If you connect your monitor to your PC and the displayport is not working or shows no signal, but your HDMI port works fine. this could be happening because your GPU drivers are outdated or corrupt, or because there are issues with your cables or ports. So in this tutorial you'll learn three solutions so you can use your displayport connection again.

If you're like me and keep your drivers updated and so forth, these solutions won't help. Try this instead: unplug the power cable from your monitor for about a minute. Then plug in again and reboot. There's some sort of monitor memory reset that happens, perhaps not unlike removing your CMOS battery on the motherboard to correct problems (like a bad BIOS update).

This worked for me but only for a while. It's not a memory issue but the way my Nvidia GPU loads it's hardware. My issue totally resolved by doing the following go to Power Settings - Choose what the power buttons do - Turn OFF fast start up. My PC now boots straight onto the Display Port monitor instead of the HDMI then switch over as before or just get no display at all.

Unplug the monitor's power cable, wait a couple of minutes, and plug it back in!! Extremely strange but worked for me!!

Oh my God, thank you so much! Only the HDMI was working after the night in sleep mode. My PC did a Windows update during this time. After that, the DisplayPort (DP) was broken. Uninstalling the update didn’t help. I didn’t think replugging the monitor would do the trick, but it did. It’s probably because I never turn off the PC or the monitor.

I'm getting an error message using my DP port stating, "An error occurred with the device connected to the smart monitor" I'm using a new Samsung NEO G9 49" and Zotec 4090. I also tried all three of my DP ports on my video card but to no avail, and I also tried unplugging the pwr cable from the monitor, with no change. My HDMI port on the monitor is screwed up and I can't plug in my HDMI cable, so I'm stuck and looking for any advice.

Thank you! After a windows update my displayport stopped working. After going to Intel for updated core i7 drivers with Intel graphics, the display port came right back on.

I had the same issue a few days ago, but in my case, even the HDMI port was not working. I tried everything, but nothing worked. Then I removed my RAM sticks and put them back in, and boom, my problem was solved.

My second monitor stopped working connected to display port. I didnt change anything with my settings but for some reason the input source settings on my monitor was switched to usb C so I change it to DP and then it worked. Maybe some of you have the same issue. Hope this helps.

@@Keystone762 there are buttons on your monitor that allows you to change the input source. I am using dell monitors its located at the bottom.

A minha RTX2060 ASUS parou de dar vídeo no display port depois de atualizar baixando o driver no site oficial da Nvidia. Vamos ver com o Geforce Experience se dá certo. Por enquanto estou usando apenas no HDMI.

Try to put all displayport cabels into your GPU slots and not one into your motherboard. Worked for me!

It’s weird because when I’m using 2 monitors I can get my display port monitor working by reinstalling my GeForce drivers and by replugging the DisplayPort in. But when I have one monitor the display port doesn’t work at all.

Try unplugging the power cable from your monitor for about a minute. Then plug the power cable back in and try again.

Did you find a fix? I'm on amd ryzen 5600x with an rtx 3060. I've done drivers for gpu, and display, uninstalled, re-installed, updated, rolled back. My display port still doesn't post a signal. Hdmi is only one that works from my gpu. I've used a new cable and the audio still comes through the display port to the monitor despite saying "no signal" for input. I have 3 display port slots, none post a signal.

Nvidia users (especially 2070 users apparently) My issue totally resolved by doing the following go to Power Settings - Choose what the power buttons do - Turn OFF fast start up. Have 2 monitors one 144hz (display port) the other 60hz (HDMI). Had repeated issues with no signal on start up, tried the unplug and wait fix which worked for a while but now all good.

I have a 3080 extreme wb on my pc. The problem is usually my monitor works just perfect but sometimes I get the no signal even when using the pc. Its connected with displayport. I now turned off the fast startup setting... Really hope this fixes the issue. I mean mostly it works good but sometimes I suddenly might get the no signal message

@@oikkuoikanen5881 Hope it works for you I haven't had this issue since. The only other thing I do is I power off my monitor after shutdown as this also used to help. Power off monitor and turn off Fast start and all is well with me finally. Good luck!!

Try using HDMI cable first and waiting a few seconds. Worked for me, and then after my nvidia update, my DisplayPort started working

@@le0redd104 It suck because you have to use the Display Port to use G-sync. Keep getting a black screen every once and awhile, I also got new DP cables, still the same thing. So it's either my monitor internally or the drivers or anything else... I just got annoyed with it and now I'm using HDMI cables, went to Nvidia control panel, vertical sync --> Adaptive seems to work.

I upgrade drivers. Clean install. Many times. Take out gpu install back. Upgrade gpu fans. Take out the cords no help. Get quality cord pc to display no help. Finally what fix problem was I change display. No problem anymore. And that display what was a problem worked 100% fine in other computer. I use years first with out problems first. One game started it all after game get update. Then it come much more bad after one new game install.. Really a WTF thing. But works now finally.

Hi All . 6800xt asus tuff card here . Suddenly after a restart soon as win11 started to log in display disappeared over display port . Amd drivers rolled bac as win 11 updates too , no luck display issue over dispayport was the same . Uninstalling amd drivers again then older with drivers no luck , same thing . Then all drivers up to date , nothing same thing . Then disconnected the monitor power cord till I swapped the rams around and abracadabra all works fine . I spent probably 3 hrs to fokk around I really hope it helps ✌. Forgot the hdcp is on in display settings in adrenalin.
