This had the completely opposite reaction for me. It made the sound come out speaker all the time. I have this problem when using a splitter that both charges my phone and allows audio through the headset. Android auto cable is a splitter and I am now having problems with it as well. Samsung told me to call my phone insurance.

if you have a problem with the headphones not working on samsung device this is the solution go to apps ▶️special access ▶️obtimize battery▶️ usage ▶️ all ▶️ USBSettings ▶️ turn it off. If it didnt work turn USB-C headset off as well

Same problem with my note 10 plus, checked in developer mode, in the media section the "disable usb audio routing" option is already off. Any other solutions??

How about phone calls? I have huawei p40pro, and same akg headphones, you can listen to music alright, but can't make phone calls, the phone call goes to the phone speaker then. I've used different brand usb c headphones and never had this issue.

There is a sensor that detects when the earphones are connected. I have no idea if it's hardware or software related. This did not work.

Hey...i have the same problem but whenever i plug in my headphones it says charging via usb. And my headphones logo doesnt appear on top. Also the option is already disabled when i go to developer options. What should i do?

I just updated my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE's software and my off-brand usb headphones and off-brand dongle both stopped working immediately after. I then purchased a Samsung usb to 3.5mm adapter with DAC chip and no luck. I followed steps in video and sound still only plays via speaker. How do I fix this? It's driving me nuts.

That's developer options you have to: Go into settings Scroll to the bottom click on about phone Software information Build number and tap on it multiple times till is says devepersions are enabled

I started having this issue with my s20 5G with factory headphones. When I connect the headphones, the phones detects the headphones but sound doesn't come from headphones and not from the speakers either. Checked everything but couldn't figure out what caused it.

Hi this happened in my Samsung note 10 plus but 'developer option' is not available as such. For that go to setting - About phone- software information- Build Number and touch seven times window will pop up will ask for IPIN of phone - just after that you will get message 'Developer option is actuvated' Now agai go back to setting you will find developer option at bottom. Now follow the steps as mentioned in this video. Once problem is resolved. Touch 'developer option ' window will open now switch off the button and go back developer option will vanish and phone will come in original state. This feature is for sfty of software only.

My settings are already set to this but I still have to put loudspeaker on to hear a caller. Even whacking call volume up to the maximum whilst on a call does not work...to hear someone I still have to tap speaker to be able to hear them. Annoying!
