I’ll give this a try tomorrow. My connector broke off while I was taking my ps4 pro apart from replace the thermal plate and clean out the heat sink. Was an easy process for a first shot but that connector broke off as well as the pads off the motherboard. I hope I can fix it. I’ve had a reasonable amount of soldering experience
I just had this same issue right now. I’m fucking pissed. I have no soldering experience and I just pulled off the entire cable like in this video. But I have 4/4 of the little silver teeth are on the board still.
You said just grab some regular solder and you show kester 44 rosin core and I type that in and there is a bunch of different kinds!!! You didn’t show us!! It’s important to know what exactly I need to get.. I can’t guess and I don’t know which is supposed to be regular solder!?
FIXED! Nice Video, I followed this tutorial which helped so much. I also had some experience with soldering from a highschool elective which came in clutch haha.
Dam it must be nice! Im having hell! I bought the solder that he had listed but the stuff that came in the mail is super super thin compared to what he is using in the video… any help?? I would appreciate it!!
There’s one article online that gives you improper directions and that’s what happened to me being my first time in my ps4 console devastated but luckily there’s some for cheap near me, gonna try to fix it with this method
The connector piece to the motherboard got stuck, won’t barely budge. what happens when the part becomes too hard to remove? What should I do, When trying not to break it off completely?😬
I just done this to my ps4 while trying to clean it ended up pulling it a lil to much and pulled it off exactly this like this except I still have silver bits on the bottom one,the one above and the very top one but I have a bit of the green stuff pulled off under bottom like in video but it goes all the way to the edge where the metal casing is and a little bit pulled off basically above the same as top connector, how easy would this be? Haven’t soldered in like 7 years so idk😅
Please answer, What Guage and type of copper wire do I need for the Traces?? Mine were completely ripped off and what temp for Solder Iron in farenheit please
I think the brush you're talking about is a fibreglass pen. I've tried it also but it's just way easier to scrape with a scalpel or a flathead screwdriver to expose copper.
Is there a special kind of wire to use?? The amazon has some wire that is tin that is recommended bought together but im not sure if I need special wire or special gage??
Also im buying the soldering tool you recommended in the description but the wire you have in there is a big ass role lol I just want to buy a little $10 roll but need to know what exactly to buy? Tin? Silver?? Some kind of special gage of wire???
He doesn’t show us the temps to use on the gun also I bought the solder he had in the description with his link to Amazon and the stuff I got is WAY WAY THINNER the the one he is using in this video.. this project is breaking me down man.. I’ve bought so much stuff and now I noticed this!! 😩😩😩😩 ive bought thermal paste ive bought soldering iron I’ve bought solder that apparently isn’t the one he is using in this video! I’ve bought the tweezers he is using I’ve bought the electromagnetic statice brushes ive bought the 8341 no clean flux paste I’ve bought the soldering iron tip set! Cuz the one it comes with is like way too blunt! I’ve bought the micro screw driver set! And also I’ve noticed that I think I’ve scratched the mother board too deep! 😩😩😩 dam it all to hell!!! Im easily $150 into this fix job and now I guess I have to but some more solder shown in video but not listed in description!?
