@@Revoluciona41 My brothers will never admit this lol. But they dedicate I want it that way to me every birthday. Because I played it on repeat in my teens.
I’m also 35 and I have had this song stuck in my head for days and I finally decided to watch the video and now I’ll never sleep again because of homeboy’s Joe Exotic eyebrow piercing. I’m also a body piercer, so I am truly traumatized. 😂
millennials have the best childhood a healthy dose of pre-social media and enough sense to care ab the future - from a gen z who wishes i was born 10 yrs earlier love u 🥰🥰
This video is, without a doubt, the best example of late 90s streetwear I've ever seen. I'm tired of kids today thinking of what adults wore to trip balls in nightclubs was 90s fashion. Like, ...no. We dressed like coffeehouse vampires. *All the time*. People were afraid to talk to us and that's how we liked it!
37 years old sitting here with my glass of wine belting out the lyrics like I'm 15 again. Just trying to get through this BS year of 2020. Songs like this will help us get thru it!!
This world is cruel this world is wicked this world is deceitful filled with all kinds of Temptations. but….. Deep in each of our hearts we do know, how to escape from evil and their lies, by COMING TO CHRIST: REPENT AND BORN AGAIN. in return getting: peace protection guidance comfort
A wee bit older than that and I still listen to it. I was in my clubbing days in Europe (and in the Army) and this song was on constant rotation in the clubs.
I'm doing it tonight since it's my birthday and I just turned 38.Im the only one in my house that still listens to music like this so I'm jamming by myself with my headphones on
@@MelanieJustice82 Aww sorry I'm late replying but Happy belated birthday. And as to your response, I agree cause I still do I'm 38 as well. My birthday was on April 💕✨😁 thank you
Soon to be 32 also and still enjoying my 90s hits, takes me back to dancing in my room ^^ not having another care than getting the choreography right xD.
Every time the electricity goes off, I have to sing this song and drive everybody crazy. Hey, at least I entertain until the lights come back on. And if my older sister is around, we do a two-part harmony and rupture every eardrum around. Lol.

+Alonna Gilmore lol I sometimes do that too. I watched an old Aaliyah music video and now I watched this. I was a 12 year old male when I first saw this video in 1998 and I remember liking it but at the time I didn't know I was gay and me liking it back then had more to do with me being attracted to them. I'm not saying they suck it's only a little catchy but it's such an extremely 90's looking boyband and a little embarrassing to watch today.
I was 100% Britney Spears, *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys. Born 1984- was 14 almost 15-Went to some spring break youth group skiing trip in Vermont, (from NC and was not active in said youth group) a boy from Scotland literally ran me over on his skiis. We spent the entire 10 days together. It was very dramatic and romantic, for 15 year-olds. :) he ended up giving me a Jenny K ring before he left, proposing. Lol. We kept in touch for an entire year, then went to see him for my 16th birthday. But before he left Vermont, he literally wrote out the lyrics to every song on the 5ive, 5ive album for me. And then a love letter. To date, and I am now just turned 37, the most romantic thing that has ever fucking happened to me. I literally forgot about this song, this group, until I heard it on one of my children’s pads earlier during their hour-pad time. I was like O.o?!?! That’s meeeee! MmmmmMmm…the memories are delicious. :p Edit: my favorite is the dark spikey-haired boy. With the pretty voice. Mhm. Completely forgot about this group. I’m so happy I found them again.
@@ladylinh yes thank you. It was totally benign, but at 15c so dramatically romantic. Clandestine meetings in the game room, trudging through the snow for the youth group dance, etc. haha. Then meeting a year later at his oil Baron family’scastle in Scotland. (Which was effing nuts, I thought I grew up privileged being the daughter of a surgeon.). getting my belly button pierced because it was legal there at 16. So. Yes. It was actually really really sweet, looking back. I’m grateful I had that experience, 100% absolutely. And…I still Google the Disney concert 5ive did, every once in a while. it’s literally barely 240hp. But when he (spiky hair boy)sings, “until the time is through”. So good.
The guy with the blonde 90s pretty boy hair... His eyes are so wide, I'm convinced he's peering into our souls.... also sort of looks like he could be a really shitty defense attorney. You know, that guy who follows his dad's footsteps and pursues a career in law, but it turns out, no matter what he does, he just doesn't have the passion for it, so he often pissed his time away partying with friends instead of studying in college....now it's really hard for him to come up with good defense arguments, and to be honest, he doesn't fucking want to look at those textbooks again, so he wings it in court, thinking he's a natural because "law runs in the family"...but every time a judge sees him in court, they are 98% certain he'll just embarrass himself and his clients....but he keeps coming back, because as a state defense attorney, he still gets paid when he loses, so at least he can pay his own bills. If he could go back, he would, but where would he go? Where would he be? He'd probably still be pursuing a solo music career, even though he knows damn well that the only thing that made him famous was his long dangly bangs and bright psycho blue eyes....and even those looks will fade, someday....moreso than they already have in the last 20 years....
@@MadbutBad07 I guess it depends on the "industry acceptance", promotion, and marketing/market just to name a few. At the end of the day some don't see success in terms of the US and such. Every one of a few songs they can "escape" the "domestic boundaries" like for example Kylie Minogue or even Take That but overall I don't think that success is meant to be a US thing after all.
also, Nick Carter was pissed when he heard this song thinking it should have been offered to them first. BSB also turned down Tearin' Up My Heart which was a breakout hit for Nsync.
These decisions are kind of hard to judge because it also depends on the group themselves (whether it's a match for them or the album), marketing budget, etc.
@Famous West Are you talking about me, Jennifer? Or the singer? I personally, love my thick brows, no offense to people with thin brows. But I will defend myself & let you know, "no eyebrows" are associated with old people who are losing hair and aging process in general. I'll keep mine thick as long as I can thanks. 🤗
@@urhypeboy Says (I assume) a Gen Z? I'd go on to say a large majority of the music was pretty awful too, music started quickly dying in the late '80s, just after it had peaked from the '60s to then. Stuff got too poppy and record companies started controlling what got put out, and no one realized how bad it would get. Everything sounds like the same poppy, generic cheap karaoke song. Even most country is just twangy pop now.
Felipe Azúa yeah but the older people of the 90s said the same about the bands they grew up with in the 80s and 70s. It's because you grew up with it and music now has changed so of course you love it and maybe even like the music from before better. Feels like each generation will always be manly stuck on the music from their childhood. When you are a kid you have all of the time in the world to find what songs are in and cool. When you get older you ain't got time for that. So you stick with what you know
Listening to this as an adult, I realized they can actually really sing! I miss them.I miss my childhood. I swear id give anything just to go back for an HR.. good times ♥️
😮 also, it may have been a big hit, but that may have been due to nsyncs popularity. So many songs have gone to others that would've never worked with other artists.
I think these guys deserved more attention than what they got. They probably would have had more hits in the States, too if we didn’t already have these other boy bands on the radio at the time.
Of course not , bye bye was more suitable for nsync, but for me, 5ive got more hits than nsync , its not about youtube views , its about the music quality.
Simon turned down Bye bye bye coz he wanted Baby One More Time for them but the latter song was already locked for Britney who was still unknown at that time.
Are you kidding me??? You think kids didn't understand this song? It's not very subtle at all."I feel you getting closer. Now take your close off. your body feels so soft.." There is no innuendo. he's saying exactly what he wants. Kids aren't stupid. When I was 9 years old boys were telling girls to suck their dicks and saying the Spice Girls shaved their pussies. Kids are not unaware. I think the adults didn't listen to this before they approved it for lil girls.
I remember they did the concert on Disney Channel (remember when they used to have those? *NSYNC did it, Leann Rimes, these guys, B*Witch, etc) and that entire rap break down was left out. I don't remember the music video being shown but I'm guessing they edited the same way. This whole song is pretty obvious, as a kid I loved the music and melody, and that's what drew me in, but that breakdown is wayyy to obvious 😳.
Aqui no Brasil nós ajudamos o Five a alcançar muito sucesso. Mas na Europa e USA era difícil por ter Backstreet Boys, N'SYNC, Westlife e Spice Girls no páreo.
Underrated, where ?? They are the British version of NSYNC with similar drama too. But I miss them and wish they would do a reunion tour like others are doing ❤😂🎉
@@krismatl25No they are not. The only thing similar was their fake attempt of being “Urban” with the Fake American accents. Plus, when they attempt to sing slow songs, their mediocrity is exposed. NSYNC could outshine them with harmonies, JC’s natural gifted vocals and plus their hard core dance steps and actual talent for ballads!
jcr89 yeah bro ...I used to record the songs on video back then, and I'd come home trying to figure them out...I love how they made side stepping and arm moves look like super hard... Now I can do that in my sleep
They are adorable. The harmony, the dances, the rap! I missed 90's and early 2000's already. Now the quality in singing and song lyrics has been decreasingly devestating. I also missed my former room with posters of artist all over it! Oh my gosh - the memories start rushing in, is there anything else that I missed...? 😢 the world has been changing 180° by now
5ive hands down my fav boy band from back in the day. Everyone was on Backstreet and *NSYNC, but for me these lads were tops. 37 years old and still finding myself putting on these tunes, timeless! Lol
@@breezilokaguerita9356 in high school that's how we use to dress with baggy pants and sometimes baggy overalls covering our shoes. My dad wasn't too happy.
Really? Still didnt notice now, and not until i google the lyrics and will find out the meanings seconds after i post this comment. Im 33 and im ashamed of myself
78 here! The 90's were my teen years and just getting into my 20's at the end. It's funny, but I wish I had been around the whole 70's and been older in the 80's.
This quarentine has me down memory lane with 5ive, damn! They used and still are my favorite boy band. All of their songs are sooooo good, I really wish I could go back
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS USED TO BE ONE OF THE MUSIC VIDEOS THEY SHOWED IN BETWEEN EPISODES OF SHOWS ON DISNEY! I NEVER KNEW THE LYRICS. WOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED.
@@jessicac359 yes. But, the good side is, we are alive to tell we lived these moments. Music now is trash. Who will rember any song we have now, 20 years ahead?
@@apdorafa-rafaelalmeida7159 Oh I know it. I agree with you 100%. The music my kids listen to now is just horrible. I still jam out to my music from back in the day. I always have 90s and early 2000s music playing in my car.
Im 54 and even i love it brings back .memories wen i use to get my kids ready in 97 and 98 and kids had the radio on getting ready 4 school everyone running around. Kids hav growd im gettin on but 5ive makes me alive and young
