Hello! In today's video we are fixing Warzone 2's terrible 1% lows and potentially even stutters!

great tip. capping my FPS to 125 (since its reasonable with my 5600X + 5700XT setup) and my 1% lows now hover around the same FPS and the game feels much smoother overall. now I don't feel to frame chase as much anymore. I even cranked up the resolution scaling to 110 to increase visual fidelity but don't feel frames drop too much

It's insane how this actually works. It works for Ashika too tbf. 5800X3D/3070 and my lows were at a 100fps. Set the limit to 150 and my lows shot to 150 immediately 🤯

I mainly play multiplayer and a bit of DMZ. I’ve got a 180hz monitor. I set it to 170 cap ages ago. In multiplayer my 1% lows are only 20 frames less at 150. It helps system latency as well.

I've been getting terrible 1% lows in Fortnite on my 4090 with 7950X3D. Just did a full windows wipe last night and installed process lasso to help force appplications to certain CCDs. I will give this a shot and see how it does. Thank you!

hi i have ryzen 5 7600x with rx 7900 gre i get great fps and no stutters in the small maps but whenever i load into urzikstan (big map), my game stutters hella crZy litteraly unplayable, do u have any idea why?

Beefy, is this monitor dependent, or is this framerate dependent? IE, should I be looking for my average framerate and set it at that, or should i be taking my monitor refresh rate? I've got a 42 inch 4k Monitor, and I play at 4k, but I only have 144hz. So should I be setting at 144, or can I just set it at a framerate. I can get similar frames as you, as I have 4090 and a 7950x3d with tune cl28 6200mhz ddr5 ram.

Framerate dependant by the looks of it. I don't honestly know if setting it above monitor hz cap will impact anything because my monitors refresh rate is so high I couldn't test that before leaving for the day, but I'll get back to you and let you know.

@@Beefy-Tech try driver 528.49 with MSI mode, the 1% definitely better and even average i think. But keep in mind I haven't tested the game in a week so maybe hActivision has improved it. Tried two games with this old driver and the 1% you can clearly see it better then the new drivers Which driver you using now?

I stopped messing around with FPS and stopped caring once I just turned on Vsync, Gsync, NULL, 158FPS cap in NVCP. It's fun to overclock but jesus life is easier when you stop caring and just play games. Latency is optimized and it's hard to tell a difference vs uncapped and you save some power.

Tbh, this fix within the game hasn't helped me particularly. My frametime line is perfectly smooth in warzone Al Mazrah 99.9% of the time, meaning I had no stutters or jitters outside of the servers themselves lagging. Meaning running capped vs uncapped makes basically no difference once you are way above 200 fps and frametime line is smooth... at least not a difference a casual gamer would ever notice xD

How do you get "Low 1% fps" to update regularly? I got mine to be visible but it seem like i have to press "begin recording" in the benchmarktab repetedly for it to update?

Go to monitoring and select the update time, set it to 2000MS, and set a begin recording, and end recording hotkey. If you keep having issues with it, uninstall both apps and attempt to re-apply settings, sometimes the app can bug out.

@Beefy Tech Thanks for the quick answer. I have hotkeys for it already and I changed to 2000ms now but it seems to just go slow anyway. I'm trying to get something working with the stuttering in Hunt Showdown but with a 11700kf and a 3080 card I only get a stable fps at around 120 so capping it around 80fps to get rid of stuttering feels like it doesn't matter then 😢 I guess Hunt is really badly optimized...

So, I've tried this. And it can help in some games. But for instance, in Rage 2, I can get 120 FPS no matter what. Even if I limit the FPS down to 60, I still get stutters. Starfield at 30 FPS, still stutters. I don't know if there is something wrong with my system, but for years I've been plagued with horrible 0.1% Lows. I currently have a i7 9700K, 32GBs /DDR4 at 3600 MHz, and a RX 7900 XT. I will be upgrading to a 7800X3D and 32GBs/DDR5 5600MHz in the next few days. So, I really hope this nullifies the issues.

Not even close actually, this spot was worse then most, I get 300 consistently on the railways for example, and 240-270 in most towns. You should be able to find a couple spots in my earlier tests of the month. Al Mazrah gets between 230 - 310 depending on the areas and how terrible the server is.

It's mind blowing to me that you get that FPS. My setup is 4090 (not overclocked) with i9 13900k and I have not even close fps as yours. Maybe it's my windows 11?

The 13900K without massive overclocks tends to be slower within warzone, and by quiet a bit, but the 1% lows on 13900k are solid.

thanks for the tip, though did not fix it on my case. RivaTuner shows much better lows but in game I have stuttering, most noticeable when fighting, opening loot boxes. 7950x3d, 7900 xtx. b650-e, corsair 2x32GB

I need your help, when i'm streaming and playing i'm lucky to get 100fps. I have a 4090 ryzen 9 5900x 64gb of ram i know this shouldn't be the case

The 5900x isn't the best choice for this to be honest. 4090 is significantly overkill for it. If you are also streaming, your cpu is getting hit harder then usual too, resulting is poor performance overall. Only fix I can recommend is upgrading to a 12900k/13700k/13900k as those are easily the best streaming CPU's.

@@B1ggs_ yup, it's sadly an expensive fix, but given you spent so much on the 4090 it'd be a pity to not allow it to stretch its legs with a cpu upgrade! Just to clarify why I recommended intel for this instead of ryzen... intel doesn't suffer from the dual ccd latency penalty that ryzen cpu's above 8 cores suffer from. For example on the 7950x3d you can't game on primary ccd and have a stream running on frequency ccd because it'd make your games stutter due to the 2 ccd's having a big latency penalty when information has to travel between them. Intel will be slightly slower in Cod, but you can run a stream 10x more stable as you can use E cores to run stream with very little performance loss. Also, all ud need it motherboard + CPU if your cpu cooler has the Intel LGA1700 cpu bracket included, you can re-use your 64GB of ram.

@@winters4805 I was getting between 180 fps and up to 200 fps with a r7 5800x3d cpu and a 6800xt gpu paired with 16 gb at 3600 mhz (2x8gb ) and I was getting like 80 to 100 1% lows then I get 2x16 rams at 3600 mhz from G.Skill cl 14 and my 1% lows are better 130- 160 fps and I am still tweaking the ram in order to get the most out of my configuration

@@11d3x try to use studio drivers instead of game ready drivers. If you have an Nvidia gpu, search "Nvidia Studio Driver 531.61 desktop" and download the latest studio driver for your gpu.

You need to make sure you use the average FPS of an Al Mazrah game, not the benchmark results. If you have a 4070ti you most likely aren't reaching 190avg fps in al mazrah, try setting the limit lower by 10fps at a time. Once your 1% lows start improving, that's where the correct fps limit is. Only use riva tuner stats for this, don't use ingame limiter!

But only when i cap on 180-185 fps i can increase my 1% low and my average to 180 fps stable. Do you think it’s normal that i need to go that low ? From 245 to 180 ? Is it possible ?

@@davidrev2489 I tested this yesterday through a full game on the 7950X3D + 7900XTX. It was 327 average FPS with 200FPS exactly in the 1% lows on Ashika. Vodel is much worse then this, with averages sitting at 260ish with 160 1% lows.

Crazy how someone just found such a great performance trick. I am running between 160- 220 fps in Al Mazrah ranked. That would mean 160 frame cap. So I will be giving up a big chunk of my inconsistent frame rate for higher 1% low. Something to test it out for the weekend :p

It does help 1% lows, and it may indeed also help stutters. If you felt like the game was smooth before, it'll feel the same though.

i saw a video that showed how capping frames with RTTS over ingame cap (or using built in framecap in Nvidia control panel witch has similar behaviour) comes at a cost of increased input lag. Did you did some testing at this regard? Yes, it does hurt input lag mildly from my understanding. I'm pretty sure that hit to input lag is also what results in RTSS actually helping the 1% lows though as with Nvidia control panel and ingame caps it doesn't work🤔I have no equipment or method of testing input delay, and given the framerates I'm at are above 250 I can't honestly quantify an input lag difference, so I'm unsure personally of how much of an input lag increase it'd be.

@@Beefy-Tech yeah at your fps with 4090 i understand this is not a major concern and you rather take the benefit of improved 1% lows. In my specific case, with a 3080 and 5800x3d, i get around 125-170 fps (fully tuned stuff) so i'm a little more concerned in that regard. Also i was looking for the best way to framecap since i'm annoyed by tearing at 144hz , so i'm debating if using RTSS/NVCP/Ingame cap to fall into gsync territory. Think i'll do more testing myself to see what gives me the best "percived" results

@@alessandrosimoni8310 if you are having tearing issues, I just wanted to mention one easy fix you've probably already done, but maybe you missed it so thought I'd let you know. In warzine 2, below your resolution, you have to manually select your actual resolution sometimes. On my laptop I had it defaulted to 60hz in game, despite my laptop having a 240hz display, so it was tearing horribly.

I've since figured out that both perform the same, but windows 11 has HAGS on by default, and HAGS hurts performance significantly in warzone 2 if ON. If you disable HAGS, both windows 10 and 11 will perform the same

Because it's by default included with MSI Afterburner, you'd have to manually select to not download it if you were downloading the latest version of MSI afterburner. If you already have MSI without Rivatuner, simply re-installing MSI afterburner and ull get both apps

Lag? I haven't heard of it before if you could explain so I can understand it a bit better🤔 I'm aware that setting a limiter will increase input latency in some scenarios because you are getting less frames, but in theory it could also help input latency because it always has qued up frames, and latency will be more consistent. I've heard something about Riva tuner increasing controller input latency specifically but haven't confirmed that one either, and I haven't tested it myself.

It's not MSI afterburner for sure, it's most likely tied to warzone itself or a BIOS change like your XMP profile. I've had 3 crashes since the latest update a couple of days ago, so it's most likely warzone itself that's the issue.

@@wronczi is it just the act of downloading Afterburner that crashes the PC? Or do you have any changes made in Afterburner. If it's just downloading Afterburner, there's a chance that when you first installed it some settings bugged out, and when you uninstall, MSI afterburner remembers the settings and upon re-installing, it re-applies the settings you had before. The fix for this is making sure you click to delete all settings upon uninstalling after burner if it turns out to be the case.

Also helps them yes. 0.1% lows are generally bad if there's that odd stutter in the game, and this helps keep the game from stuttering.

@@Beefy-Tech ok! I tried this on battlefield and still my 0.1% lows are 100fps which is awful bc my 4090 and 13900k i can game easy 240fps at 1080p Did i do anything wrong? Cap to high fps?

Unfortunately this didn't work for me, still getting terrible 1% lows and it gets worse after every season update. Appreciate the effort!

Try setting your FPS 40 below your known averages, so significantly below averages, and then also make sure you only cap frames through Riva Tuner, no other app. If you are reaching the frame cap you are setting it should work unless through Riva, if it's still not working, it could be due to G Sync/Adaptive Sync being ON on your monitor. You could try disable that and see if it fixes the issue🤔 good luck fam

@@Beefy-Tech It worked! i just wasn't setting my fps cap low enough. Managed to cap at 120 with 1% lows also at 120. If i cap higher then my 1% lows drop to 80. Amazing tip mate, thank you so much. I was going mad trying to fix it.

limit fps in game is better than RTSS no ? Fps in game > nvidia panel = RTSS. I have seen benchmarks for input lag only. For the 1% low maybe is it the same thing? Watch the « battle(non)sense »channel, his video on input lag results between in-game fps limit vs rtss vs nvidia panel

It's not a know improvement for warzone 2 1% lows though😅 I'm pretty sure most people don't even know what Riva tuner is tbh, and Al Mazrah is the only culprit where this make a significant difference for 1% lows, making the video focus on a specific ingame issue rather then a broad spectrum of games where it may be known to some that it helps. For example I knew it helps latency to set a frame cap where frames que up, but I didn't know 1% lows would be directly affected by it.
