This video is designed for you to fix your broken or stuck keyboard keys while watching. These keyboards are notorious for having a sticking key that doesn't recoil as fast or at all. Instead of taking it in to the shop learn how to fix it yourself. Also in this video learn how to fix your keys without buying new ones online and waiting for them to arrive in the mail!!
For other models that use the same key-bed, just open it up to reveal the bed of keys and use the same process starting at 11:27.

Thank you so very much for this super helpful tutorial. We simply could not find anybody to repair a sluggish D key on our Yamaha digital piano YDP 121. Thanks to your clear and calm instructions in real time we have been able to fix this problem, using the switch around idea. You are an excellent teacher and we are very grateful to you.

Thanks! This video helped me solve my problem with the sticky key. After seeing this I dared to open the cover and fix the key myself.

+Bengt Svensson, glad to help my friend. Sometimes we just need a little boost of confidence to get in there and try it out ourselves. That's how we learn new things.

Thank You!!! I had a YDP-223 that had sticky keys (some sort of juice... YUCK!). I took it apart (per your instructions) and was able to clean and replace the offending keys. Now it is all good! You should add that your fix also works for Yamaha ADP keyboards. Thanks again!

I have a p115. The last C has something underneath it like a piece of paper and the key won't go down. I can't take the foreign object without taking apart the piano. I'm scared of doing more damage if I do it myself.

Have 2 raised black keys need repair on YDP-S54. Does this work for this piano

What does it mean when there is a cluster of keys that are really hard to press on the same model? They all move independently of each other but are really stiff to press down like there is something underneath them.

Question: Just bought a new P115. It's as swayed as an old nag. Is this normal?

Hi - I have the the clp 860 model- the plastic / bakelite black long rack on which all the keys rest on has chipped off and broken so the octave below middle C is all jammed. Any thoughts if this can be repaired or would it require the entire keyboard to be replaced- the paino shop guys are keen to sell me a new instrument so they told be its out dated scrap :((. THX- would appreciate any ideas
@SoulSoundAudio
@SoulSoundAudio 3 года назад
Hey Konika, thanks for the comment. If it's a plastic piece I would find a way to super glue it and see if that works. Take care when you do it the first time. Make sure you have glue on all the parts that touch and that you have it back together exactly right. If you glue it out of place it won't ever be right. It should give you much more use.

I just bought a ypp 50 yahama keyboard that has 4 keys all together laying down.......do you think they just need to be snapped back in....? TIA

I believe that board uses banks of keys. I'm not sure without taking a look at it if the ones in question are repairable for need replacing.
@kwixotic

You don't need an accelerator for that superglue?
@SoulSoundAudio
@SoulSoundAudio 5 лет назад
I didn't use any kind of accelerator. Super glue sets pretty quick. I usually give it a couple minutes but I've put it right back in after about 20 seconds before and had it work fine. It's worth giving it minute or two before you put it back in.
@kwixotic

@@SoulSoundAudio Is it liquid super glue or more solid? I ask because as a piano tech I use the liquid to correct loose tuning pins.
@SoulSoundAudio
@SoulSoundAudio 5 лет назад
@@kwixotic This is a gel type but liquid works is just fine too.

@SoulSoundAudio
@SoulSoundAudio 4 года назад
Hey Chevonne, thanks for the comment. The MO series boards are a bit different. They have octave sets of keys. They are not bad to replace. A lot of screws to get in though. Also usually they just need to be replaced due to how they break. Eb's and Bb's are the usually suspects. The black key sets are getting harder to buy. Good luck!

@@SoulSoundAudio No problem. I'm just grateful you went to the trouble to post this. Thanks for doing it. I think mine is probably a different model. Besides, I'm not as confident as you seem to be about doing this. Good to watch, though. At least it teaches me that I'm too butter fingers to attempt it.

@@JosephJoJoFlores Hey, sorry you are having trouble. Great job getting this far! The trick is to hook the front in first. Hold it angled about 45º with the front down. Move the key in, away from you to hook the catch that is facing you, then push the back end down carefully.
