Fix: Voice To Text Not Working iPhone! [Mic Icon Missing] 

I have an even more weird problem. When I try to text, I get a muted mic icon, mic is fine, somehow the mic is muted. Dictation and all the other solutions are fine...it just give me a mic icon with an "x" ..does not toggle off..

I'm 70 years old and my iPhone can too often give me headaches. This tutorial solved my problem in less than one minute. Thanks!

Being new to iPhone from android, this video is great up until the end. When you talk about checking the microphone, you fail to go back out to settings and show the path to get to the voice recordings! I can't find that and, as a result, will have to take my phone in to the store. My problem is that when I tap on the microphone to do voice dictation, a microphone icon shows up with an X. My phone originally was able to do this, but not anymore. I must have, inadvertently, hit a settings button without knowing it would eliminate the microphone!

Yeah didn’t work I switch from Samsung to apple and it’s crazy how many little settings I got to fix to make the phone more user friendly,, I feel like the average person and a engineer can appreciate the ui of samsung

I tried every step in your video. The talk to text stopped working 2 updates ago. I’ve spoken to apple twice now we tried everything you listed and a few things. My microphone works for google only. Not for talk to text or not for dictation of emails. In both of those when I click on the microphone it has a small x over the picture of the microphone and will not work. I have also done a soft and hard reset on the phone with the apple advisor. Any other suggestions? Thanks

If your button is gone they moved it to the option menu right on top of the keyboard

None of those worked but the voice memo worked and the new audio thing they have in messages works idk why it's not letting me do it through that way though that's very weird when I try to record the speech to text and I press the mic it shows just a loading icon and nothing happens

After following all the steps my stuff was not working. I found out that you might have to power down the device; that worked for me.

Thanks that worked. I just found my earbuds are what’s causing the problem when I disconnect them. It works fine.

Mine allows me to be used, but I have very clear pronunciation and it often. Just totally seems like it makes up words that are nor. That was supposed to say, makes up words out of nowhere, but it proves my point

Ok, here's a thinker for you! I followed every step, it won't hear me on Mic dictation in messages or Siri, HOWEVER it recognises the mic for video and memo..what the flip!?

Please help me. The microphone input on Roblox keeps stopping.

My voice talk text does not work on English only on Spanish

What if your microphone works fine, but when you tap a microphone to do voice-to-text, (whether it’s the bottom right one or the one on your text message box where you type your message), it just won’t recognize my words and type them out! And Siri will acknowledge ‘Hey Siri’ but never responds to what I say beyond the initial greeting. I’m so frustrated and tired of literally typing EVERYTHING out 🤣. I’m old, I cant speed text like these youngins 😂. Any Suggestions? I’ll go ahead and list what I’ve done so far: 1: Force shutdown 2: Turned off and on 5,000 times “Enable Dictation” 🙄 3: Deleted and re-downloaded my keyboard at least 20 times. 4: Went in settings and did all the things, done, STILL won’t write out what I’m saying. Help please!!

The issue is still not resolved. I can search on Google/Amazon etc using voice, I can record voice notes, but ever since the recent update I can no longer use voice to text. I've tried it on my husband's phone and it works just fine, mine stopped working entirely

It isn’t only the IMS issue. It’s also the bore scoring… It’s a real problem. Ask mechanics.
