I love Pop Smoke, but let's be real: he popularized drill in the US. However, drill originated in the UK; folks in the UK have been rapping like this for over 10 years. The US is just now catching on. I'm not even American or British, just an innocent bystander/civilian who's spitting straight facts. Americans like to take and act as if they created it. It's crazy how history keeps repeating itself. Rap, as we know it today, isn't even a Black American invention/art; y'all took it from the Jamaicans and changed the name. Now, some Americans are acting as if drill was invented here. Nothing in the US is from here; food, clothes, and clutter are all imported. Almost everything here is originally from elsewhere, just saying lol.
