1)exercising: extention movements make the pain better for alot of cases. same goes for rotation movements 2) slouching while sitting is bad. if you sit you can use a rolled towel for lumbar support 3) be aware of your standing posture 4)if a movement hurts, change your posture 5) go for some walks, on an even surface
I could barely walk after an injury. I lost weight & learned to stretch , exercise & protect my back. Ta-da! I could move again. I also keep a small pillow in my bag & in my car. People are jealous when they see me take it out to sit in restaurants lol. Ty for all ur great info.
I am an OT in Manchester UK. I cannot thankyou enough. My back ache is much better since I started doing the extension exercise. You both are doing a fantastic job
After I had spine surgery, my hips started to give problems, but since I started with you your exercises, it's getting better and even my back is getting stronger. Thanks a million. I'm even recommending you to people.
Your exercises really saved my back, at first I thought these were just old people exercises but now I do them every day and it's made a huge difference.
I have hip and lower back pain which is worse when getting out of bed and when sitting on my chair (it actually hurts to sit down especially my hip), what could be the problem ? Been noticing my bed is sinking and can only lie on for like 6 hours max so I cannot sleep a full night for weeks now cause it hurts my hip. Also When I sit up straight with my butt against the chair my hip hurts even more. I constantly have to stretch my hip and couldnt evenwalk right for a few hours. Is this a bed issue or bad posture?
Did you have any success with treatment? Thank you if you have the time to respond on here, I know it’s been a little while since this was posted. I hope you’re pain free
Bob and Brad your videos are great. I mean, i know this but sometimes a reminder is needed even for those who are sure that they know this. In my case I’m a female of African heritage, 50. Ive neglected a lot of core exercises in this Covid time but doing a lot of cardio. Literally 5 days ago I experienced this lower back pain for the first time in my life. I wasn’t even sure it was my back. Ive noticed when the pain is bad, and when it’s better. Back extensions are great for this. Thanks for the reminder 👍🏾
I used to use the Roman bench at the gym it helped strengthening but no longer going so I do back crunches I call them. Any pain I've had always alleviated with strengthening. With dumbbells and elastic bands I can do a lot at home during covid. A ab roller sitting around collecting dust now used almost daily. Beats cabin fever too.
My mom is 93 and bent over quite a bit... Is it possible for the spine to straighten at this point, and it does curve at the hips. We are working on the abs some. Thank You ❤️
THANK YOU!! I’ve been struggling with my lower back now for two months. The last 3 weeks seeing my Chiro weekly along with acupuncture. I started using these today. What a huge difference. It moved the pain from my hip to barely next to my spine! When the cramping returned this evening I did them again. Guys YOU ROCK!!!
I have had a l5 s1 spinal fusion and have serious pain in my sciatica sacaroil joint .....it been 5 years and still havnt ran into a good back doctor like these guys .....would love to see them in real life and have them diagnos my pain ...it is insane how consistent the pain is
Have you had a whole body bone scan? Once I did I was diagnosed with AS Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease or bamboo spine. I have had 3 surgeries since 2016 with my latest 5 months ago. Seeing an orthopedic doctor imo was better than my neurologist. Knowing has helped me to realize how much pain I have been going through is due to the AS. Now to find a pain specialist as my general doctor no longer helps in that area 😞😓
i got covid and instantly got lower back pain and into my lower legs slightly. came out of nowhere pain was unbearable but ive watch a few of these videos and did the stetchs especially the one that says fix the pain in 90 seconds in 2 stretch's and got almost instant relief. heres hoping the back pain stays at bay but will continue these exercises a few times a day
I’m 57 and you guys saved me about five years ago but here I am again with lower back problems. Should have kept your exercise routine going and I bet you’ve heard that before, love you guys 😊
I bent down to pick up something and it seemed Ike my lower back clicked. And it was painful. I searched thru your videos and found the perfect one. Thank you Brad and Bob.
Not many channels would made me do this...just found yours today, immediately I knew, it's gonna add a loads of value to my life, and without a second thought smashed that red button. Great content..you guys got a new regular follower. thanks so much for the contents. 🙏
I use a small sponge rubber football for my lower back when siting in a chair. Works great. They make them from soft to pretty hard. 1 buck at the Dollar store.
Hi Bob & Brad, your Lower Back & Hip Pain Video really got to me. I walk with a Walker (Nova Rollator), because of back, hip, groin, leg pains. I’ve been stuck elevating my legs because of Edema since 09/2021. I’ve been sleeping on my back with both legs in elevated position to prevent swelling. Am I going too far with this Leg Elevation while sleeping? Because my back and hip pains are worse now. Please advise; thanks! LS from San Jose, CA
you just helped me with really bad back pain that I've had for 2 days. Went for a short walk, but had to come home due to sharp pain. Did some stationary biking which helped. Now with the exercises you just explained I'm feeling so much better. Thanks once again. You've fixed my neck problem and hip problems in the past. 🥰 Thank you!!
Thanks I'm looking at a towel and sitting in my work truck but the lombar support is too high on my seat so I'm trying the rolled up towel .thanks you guys.but what if I feel a little bit of grinding when I do those extracise's bob was doing lying down?
Love your channel! QUESTION! The only thing that gives my lower back any relief is too intensely slouch. My upper back always feels super stiff and my lower back gets soooo sore by the end of the day. Help!
Thank you for the tips Sir Bob and Brad. You explain very well on these topics. I already went to physical therapy before, but I learned new and effective ideas from both of you. Thank you once again, and more power !
Just want to say thank you! I’m on my second bout of terrible lower back spasms. Not sure how it happened...felt fine most of the day. Got groceries earlier ( may have caused it) then drove home. Got out of my car & Voila! I could hardly walk.Seemed to get worse as I bent over, like a bad strain. So hoping these stretches will help!
Im thinking the fist thing is get an xray AND a ct..because with out that you may be doing MORE damage....none of these will help if your discs are shot your your nerves a re pinched. But nice try.
Hi, I like all the stretches that u show, but how come ure not including breathing techniques along with stretches. None of ur videos suggest that the viewers should inhale deeply & stretch while exhaling. The sync is very very important. I practice yoga. And the results of pain relief are amazing if breathing is synced along with the stretches. People may hold their breath & try to do the stretches that u show. It's not going to help. Realistic opinion.. Bob n Brad - please include the breathing techniques in ur videos.
What do you know about a cracked sacrum? Just had MRI done and results is that I have a cracked sacrum. That is why I have lower back pain plus my left greater trocantor flares up. Please help! Thank you
I’ve always spent a lot of time sitting cross legged on the floor doing crafts or work etc. I’m now having hip and lower back pain. Is there a better way to sit on the floor? I’ve found that sitting on one foot also hurts now. I’m 59….are my floor days over?
I'm 82 and are afraid of getting a rounded hump my back. I lay on a carpeted floor and after a minute or two with my arms out to my sides and knees down flat for ten minutes. Is there anything bad about this? Love your show,
The flexion feels better to me. Glad you got to that one. Strengthening my abs to support lower back seems to be what I need. Maybe that fits under "posture".
thanks, i bought a pillow for driving to help with lumbar support...duh didn't thinkabout bringing it inside when I sit on other things You made me think of it and ahhhhhh.... it does feel good.
Hi iv had two hip replacements back and hips hurt a lot i can not lift my knees like you demonstreat im 82 and have to rely on pain killers that dont work ,what can i try please thank you ,
Iam still having the pain when doing my home work some times when walking i feel when after i do these excersises iam 77 have i to rest for some more time to do ghese excersises? Bed rest hpw to rest?
Can't fix a broken heart? I've been having lower back pains now that I'm 60. Although I look like I'm in my 30s, I definitely walk like I'm 75 with bad posture. This video saved me! Also your other video regarding lower back pain started me off on proper lifting, bending, and sleeping.
Bob and Brad the first thing these people MUST do if they are experiencing back pain is to go see there primary care physician and get an MRI ASAP! 🙍🏽♀️SMH
Twice I hurt my back for carrying a 5 gals bucket in the garden within 6 months and on top of that hurt my back again after trying to calm down the two fighting dogs in my compound, all totalling within one year. Now after my last fall, I still have my lower back excruciatingly painful and persistently. I am told I also have osteoporosis.
@@neeneemeanie8012 Mine hasn't reached the point of surgery. Have you consulted with a surgeon yet? With me it started as a busted tailbone, I didn't even fall on it. I woke up with horrible pain in my coccyx, saw a sports medicine dr. He sent me to physical therapy. 2 yrs later was diagnosed with pinched nerve in the cauda equina.
Fantastic information, thanks! I find it embarrassing when in public that I need to bend over forward (rather than backward) to relieve my lower back pain. I wonder why that is, that I need to lean forward? Lying on back, knees to chest is my best exercise out of the above.
Big question. I tend to sleep in some sort of constructive rest, even though my version of L5S1 bulge is best relieved by spinal extension. And recommends? Stomach sleeping?
I'm a little confused. I have hypermobility syndrome with a lot of damage in multiple joints along with ddd & djd throughout my spine. I also have lumbar stenosis and scoliosis. I have been told by ortho not to arch/extend my back because of the risk of subluxation. Is this correct?
Hi Bob and Brad. After experiencing lower back pain for a few months I had an x-ray that showed (according to the specialist) loss of disc space in L5S1 with some sclerosis. Can you do a video with a remedy?
I've had a disceptomy years ago. Now I have a hurty spot above the right hip bone. It feels bumpy n the muscle or cartilage can be moving. Hurts when poked. I'm a gardener. Right handed. Is it nerve or muscle?
All their exercises & stretches help & are very sensible solutions!! I would seriously suggest placing a soft cylinder shaped pillow (rolled up towel or large stuffed up sock works great - How thick will depend on your comfort level) under the arch of your lower back when laying on it (ESPecially if you're heavy or overweight, but suggested for all).
Total hip replacement was doing good but when I walk now have a pinching pain in buttocks down back of the leg are there any stretches I can do. Only 2 weeks from surgery. Did I dislocate it? :(
Sorry for another comment, but when do stand up straight, my back hurts, probably because it's not used to it because of my bad posture as I have sway back.
I bought what I thought was a wonderful leather chair 3 yrs. ago. I have now decided it is all wrong and has caused all my back problems. Is this possible?
