Holy shit James...thank you. Since my husband's passing last January 2020 - EVRRYTHING seems to be breaking or stop working. When I walked into my office and noticed none of the cameras were on...unplugged and replugged everything, still didn't work. Called for help, they said had to buy new system. I told myself to check RU-vid and I found you...thank you thank you thank you for posting - IT'S BACK ONLINE & WORKING!!! I too had a DC adapter lying around (I never throw away power cords lol).
James Davis thank you for this video. When my recorder stopped working and I was looking for a replacement I found your video and followed your advice. I bought a replacement power cord and it worked saving my wife and I the expense of a new recorder. Thank you.
Great video, I would have never guessed it was that but I did notice that none of the eight cameras were getting power because the infrared lights weren't coming on. As soon as I seen this video I realized that is what it had to be, I ordered the part on Amazon and it worked. Thanks for taking the time to create the video.
Thank you so much!!!! I looked thru my house and found a power cord that was with a box of others i had just collecting dust and it worked! You really did help me. Thank you so much!
I have the exact system.. working one day and not the next, metered the power box on 12v side, one minute it shows 12.1 volts then nothing works then it doesnt, mind boggling!! i'm hoping it's the power supply thanks man
Our Samsung SDR-B3300 DVR started acting up one day. At first, the error it gave was that a hard drive was not detected. Based on this error, I figured that the hard drive (3.5-inch Western Digital Purple / 1GB SATA) had failed. I purchased a replacement 2TB Surveillance hard drive and installed it. To my surprise, the unit now wouldn’t boot! (The power supply cable still had a light and the DVR had lights as well.) After watching a couple of videos online, I was convinced that the power supply cable was bad. I picked up a replacement on Amazon. (This resolved my DVR issue.) (NOTE: I’m not sure if the hard drive was actually bad, since the failed power supply was no longer providing enough power. Since I had already replaced the hard drive, I left it alone.
I have a Samsung 400. It’s a 2012 model but worked fine then when i moved the dvr to different location in my house all sudden it shows on camera in the camera 1 spot not any other spots. Help please
Switch around the cameras and put them in different slots the one camera that is working put it in a different slot and see if it Powers up hopefully you do not have a bad channel on the DVR
Your hardrive went out need a new one.. also the Hardrives sometimes makes the unit not turn on at all when that happens just remove the hardrive and the unit will power but it will ask for a hardrive
any idea how to reset the password or factory reset this device? I don't have the remote nor do I see any factory reset button on this device. google hasn't been helpful
Don't know how I got here lol.. But Hey maybe I was sent to save you some future head ache... Your DVR is setup and needs a 3amp 12v Power supply not your whole camera system... While it is nice to be able to try and go cheap on the Power your Cameras lucky are very low AMP draw.. However with all that you have going on 4 cameras and your DVR your DVR alone wants that 3 amps for system to run stable.. IF you leave it running as most people do with security systems 24/7 that Power supply is getting Over Taxed and will again die before it should just because it is over working... Your system aka HDD runs full time full spin all day and all night then your cameras at day time no big issue but at night when the IR comes on takes another big hit and I am going to guess if you were to go in at night after the system has been in Night mode for a few hours and touch that supply I am going to guess it could Fry an Egg...
