I recently started using Beauty of Joseon's Revive Eye Serum : Ginseng + Retinal (Korean beauty) I use it on my entire face. It's only $24USD/$20CAD 30ml. I use a bunch of their products; I'm in love with them, highly recommend-super affordable and everything is loaded with beautiful ingredients. My skin has never looked better (42 years old) 😊
I notice in the comments that a lot of us wonder about using these products you recommended on our upper eyelids and on the brow bone. I have very crepey skin on my eyes near the inner corner and I have little bumps on and near the brow bone. I have tried some eye creams in those areas, but experienced irritation from that. I’d love to see a video from you about this area. Thank you for your informative videos!
Absolutely loved this video! I want to share my experience with red light therapy for those curious. I started using a red light therapy panel from Future Form Official, which was actually recommended by my dermatologist. After incorporating it into my routine, I've noticed significant improvements in my skin complexion and a reduction in wrinkles. The panel is affordably priced, making it accessible for those of us mindful of budget. There are numerous scientific papers backing up the benefits of red light therapy, and I've seen firsthand how effective it can be. Thank you all for sharing such valuable insights here!
I just ordered Medik8 Ceramide eye 3 as per your recommendation. It is $89 here in Australia. I have been using StriVectin eye serum with peptide. I’m 47 and have only had one line under my eye for the past year. I use SPF daily, Tretinoin but not near my eyes as they water and sting if it’s too close so I do put it to the orbital bone which is where that fine line is. I use Timeless vit c serum, Niacidamide serum, Timeless Q10 daily.,
Doc, can you talk more about the prp procedure? I heard one of my customers telling her friend it was the best thing she ever did, she said she doesn’t even need to use concealer anymore! She looked so refreshed and vibrant.
Great video, thanks. My eyelid skin has more crepeness (spelling? ) than my under-eye area. Can I use any of the products you mentioned on my lids? Donna
I am a brand new viewer. I'm so excited I came across your videos. You are awesome. Your professional advice and expertise is greatly appreciated. Your explanations and examples are so easy to understand and very helpful. I'm 61 years old and trying to find skin care products or treatments have been so confusing for me. One question I have for now is...What do you think of the Zo skin products? I just recently purchased a starter package from my esthetician.
Wondering if vanicream vit c, since it’s gentle on my sensitive skin, is ok on eyelids. Then so swipe a bit of australian gold spf bb cream or nuetrogena tinted face spf on eyelid with no problem.
I've been using The Inkey List products that are very affordable and I have been noticing amazing improvments in my 52 year old skin! Very affordable products.
Elta MD UV Restore broad-spectrum SPF 40 does not irritate the eyes. It’s also a physical sunscreen, not a chemical sunscreen, for anyone concerned about endocrine disruptors. It’s a bit spendy, but worth it since it’s the only option that checks the above criteria (that I’ve been able to find!). I’m all ears if there is a dupe out there.
I looked at the Maelove peptide product, and while it seems to contain a lot of great ingredients, it also contains sodium benzoate, a preservative which can cause inflammation. It also can react with vitamin C to produce benzenes, which are carcinogenic (and vitamin C is a recommended skin care topical). I have fairly sensitive skin, yet I use prescription-strength tretinoin (0.025%) on my under-eye area, based on the recommendation of several other RU-vid derms, and have never had a problem. It seems to work just fine; my skin there doesn't get red or flakey. I've never had eye irritation either. Thanks for the video, it's all helpful.
Great point you make about Sodium Benzoate. It’s a preservative used in everything! Toothpaste, food, soap, household cleaning products. And, I am allergic to Sodiym Benzoate. Patch tests don’t lie!
I just got the DRMTLGY luminous eye corrector that you mentioned. I have sensitive skin and I’ve had no issues using this right up to my lash line. I don’t have very dark circles but I do have a little bit of blueness and it wipes that out no problem without any need for concealer over the top. It seems like a very well formulated product.
Have been massaging Castor Oil + almond oil (good quality- organic cold pressed) around the eye area every night before going to bed reduced my under eye puffiness and lightened my dark circles and mostly reduced lines around my eyes.. I am 60 btw 😊
Started SPF 50 under my eyes from about age 38 and now at age 58 have hardly any under eye lines. Also always wear sunglasses outside and while driving.😎
@@kellyross4801 try Nivea Sun shine control SPF 50 - only do it under my eyes haven’t tried my lids. I have very sensitive eyes. Also look for a mineral SPF.
Agree! I’ve been using Avene Eye Cream for quite a while with good results. I tolerate it quite well. If I change to Medik8 wonder what strength I should use - 3 or 6?
I’m surprised you didn’t recommend ROC’s eye cream with retinol? That brand is the OG of drugstore retinol products and well tested. I think I’ll try the Vanicream Vit C serum as my day serum and use a retinol eye cream at night. At 51, I need to preserve my skin as much as possible 😁
I have brought Medik8 for the night time under eye cream. Do I now use one of the other ones you mentioned for daytime ? What’s safe for daily use under eyes? I’m a little confused on what I can now use? Like to target ageing now I’m 40 years old. Thank you 🇬🇧
Thank you so much for a very knowledgeable blog. You mentioned you will give the link to purchase these items. I am unable to find those links. Can you please guide.
I have that in the corner of my eyes. The corners are purple. My esthetician said that when the skin is fair, things underneath can show. Like you were talking about in your demo.
Mine, too. Derm said it’s just because of fair and thin skin- no fix. So I apply a touch of powdered white eye shadow and it helps …better than a concealer for me.
LE here for 26yrs! Yes, you can! However, you need checklist before you buy! Castor Oil needs to be: Hexane Free, Organic, Cold Pressed, Glass bottle. CO, has tons of fatty acids- fantastic around eyes at night😉
Fabulous video! Thank you! I use the Medik8 eye cream and it is great! When would you suggest increasing the strength? I currently use it about 4 or 5 times a week. And im on my first tube. My skin is tolerating it well but should i buy the number 3 one more time before increasing or should i buy the number 6 once im done?
I am 50 with sensitive skin and my skin has loved vanicream vit c. Can I put this on my eye lids too? Many think I’m about 10 years younger and I contribute that to daily SPF since age 30.
Tried so many things. Eyes so sensitive that everything burns my eye area abd makes my eyes water and itch. I keep trying. 58 and really starting to see sun damage. Live in San Diego and grew up at the beach and DID NOT use much sunscreen. Bad on me. 😒
Pretty much most derm channels have said topical creams won't help. Something like a pulse dye laser would help shrink them. Vitamin K creams may help temporarily fade them. Several derm channels have videos on vit k eye creams.
My crepey under eyes (and eyelids) are caused by allergies and extreme blepheritis. No matter how many allergy pills I take, some mornings I wake up with eyes swollen like ping pong balls just because…Spring, or the Autumn alfalfa harvest. After a week or so the swelling usually goes down (although it once lasted for 3 months) and then I’m left with all this loose elephant skin around my eyes aging me by at least 10 years. I’ve been to a dermatologist who gave me some steroid cream, but although it helps with the swelling it does nothing for the aftermath. Will the tips in this video help with that?
I started using a led masks and have been pretty consistent. My skin always felt drier and more red after I used it. My dermatologist told me to lay off that for a bit. She also told me to stop using hyaluronic acid. I thought these two things were suppose to be good for your skin?
Hyaluronic Acid draws moisture from the air, but if the air is dry, it will also dry the skin out. It also depends on the weight being used. If it's a low molecular weight, it goes deeper and has the potential to dry the skin out even more. Have you tried using a good moisturizer over the Hyaluronic serum? Since it draws moisture from the air, I find a good moisturizer is best when using Hyaluronic, it helps to keep the skin from drying out. I hope this helps ❤
Another great video, but I think you forgot to include the link for the drmtlgy concealer--at least i could not find it! Will search for it...found! And a 25 o/o off sale going on now!
If you have sensitive, reactive skin or just want an even gentler retinal, I use the Medik8 Crystal Night under my eyes in Strength 1 which is 0.01. Their eye cream lowest strength is 0.03. I've researched so many different brands' retinals and Medik8 is the only one I've found that offers such a low strength of 0.01 created for those of us with sensitive skin.
Hmm how many studies do we have on the effects of peptides? Are they blinded and placebo controlled? I actually thought we had a bunch of small industry studies. Also... I can tolerate tret fine under my eyes (have been using it for four months now). However, given that tret may take up to a year to show a significant difference in terms of collagen production, i doubt one can call the retinoid solution 'fast'... Especially since prodrugs like retinol will take even longer to work...
Hi ☺️ What’s your most recent day and night time routines? Or are they listed in one of your videos. I have to go look. I definitely want to try the eye cream you recommended, probably the lowest retinal because I’m a beginner. I gotta on the roll here ☺️ thank you so much!!!
Which one should I use if my under eyes get more crinkly and undereye bags get worse when I use retinoic and/or just moisturizer. Idk if it can be migrating in the night and that’s causing the puffiness. The retinaldehyde I use is Avene eyes.
I tried the new DRMTLGY corrector with spf but it made my eyes itchy and red, watery so I had to take it off and stop using it 😢 what else can I use alternatively?
Terrible genetics for the under eyes. In 4th grade my class and teacher freaked out one day because they thought I’d been hit in the face. By college I was using industrial coverage concealer and my eyes were prematurely aged by at least 10 years. Now in my 40s I still have the circles, skin like Saran Wrap but with the added bonus of bags/puffiness. 😩 I feel like my only option at this point is blepharoplasty. But I keep trying with eye creams and other aesthetic treatments. Currently in the middle of a series of Tixel treatments. Thanks for this info!
If she doesn't make money from it she isn't going to recommend it. As per YTs terms she can't give out medical advice either. People think just because someone has a Dr. in front of their name that they can trust everything they say. She might give some helpful suggestions or info that is accurate but the whole point of an influencer is to influence you to buy products.
Would this Medik8 eye cream be the same as using Retin A gel mixed with my eye cream or is Medik8 Retinal eye cream superior for lines around the eyes?
Naturium brand has 3 strength retinaldehyde creams, I wonder about efficacy around the eyes? Les s expensive and more product. “This potent next-gen retinol visibly addresses the look of fine lines, uneven tone and texture. Added biofermented oligopeptide actively refines skin texture and enhances radiance for optimal results.” I’ve worked my way up their 3 strengths but haven’t been applying around my eyes out of fear of irritation but will try now
