Nothing worked for me, but I noticed when using headphones that my phone screen would let me shut it off. So I took and old aux cord, cut the end off to as short of a stub as I could get it, and plugged it in. It let's me shut my screen off. Hopefully it works for others too.

Has nothing to do with settings or software, don't follow this dillweed and change your settings or God forbid reset to factory settings..... CONTACT CLEANER.....that's what you need to buy, a big spray paint size can of "CONTACT CLEANER... Make sure it has the little extension tube like WD40... Then turn off your phone and use the CONTACT CLEANER to spray out your charging port for a good 15 seconds, wait 30 seconds and spray it again from every angle. It evaporates very quickly. Then spray it twice more. Let it dry for 5 mins and restart. Problem solved, dirty sweaty, wet charging port.

*Restarting the phone* seems like the only solution for me. Victor doesn't know what he's doing - USB debugging does *NOTHING* to fix the issue and I already had *Charging only* set in the past. Seems like he just picked those two to pad out the runtime of the video by an extra minute or so.

This stops the fast charging option. It goes back to cable charging and takes ages to charge the device.

An update for people with Samsung devices where this issue still occurs, Samsung is fazing this ability out. It’s not something you can work around, it’s not something you can go find and turn on without rooting. Not only does my device still do it, it’s actually even faster to change now, and forces my notification tray closed every time I try to bring it down This is the opposite of a fix

I have a problem please,, well i click on the only charging phone option , when i restart the phone, the notification is gone for like 7 mins , so when i repeat the same steps i find it clickend on usb debugging and not only charging phone option. What should i do please.

The actual reason for this is shortage in the charging pin or the cc board connected to charging pin due to water. And the solution mentioned above is just temporary (you can't use pendrive and etc other then just charging) please contact local service shop and do the services required

i have usb type C, before upgrading to the new OS its normal and i can use this flashdisk on my phone, but after upgrading to new OS i can't connect to this fd. they say i couldn't switch to device just controlled by connected device. how can i fix this? i cant put my fd to this phone again

Is it a software bugs or usb connector problem?

Reset the USB port settings. To do this: access Settings / Applications and activate Show system applications. Search for the USB Settings app and in storage, clear cache and data. Restart the phone and check.

Alright so this did work and the USB notification didn't show up but my phone didn't charge i checked the charger and the charging hole and everything was fine I also changed charger and it didn't charge it only charged when my phone was turned off so i took my phone to mobile service they told me that water got in the charging hole so now they have to fix it :/

Found a fix for it thats working no bs.... no.dev mode bs or debug will make video for it ... or sub for fix.. took me 12 hrs i almost replace my charging port ... one solution i had was to cut an old cable end and leave it in port... but iv fix it..
