How to fix DirectX Error Crashing FIFA 23 On PC (FIFA 23 Is Shutting Down)
In this video, I will be showing you how to fix the FIFA 23 DirectX error on your Windows 10 /11 PC or laptop, which you may notice is happening after opening a pack. If you launch the game then you may have the DirectX error in FIFA 23 pop up and crash your game back to the desktop. You will get a message saying "FIFA 23 is shutting down" and a DirectX error that says "DirectX funtion "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing". Don't panic as this can be easily fixed, which I show you how to do in this video.

I fixed it. If you're running an Nvidia GPU then got to the Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3d Settings > Program Setting and use the drop down bar to select Fifa 23. Now in the setting scroll down and find Automatic Display Switching. It's either set to On or Use Global Settings. Make sure you set that to just Off and then hit Apply at the bottom and play Fifa 23

This happened to me multiple times and even during the draft match. I play all FPS and RPG games perfectly on my rig and only in FIFA23, this happens. It's hard for me to imagine a sports game that continued for many years and still has tons of flaws that make it unenjoyable. Shame on EA

@@CP-rl3yf have you found a fix for it? every single weekend I lose 2-3 matches of the WL because of this shit. Just cannot find a fix. Contacted the ea support and all of their steps were just a complete waste of time.

@@fernandosouza0308 I've tried a few things, including changing Nvdia GPU settings as other comments below, using borderless window display mode, lock frame rate at 60, visual quality at high (I'm using a 3080ti so you can adjust accordingly). After these I got much much less crashes. Good luck

FYI: It can also be caused by GSync being enabled on a monitor recognized as Generic Monitor PnP, update your monitor driver so you can enable GSync and stop crashing.

Oh this i will try! Have a monitor none G-sync and play with G-sync.. Lets try and see if this problem that have made me and 1000+ other players INSANE! Will test it now..

I'm going to try this because I am playing on a G Sync monitor with it enabled and in the device manager, it says the monitor is using generic drivers from 2008 lol

Try to restart your computer and then open the game quick as possible. DON'T open anything else before you're in the game.

I had the same issue with fifa 22 on my old pc, I now have a 3080 and a top tier cpu and I still get this fucking bug ...

just open your NVIDIA Control Panel. Mouse over the "Help" tab at the top. You should see a dropdown list popup. You should see "Debug Mode" in that list. Turn it on and hopefully that should solve the game Freezing Errors. What this does is it automatically sets your GPU(s) to the base clock speed if you have factory overclocked cards

I fixed it by under clocking my GPU by -100mhz. I read somewhere some games don't like rtx4000 series boost clock causing crashes.

i saw a video someone said open your nvidia control panel ,program settings ,choose fifa 23 then set Vertical sync to On and max fps to 65-75 and turn off discord hardware acceleration (there are 2 one in voice and video settings and one in advanced settings)
