If you're on Xbox and you can't hear your or you're trying to watch prime video or using any other app and there is no sound, go to your "settings" and then to "volume and audio output" and then go to "additional options" and turn off "Allow passthrough" if you have this turned on it does exactly what it says which is allowing the audio to pass through. Meaning you're not going to hear it.

Have you tried checking your laptop audio settings? In case you haven’t then kindly increase audio level. Second thing is try playing any RU-vid video and listen to the sound, if it is good on RU-vid and low on amazon the problem will be with prime video audio setting

Click home button from ur remote or stick then select settings and then select display and sound option, there u find surround sound and under that there will be 4 options so choose stereo and check the sound. If not working select another option in surround sound and then check again
