Fix Xbox App Not Opening/Starting Error Code 0x80070426 Try The Update Again Something Went Wrong On Windows 11/10 PC
Step 1) Repair/Reset Xbox app
Step 2) Uninstall & Reinstall Xbox app
Step 3) Update Xbox App from store library
Step 4) Uninstall Xbox App & Install It from Xbox Website

Step 5) Make sure date, time, time zone and region are correct
Step 6) Clear store cache Using wsreset command
Step 7) Update Windows 10/11
Step 8) Install Xbox identity provider and Gaming services

Uninstall remains of gaming service
get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
Install Gaming service:
start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
Step 9) Start all these services
IP Helper
Xbox Live Auth Manager
Xbox Live Game Save
Xbox Live Networking Service
Gaming services
Windows Update
Microsoft install service
Step 10) Run this powershell command
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
Step 11) Run inetcpl.cpl command
In Advanced Tab
Check Use TLS 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3
Step 12) Update Windows to the latest version using media creation tool

Thank you so much for this video! I too had the 0x80070426 error code when attempting to launch the Xbox app and absolutely NOTHING would fix it, including deleting/reinstalling Game Services, Xbox App, Microsoft Store, ect., along all the detailed techniques illustrated in this video EXCEPT the very last one. The only thing that worked for me was updating Windows to the latest version using the media creation tool. Following the steps in this video, I restored Windows 11 but chose to keep my apps and files during the process as specified in this video. That worked PERFECTLY and I did not lose any data, Windows settings or installed apps. Now Windows 11 functions as it should and I can launch the Xbox app without any problems. Again, this was the only procedure that managed to fix the problem for me personally. Again, THANK YOU for this video!

@@yxnnic__ update to window 11 pro, if you don't have it, if it happens to you on window 11 pro, there I don't know what's happening, but as I understand it it's because it is no longer available for window 10 (people are gradually discontinuing it)

@@yxnnic__ Certainly fixed everything for me, good luck. Also, I would like to drive my car across the lawn of the Microsoft programmer who designed the Xbox app updating protocol. In fact, I'd like to drive my car across the Microsoft programmer. Back and forth. Several times.

Like many others, step 1 - 11 didn't fix the problem. But now after step 12, reinstalling Windows 11, I can finally start the X-Box app. Fixing the X-Box app wasn't my initial problem, but I was hoping it will fix my actual problem. My problem was, that I can't connect my wireless X-Box controller to my PC. Long story short, now that my X-Box app works again, my controller connected flawlessly. Step 12 fixed both problems. I don't know if the problems were connected after all, but they are both fixed now. THANKS!

The last step where you had to reinstall/update windows via media creation was the one that fixed it. Thanks for the help and hope others see this that are having this issue.

The easiest solution is usually the one that works. I had to update windows using the media creation tool.

when I uninstalled and tried to reinstall from xbox website it will not download its gets stuck 1/4 of the way

This was exactly my problem as well! The Xbox app would never launch but would attempt to update itself, then the update would hang 1/4 through the update process. See my comment above about what finally fixed it for me.

Do a clean install of windows...just RU-vid a video on how to do a clean windows install without losing data...fixes the problem for me

@@Bigga_Velz85 Downloading the Windows Media update tool as described in this video will install the very latest version of Windows will all the current updates, however. The media tool updater will not touch ANY of your data and/or settings (if you select to keep your data), so you end up with an updated version of Windows but with all your settings and programs untouched.

I had this issue...all I did was do a clean install of windows...u don't want the one that's gonna wipe ur pc but u want the one that keeps your files apps n data...n it fixed my issue... RU-vid a video on how to do a clean install without losing data
