I'd argue that Salah, mane, firmino were a stronger starting 3, but yeah our attacking options are pretty ridiculous this season. Just need to get Darwin scoring more consistently.
I think we could actually go on and retain this cup to make it 2 in a row for the second time in our history of this competition as the first time was in the early 80s when we last retained it
I'm sat here, wondering why they keep cutting to Slot standing on the touchline? Then i realised that was him reacting to the goals.. 😂 His celebrations consisted of a grin, that turned into a smile, that then turned into a big smile! Love that cool, calm demeanor.. YNWA
He isn't doing anything he wasn't already doing, people just only notice when he misses but pay no attention to what he does the other 89 minutes @@yakka.2974
Gakpo should've gotten MOTM in my opinion; played consistently for the 90 mins, got 2 clinical last minute goals, delivered a great cross for Chiesa to get an assist and was a constant threat with his dribbling and cutting onto that lethal right foot. Diaz has competition for sure and I would go as far to say that Liverpool have the best attacking depth in the league, and maybe the world.
Don't get too carried away. This is West Ham B team who are 14th in the league. And they didn't even make it to a European competition. It's not like they're playing Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, man city, real Madrid, etc.
It's so wonderful to watch Liverpool play a game where the goals kept coming. The boys really deserve the win as all of them put in their hard work, including the goalkeeper. It was incredible!
😂 interesting that as an arsenal fan I also think Liverpool will be a greater threat than city looking at how the etihad games with us are not scary at all
I'm rooting for you, ENDO. Keep fighting, improve yourself, and regain your starting position. I want to see you in more Premier League and Champions League games.❤️YNWA ,LFC from Thailand ❤️
Curtis Jones' suddenly change of pace after receiving the return pass and that through ball surprised the WH defenders and easily took out like 4 of them. 🤩
I love all the players on this squad. So good to see Cheisa smiling on the pitch again and getting an assist on his first debut start. Jones, endo, kelleher, gakpo, Jota were brilliant
I am only interested in West Ham because of the beauty they showed when playing football last season. Kudus , Paqueta and Bowen aren't showing what they showed last season. This is so embarrassing. I won't be surprised if West Ham get relegated in the end of this season. The coach is what makes me angry more. How can he put Mo Kudus on bench and only bring him in as late as 79 minutes into the match. Does he expect him to sweep the pitch because the match is over?!In my opinion the three big teams Kudus usually put up a spectacular performance are Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool. This is so disapointing !!!!!!
Tactical changes at halftime by Slot forcing West Ham to choose between pressing high or on the wings. This created the space in the middle of the box where LFC got many chances to score. This led to the red card for Alvarez who Slot knows from the Eredivisie. Happy to see that Endo got playtime and received guidance on the pitch during halftime what he needed to change to get more playtime. Endo has to learn to play forward and to look for the best option instead of return the ball back to the CBs which is why in a reflex due to high pressure he "prepared" Quansah's own goal. Instead of defending he needed to learn pressing and intercepting. In the 2nd half Endo has shown he can change, but he will need to display he can fast forward LFC's play. Only time will tell how quickly he can improve. Another positive was Chiesa who was far from the guy he used to be. Still he is a type of player that needs to play frequently to get his form back. When he does, he will be an excellent sensation.
Gakpo is always hungry for goals. He's really someone that is growing into a really important player for both club and country. Gakpo and Jota MUST be starting games.
Jota's first goal. Salah's goal. Such types of goals often leave me wondering how certain players always seem to find themselves in the right positions to score. It's almost like the ball looks for and finds them. Brilliant.
