an issue 1) Prince Cloud Guitar 2) Ibanez RBM2 Reb Beach 3) Musicman Luke 4) Fender Eric Johnson Strat 5) PRS DGT David Grissom Great Channel by the way, new subscriber
Cool choices Mary. I rather fancy the EBMM James Valentine - preferably with an Ebony 'board and Trans Orange finish; Fender CS Danny Gatton Telecaster (again with Ebony fretboard) in Candy Tangerine; A Gibson CS ES-335 1959 replica in Navelina Gold Sparkle (not a signature instrument, but only 25 worldwide); A Fender CS Eric Johnson Strat in either Shell Pink or Daphne Blue (I could have both counting as one choice, right?) with the active boost from an Eric Clapton Strat in place of the middle pickup tone control; A Framus Phil X XG in Orange Sparkle and a single P90 (he has one!!) And last but by no means least a Framus Tennessee Custom (custom order only, they no longer make them) with 2 P90s in, yes, Orange. I know, that's six or seven, but hey!
Wow what incredible choices! Maybe I need to do an updated list of the signatures I now want. After everyone's suggestions I've discovered so many new instruments!
I now have to add another couple to the list ( you did say list, right? Not just five?😉). Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar & Troy Van Leeuwen Signature Jazzmaster. And, whilst it isn't a signature guitar, a Relish Jane with the same additional appointments as recommended by Steve Vai's (and everybody's!) tech, Thomas Nordegg. I wonder if I could have an orange one.... In fact, you probably ought to check out Relish guitars, as the other model is called..... Mary!
My list would be: 1°Schecter Synyster Custom-S(mostly because he is my favorite guitarist and A7x is my favorite band, but it's a sick guitar and one of the reasons why Schecter is my favorite brand) 2°Schecter Zacky Vengeance Custom. 3°B.C.Rich Kerry King's Flying V. 4°Epiphone Matt Heafy's Custom Les Paul. 5°Ibanez Jem.
Guitars to Collect : Fender Rory Gallagher Strat, Van Halen EVH Wolfgang Special, ibanez Steve Vai GEM IV; Fender Jimi Hendrix White Strat; Gibson 1958 Les Paul; Godin Summit Classic GT CT.
My Top Five are: - Ibanez JEM Steve Vai Evo - Chapman Rabea Massaad ML3 BEA (2017 model) - Ibanez TAM100 Tosin Abasi 8-String (of course his OLD model) - Charvel Guthrie Govan Signature - PRS Mark Holcomb Limited Edition I wish my wife had at least 5% of your enthusiasm for guitars....:-)
haha - it's always good to have only one guitar lover in the relationship, the other is the voice of reason! Oh the JEM, I'd love that guitar too. I think my 2018 list will be slightly different. Wasn't fussed about the TAM100 as I'm not too into the traditional Ibanez looking guitars, but I get that they're incredible.
I now know why I haven't seen video. Been looking without the Tuesday....enjoy your work in the music business. You always have a great retort with those you play with.
I like the way you 're presenting your "Top Five" - very personal, with respect to the artist, but also with a lot of passion for guitars. Personally there's bit an issue according to signature guitars. For me it feels something like jumping in a strange pair of broken in shoes. But of course there are some signature models I like for different reason - 1. Duesenberg Jonny Depp Artist series - minimalistic and aboslutely amazing to play - 2.) Rory Gallagher relic strat (same story for me like the John Mayer Strat for you 3.) Robbie Krieger 1954 Les Paul - Minihumbucker - neck; p-90 bridge - great idea 4. Brian May Red special - ingenious and versatile DIY concept - 5. one day a mary spender Vigier - but perhaps i would modify mine with a Dusenberg Domino in Bridge Position - joke aside - i like the way it looks and sounds but have a strong preference for the Dusenberg and I still have no surf green in my collection ;)
I agree with the 3 guitars that you posted that I actually own. The double guitar was a eye opeining experience. As I m used to the 12 string 6 string Gibson version. That you play very well I have no doubt it would not make a difference when you play. Thanks for the post. Now that the weather has calmed here in Texas. I ll enjoy the rest of the summer. Have a great years without the soul concerns. Every guitar player I ve ever like has plenty of soul.....just as you say.
Great video, Mary. Love your channel. I was so happy when I saw you in the Andertons Video. Well, for me it would be 1 - ESP LTD BK-600 Bill Kelliher Signature 2 - Rory Gallagher Strat 3 - EVH Van Halen Striped Series 4 - Buddy Guy Strat 5 - Enie Ball St Vincent
