This method slightly increases the water pressure. These regulators have gone to embarrassing levels where the shower can hardly function correctly, ESPECIALLY if you have low water pressure. No I don’t want to waste water supply. It’s not a one size fits all fitting.

@@JJZBULLITT109 I took and added another pipe for a shower head and made it about shoulder height and it doesn't have a head on it ,that solid ½ pipe pressure is great on the back muscles. And you can rinse quicker with it too. In my state you would need a whole family using water like me in order to even get close to the 10000 gallon area. Water pretty cheap here
Yesterday, I was stumped by the lower water pressure in my new showerhead, but thanks to this helpful video, I’ve finally found a solution. Time to grab the toolbox from the garage and give it a try…even though it’s 1am and I was in bed 😅
That's not true. You have to hold on to both ends of the cable to allow the current to pass into the house. How could you not tell them that? EDIT: The tingling will pass.
For all you folk worried about water waste: If you got an adjustable shower head: wet yerself down with medium pressure, turn the thing down while ya scrub, then blast yerself off quick-like with the good pressure so no soapy residue. Water usage should be about the same. ✌️
I completely took apart my handheld shower head trying to figure out what is going on with the low water pressure. It was fine at first but started to get lower and lower which has become annoying. I’m about to put it back together without the water restrictor and see what happens.
If you live in an apartment that has exceptionally poor water pressure this might be a solution. Yeah you’re wasting more water but you are also paying for more water use. So if you’re willing to pay for it why not!
@@ProjectfullCurcit I don't think it's just if you're paying for it. it's also water being wasted, it doesn't just matter if you pay for it, it's about it getting polluted and re-used in rivers, lakes and etc. if not reused then all that water is dumped into the ocean
@@teaaafs the EPA has strict guidelines on water treatment and every city has treatment plants that make sure the water is clean enough to enter back into nature. Stop acting like removing the flow restrictions will increase pollution. It only increases your water bill.
@@niallwilliams5113 more Water is being used and some people have to pay for their water such as those who live in cities or suburban areas people like me who live in the middle of bum fuck nowhere have a well only two bills I have to pay are electricity and gas and it's not even like City gas I just have a huge ass propane tank outside my house it gets filled like every 6 months
@@gnomewarlord8962 we used to have a well but when the city was running a new water system my parents and all the other home owners had the chance to convert over with a low cost and it was similar to where I own my home now we pay for our water and garbage truck fees but it's a set cost so does not matter how much water we use can be expensive to drill a well
Wow all the illogical comments by people who are overly concerned about how you shower - yes, the flow restricted is required by the EPA in the hopes that it will reduce water consumption. However, the EPA provided no actual evidence that it would when this rule was promulgated. By increasing the water pressure you increase the gpm flow of the water, which increases the pressure, but can also allow you to reduce your time in the shower as each minute of use is now more effective. You may now actually decrease your overall water consumption as you now require less time to shower. Removing the flow restrictive may increase your usage by 1 gpm, which if offset by a reduction in shower time of 2 minutes now would save water.
This is pretty much mandatory at my house. Having a private well the water pressure here starts at half or less of anyone getting water from the city. Restricting that further means that I can't even effectively was the soap off my skin in the shower and end up itchy all day. These do have their uses and help save water but they are not needed in all places and can even waste water in cases like mine where I was spending 3 times as long in the shower rinsing off before removing the this.
Why not remove the Shower head entirely!? That way you get an even bigger waterflow and that way you can waste even more water! You DIY tubers sure are some special kind of special...

With the same volume of media - pressure increases, flow decreases and vice versa. I could be completely mistaken lol but I’m almost positive this is it.
It is a big difference. I do this every time I put in a shower. At my last house, I had to remove all the restricted in the facets too, because the low flow caused my tankless water heater to overheat.
Hopefully you reply lol so my shower head has a button that you can change to hard spray n medium n regular. But now the regular one doesn’t come out n only the hard one does. How can I fix? Thanks
I stayed in a cabin in a caravan park once and the shower was a dribble my dad opened the shower head to see a one cent coin with a tiny hole in it stopping the flow.
y'all pay for water? glad I have a well. im sure the pump running a few more seconds is gonna kill me. BTW, I remove all of those restrictors the second I buy a shower head
Unless you live in a dry climate like southern California I honestly wouldn’t worry about water waste and if your really that worried about it turn your shower off when you soap yourself up then turn it back on to rinse yourself off. It’s not worth having all these special filters on to save water it just makes showering less enjoyable.
Hate low flow shower heads. I always remove the restrictors from any shower head I get. I'd prefer my shower done in ten minutes with high water pressure than a twenty minute one with crap water pressure. At the end of the day, low flow doesn't conserve any water because you end up taking a longer shower and wasting more water.
I tried what you suggested and it worked! Yay! The water pressure was low and was frustrating when showering because it took longer to shower - meant more water wasted. Thank you! This video was very helpful! 🙌🏻
Yes just what people in the deserts of America need. When lake Mead no longer has water in it then y'all won't have electricity for anything. Keep that mind... The mighty Colorado powers a large part of all of the west coast.
I just did this to my shower head in my apartment... during peak times in the apartment complex the pressure isnt enough.... now it'll be enough pressure when everyone else is using water I the building
By code the factory that produced all kinds of plumbing products bathroom faucet kitchen faucet showers are well regulated to save water in our home Even in a new constitution in the final inspection the inspector will check the water pressure in the entire house.
Isn’t this not allowed? Like doesn’t the state restrict how much water you technically allowed to have come out of your shower? Idk if I’m wrong or not but I heard that somewhere
The shower head will trip for long periods off time as the air seeps in water trapped in the head seeps out. Very annoying, and you will get a call back
