one of the many things that amazes me about NIGHTWISH is the number of young people at their concerts.its just good to know the younger generation appreciates great music
I'm still wondering about that,because it is Anette Olzon who is singing on the Imagenerium album and Floor was not really wellknown and Anette is more poppy singing,so,Floor took them by surprise.😆🤘 And what a surprise it was,legendary.😉
That has never changed, but these days for some strange reason record sales and concert ticket sales mean absolutely nothing. Only thing that matters is how many streams you have on Spotify which 5% of the worlds population uses. And this is not the music people listen too on Spotify.
@@js0988 Well,one thing is clear for me,that Floor is a inspiration for a lot of young women and you also see a lot of 60+ people reacting on youtube to Nightwish and Floor .Ofcourse all other ages are well represented,so it really stands out that they have such a large age group of followers
They do have fun. Troy and Empu are seen chatting and plotting to turn off Floors ear monitors, as a joke, During "I want my tears back" Near the end you see Floor avoiding Empu to stop him doing it again. Empu is the joker of the band.
Thanks you guys for doing this, i enjoyed it. FLOOR IS singing in Amsterdam at the Metallica concert, my son is not a fan but he send me an app en said "really, she has a very good voice, very clean.. just got another message about Floor with Henk singing the phantom. His reaction " holy shit, this is not normal"" ( as good as she is)oké this one is f.cking amazing", the audience went crazy He did send me a little bit, she was indeed very, very good, as always ofcourse but it was nice to hear from somebody who is not a fan.
As a old Metallica fan and recent Nightwish fan I really liked seeing Floor as the Metallica support. Especially with Henk. I've seen them in November doing the Phantom and just a few months later at the Metallica concert is just great. Since Nightwish will not tour their new album, I decided to treat my daughter on an extra Nightwish concert in June (Germany). Also the Metallica concert was great and although I'm not a fan of the 'slow' numbers of Floor, I did appreciate seeing her their.
There are still outstanding songs still left here at Wacken. But, now may be the time to move on to their Wembley Arena show. Songs like "Shutter before the Beautiful", "Yours is an Empty Hope" and "7 Days to the Wolves"... just to name a few.
That was fun. This group really loves what they are doing. At 19:15 Emppu pranks Floor by turning of her in-ear monitor. Then she keeps a close eye on him when he comes back. It tickles me to see the height difference. 😊🤘
Nightwish actually thinks of themselves like bards. Traveling musicians spreading joy as they travel. They have a song called Edema Ruh about it. :) Do yourselves a favour too and watch the Buenos Aires version of I Want my Tears Back. It's pretty epic and sooo much fun! They love the smaller venues too. Floor likes to connect with the crowd and says it's harder with the huge barriers and distance on the big concerts.

There's also a version of this song with Finnish lyrics & it's called "Erämaan viimeinen", which ia a literal translation. 2. "I Want My Tears Back" is Tuomas remembering his happy & innocent childhood and wanting to relive it. 3. "Ghost River" is a song about finding hope despite adversity. The lyrics follow a person struggling against the wild, unpredictable nature of life and the dark forces of oppression. Ultimately, this song is a call to persevere despite the chaos and darkness (Marco singing) of life in order to find hope (Floor singing). 4. "Song of Myself" is based on Walt Whitman's poem of the same title & Whitman is also mentioned in the lyrics. It's about recognizing the beauty of life, the importance of love, and the need for empathy and understanding in order to create a better world. However, one should also listen to the much longer album version with extended lyrics to really understand this song. 5. They ended the show with "Last Ride of the Day", which is a song that speaks to the beauty and mystery of life. The lyrics suggest that life is like a carnival, with ups and downs and rich experiences along the way.

Hey guys. I loved this entire reaction by both of you. A couple of funny points happened during the song "I Want My Tears Back". At the point in your video where the timestamp was. 16:00, you can see that Empuu (the guitarist) hatches a plot with Troy, the multi-instrumentalist and pipes player. Then at timestamp 19:15, Empuu cuts behind Floor, and although it is difficult to see, he reaches out and cuts of her in-ears monitor that she has on her hip. At 19:17, Floor reaches behind herself to switch her in-ears back on. Then at 19:44 Empuu cuts back behind Floor but she turns on him and says, "I'm watching you." Great fun. The smiling jokester of the band is their amazing guitarist, Empuu Vourinen. He is the court jester of this magical metal band of bards. (By the way, I am an old school dungean master myself, age 66). I love your reactions and thank you both for this.
After the " I want my tears back" Floor did her trick to get the audience roaring, and after the first roar she said "this is F..." and managed to avoid the F word, the use of it not unusual in her previous band Revamp, but in sophisticated Nightwish a no no 🙂
Congrats on 5K!! In this concert, on guitar- Emppu Vuorinen, bass Marko Hietala, keys Tuomas Holopainen, drums Jukka Nevalainen, multi instrumentalist Troy Donockley, and you know Floor. Eramaan Viimeinen is the same song as Last of the Wilds, with a few minor differences, which has Finnish lyrics sung by Jonsu from Indica. 2nd single from 2007 Dark Passion Play, the 1st album with Anette. Troy plays the Uilleann (ill-en or ill-yen) pipes, the Irish bagpipes which use a bellows squeezed by the elbow to inflate the bag. Uilleann is the Gaelic word for elbow. Also playing a tin whistle. if you haven't figured it out, Emppu is the band jokester. lol. I Want My Tears Back, I see as a longing to feel emotion the way one did when they were younger. 3 part harmony in this, Floor ,Marko, and Troy. This version has Emppu's stage prank on Floor. You see him telling Troy his plan at the beginning. Later, when he crosses behind her, he unplugs her in ears. When he crosses back, she stares him down so he can't do it again. They played this on the most recent tour, with Troy taking over most of Marko's vocal parts, and no 3rd harmony. Later, on your own, check out the Buenos Aires 2018 version for the South American crowd and Floor dancing all over the stage. Imaginaerum album of 2011, 2nd with Anette. Tuomas (primary songwriter) has said that Ghost River is a duel between the Devil and mother Gaia. Love the back and forth vocals. Also from the Imaginaerum album( this was the tour for that record). If we hadn't already mentioned it, Floor had been with them about 10 months here, having taken over mid tour. Every song was written for one of the 1st 2 singers, she added to the originals and made them her own. Song of Myself- FAVORITE song of the late Ann Waychoff ,Mother of the Nightwish Army. 🕯 Inspired by the 52 chapter , 19th century poem of the same name by Walt Whitman. The studio version, also from Imaginaerum, has a spoken poem section at the end, written by Tuomas in an ode to the original. the words to the poem are what you see on the big screen behind the band. Song #14, right after Ghost Love Score. Last Ride of the Day. Inspired by roller coaster rides, it is usually played at, or near, the end of the set. And here's another important tip for both songs: show the lyrics! Parts of it are very quiet in both songs and covered by the music. They are therefore difficult to understand.

ha ha, group of heavy metal bards😂 During this song Last of the Wilds", the wardroom incident happened (Floor losing the fight with her zipper during the dress change). So for the next song (Bless The Child) she had to run to get in time at the mic (and almost missed it). During the interlude in GLS she managed to fix it.

There's only one song that is better as a closing number, than "Last ride of the day' and that is 'The Greatest Show on Earth' from Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour. It's a 20 minuttes song about the formation of earth, evolution and the rise of man (And possibly the end as well). I can't describe how good that is. You can chose between Wembly or Tampere (in Finland) and both have their own merits and are IMHO equally good.

Also, "Sleeping Sun" and "She's My Sin" are older songs from their first albums and Floor does them so much justice. They are all from Wacken, but if you're feeling a need to change venue, "Yours is an empty hope" from the Mexico concert will blow your socks off (them growls!).

If you are looking for an excellent ending for a NW performance, I would recommend watching ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ live at Tampere in Finland. It is truely spectacular and one of the greatest live performances I have ever seen from any band (IMO). Keep up the great work. Look forward to the next reaction. "Dead Boy´s Poem", Buenos Aires 2018 please "Last Ride of the Day" is the 2nd best closer they had, in 2015 Tuomas and Marko (Keys and Bass/Vocals) composed a masterpiece, it is about evolution and it compresses 4.6 Billion years into a 21minutes Epos, named "The Greatest Show on Earth" that is a closing act, but "save the best for last" !
Quite fresh Nightwish fan here (Italian division) and you just won my subcription to the channel. Great reaction and the fact that you do not butcher the videos and give your honest and on point opinion at the end surely helps. I do not think 10k is so far away.
Emppu Vuorinen the we fire cracker and prankster is a great guitarist but is only 1.6M tall compare to say Floor who towers over him at 1.83M tall without heels add another 3 inches Floor must be like a giant to him lol. Last ride of the day is there last song.

Your reactions are most importantly AUTHENTIC, I really hate those overdramatic gestures some reactors do, it looks so fake. Also, you both are really observant, pick up and comment on things that a lot of reactors miss. A pipeline for beer is underground the festival terrain and according to the Wacken managing director more than 100,000 gallons of beer were consumed during these 3 days ( I would have expected a lot more....)

At this moment "last ride of the day" is my favourite Nightwish song. It's so uplifting the lirics are super good. The recording from Masters of Rock in Chech Republic is even better then this from Wacken.
Hi guys I'm from East London England what a absolutely fantastic video and I've seen a few of your videos, mostly of Nightwish and Sabaton and have enjoyed them all I don't know if you've heard of a band called Epica, they are also a Symphonic metal band but with a bit of death metal thrown in. Like Floor Jansen they are from the Netherlands and made a live concert in 2013 called Retrospect 10th anniversary which is a bit different from Nightwish. Its not easy to pick any song from it because I love the whole concert as much as I love Nightwish. So here goes no:1 Unleashed and no:2 Sancta Terra ft Floor Jansen. If you find the time to view them I do sincerely hope that you will enjoy them like I do.
The band was at its best with this lineup. Marko still on bass and Jukka on the drums. Floor and Troy has settled into their roles. Nothing against the new bass player Jukka or Kai replacing Jukka on drums. Yes the new bass players name is the same as the old drummer. NightWish was solid before Floor and Troy and still very good after Jukka and Marko departed but the 6 on stage in this time period is the best🤘

There was no sign of the good mood 10 months beforehand. The first photo with Floor shows a band that just wants to somehow finish the tour and then hole up. After Anette's expulsion, the band is finished. It's a completely different band here, to this day.
So you now have seen the beginning of the journey with Floor Jansen as the lead singer of Nightwish. So there is so much more to discover 😉. The best is still missing.
