Ok, so maybe in the next video... you can actually show how to FIX the problem? Because I know how to set my reservoir in place. AND I know how to clean it up. The issue is, IT LEAKS ALL OVER MY COUNTER.
Just putting this out there... this video is from Sept. 2016. We just bought a brand new Ninja CP307 in Nov. 2021. Only five months later, in April 2022, the reservoir leaks like crazy. Excellent job, Ninja. Give your development team a raise! We're trying the hose washer fix. I just ran a quick cycle and it didn't leak. We'll see how it holds up over time.
Your problem was buying the cheapest oldest version. Newer models of their makers have come out and are far superior. I am very glad I got CM401 for the office and my girlfriend got CM371 for cold brewing this year.
Can you point me to the fix? We used ours for about a month. Went on vacation, came back to flooding every time we try to use it! Super angry about this!
Here is what I ran into. "We" dropped the reservoir onto the floor after which it leaked prodigiously from the bottom. The plug assembly had broken out, but everything was surprisingly undamaged. There are three interconnected parts that control water flow at the bottom: a rubber or soft plastic gasket, a spring, and a clear, almost pawn-shaped, piece of plastic that serves as the plug. So that was step one for me, make sure I had found all the parts. The gasket stays inside the reservoir but can be pulled out with a pair of tweezers. (Go get 'em, you'll need them regardless.) With the "pawn" standing, fit the spring over the pawn and the gasket over the pawn's head. Easy. The trick now is to get the piece set back into place with the gasket >fully inside< the reservoir. To do this, I used the tweezers to fold the gasket down into an inverted U and angled the piece nearly into place. Then I tucked around the edges to keep it at the pawn's "neck" as I worked it through. It took a couple of tries, but it works fine now. From this, I would advise that what needs to be cleaned or adjusted in the case of persistent leaks are those three parts. The spring pushes the plug away from the outside bottom of the reservoir, which pulls the gasket down against the inside bottom so it does not leak. When you mount it up then the base pushes back against the plug, compressing the spring and loosening the seal at the gasket so that water can flow. Any leaking means one of these parts is not functioning properly, so I'd start by cleaning there.
Yeah no, it doesn't matter if you hear an audible click. It still leaks. The problem is that the rubber seal is too loose and flimsy, and there's nothing to ensure that the reservoir centers perfectly in the seal. So if the reservoir is placed on the unit, and isnt centered perfectly in the seal, it will leak. Also, if the reservoir is bumped, it will also begin to leak. They need to offer a better seal that fits the reservoir nozzle tighter.
Mine leaks from the bottom of the reservoir where the spring loaded valve is supposed to close it...spring valve gets stuck - thought Ninja was good stuff.. what a hunk of junk
FYI - I fixed mine by putting a rubber o-ring around the outside of the nipple on the bottom of the water reservoir, where it seats to the rubber gasket. Previous to the fix it would leak out any water in the reservoir pretty quickly, soaking the counter/floor (unless it the gasket had been dry for a while - then it would take a short while before leaking.) Guessing the rubber gasket is expanding after being submersed for so long, and doesn't make a tight seal. With the fix, so far so good. Filled the reservoir to the max fill line and it's holding steady after 48 hours.
Where did you buy the rubber o-ring and what size? We have been experiencing the same problem for quite some time now and at the point where I may just buy a new, different coffee maker.
@@stephaniecartwright9952 I already had an assortment from Harbor Freight and used one that fit snug around the nipple on the bottom of the reservoir. The kits are quite inexpensive (around $8), I'd order a kit in "397 Piece Metric O-Ring Assortment" or if the link will work: www.harborfreight.com/397-piece-metric-o-ring-assortment-67580.html I can try to see which actual size I used, but you may spend as much for 1 as the whole kit.
@@Deja7777 I just have to say thank you! I had the same problem and just stopped by my local harbor freight and picked up the SAE O-Ring kit. I picked out one from that kit that fit snug and it stopped the leaking! I also saw some other tips of people using a flatter washer from something like a garden hose but it seems that might be too much rubber and this O-Ring fits the application a little better. Thanks for the idea!!!
Oh. Well that’s concerning. I was gonna fix the coffee pot but since the fix is “well just pretend it doesn’t do it all the time” I think I’ll be getting a new brand.
Does anyone know how to clean the little plastic piece at the bottom of the water reservoir? It looks like it can be removed but I'm scared to force that I don't want to break it.
I have a CF091. The water reservoir is not designed to click so this video is incorrect for my model. The problem caused by the gasket in the base that is supposed to seal around the nipple on the bottom of the reservoir. Ninja needs to sell replacement seals because the seem to have a very short life. I'll try an o-ring as suggested by other people and see what if that will be a workaround for the leaky seal.
@@NinjaCoffeeBar I have an o-ring kit from Harbor Freight and one of the o-ring fits into the outside of the nipple on the water reservoir as suggested in an earlier post I have made 2 pots of coffee without leaks so I believe the problem is solved. Replacing the water reservoir probably will not solve the problem because the leak is due to the seal in the base. A o-ring on the reservoir is a workaround.
I hate this machine! Expensive! Leaks, hot plate light stays on and hot plate doesn't even get hot! Beeps like it is out of water, doesn't brew full cup or pot! Would NOT recommend to anyone! EVER! DISAPPOINTED IN SOFIA VELGARA FOR PROMOTING THIS PRODUCT! 😡
My coffee bar does not have an 'audible click' when I mount the water reservoir. I have the CF091 series and this is the first time I was clued that there is supposed to be an 'audible click'. The reason I'm here is because my reservoir occasionally leaks and I don't know why.
Ninja Coffee Maker is a piece of 💩. I never know if I’ll wake up to a pot of coffee or a countertop flooded with water. Definitely not worth the $$$ for a roll of the dice.
For those who want to know how to REALLY fix the problem, buy a small gasket to put on the water fill container near the plunger. Dimensions are roughly 1" i.d. and 1.25" o.d. and 1/32" thick.
We bought a reconditioned unit that NEVER worked. It starts beeping as soon as it's plugged in. We've never even been able to run the initial clean cycle. Because we purchased it from Groupon and not a brick and mortar, support has told us they won't help. We're never buying another Ninja product, and we'll be strongly suggesting the same to friends and family.
there is water leaking from the bottom of my reservoir after i fill with water. It starts pouring out where it is meant to once it is connected to the base for it on coffee pot. I have cleaned everything and it still happens. I fear that because it continues to leak water that it will ruin the coffee pot since the water does not stop. How can I fix this or must I buy a new reservoir?
Ninja Coffee Bar Erm no. At 0:27 the black-grey foam thing from the top down shot. I do not and did not get one of those with my NCB when I orignally ordered it. Is it a some type of accessory?
Scheefinator it's not foam, it's just the studio lights making the matte black plastic base appear differently. There is no insert. If any water drops are in there just wipe it out as shown.
Yes it does! Poor design...after a few months of use, the base starts leaking from the valve insertion point. It does NOT matter if full, half full OR even quarter full. Poor service legendary from this company. Will NOT buy their product ever again...sad I gave these to friends and family last year as gifts.
We've had ours for just over a year or so, and now it leaks out of the neck where the water feeds into the coffee grounds when you brew. No idea how to fix that
I just took mine out of the box and started the prime. It is already leaking - even with the click. I should of read these reviews before purchasing. I have read about all the fixes from everyone and that is bull* with a new product. It is going back in the box and returned. Should of known better with the Ninja. Had a lot of problems with their blender that I got rid of and replaced with a Blendtec. Done with Ninja.
@@patrickheneghan1228 Called Ninja and they wanted to sell me a repair kit for like $29 plus $19 s&h. I just bought they thing I wasnt going to pay to fix a defective unit. So i returned it to Costco no questions asked. I LOVE COSTCO!!
Ya this is irritating! I just bought our Ninja CM401 Specialty 10-Cup Coffee Maker less than 6 months ago and it leaks from the bottom of the water reservoir. I should have read reviews before spending a good chunk of money on this product! Now I’m looking for a new coffee pot, we will not be purchasing another Ninja product
